During this sensitive period of development, a child acquires a variety of new abilities and skills that are a necessary part of child development. There are five sensitive period categories, which include language, order, sensory skills, motor skills, and social skills. Many people experience some type of wounding during their early development and learn to numb their pain by self-soothing with one or more compulsive behaviours. As adults, they may continue to struggle with the compulsive misuse of alcohol, drugs, spending, food, sex, relationships or the Internet. All addictions feature a very complex emotional and biochemical process that have origins in childhood trauma and the deprivation of authentic intimacy and bonding during development.Socially induced pathology appears between the ages of 4 to 5 and 8 to 9.The onset of male sexual imprinting is from aged 3 to 4 and peaks at 8 to 9, with an upper tail at about aged 13. These sex and relationship templates (set up in childhood) become activated at puberty and develop and continue throughout adult life.4 Ways in which juvenile sex and relsp templates are developmentally vulnerable to socially induced pathology:· Explicitly neglecting to monitor and reinforce healthy sexual rehearsal play.· Punishing or humiliating children for their rehearsal play.· Prematurely inducting children into sexual rehearsal play.· Coercing children into age-discrepant sexual rehearsal play. Our early attachment styles are established in childhood through the infant/caregiver relationship. Four distinguishing characteristics of attachment are:1 Proximity Maintenance - The desire to be near the people we are attached to.2 Safe Haven - Returning to the attachment figure for comfort and safety in the face of a fear or threat.3 Secure Base - The attachment figure acts as a base of security from which the child can explore the surrounding environment.4 Separation Distress - Anxiety that occurs in the absence of the attachment figure.Templates are setting up traits that will play out in Adulthood, which the child did not vote to have at work in their life. Mike Johnson, Beau Morgan, and Ali Mac let you hear Atlanta Falcons Head Coach Raheem Morris talk about how his claim that the New England Patriots clapped to simulate the offense's snap count was just what his players said happened, react to what Coach Morris had to say, explain why they think the Patriots didn't clap to make the Falcons and center Ryan Neuzil snap ball prematurely, and explain why that even if they did clap to try and get Neuzil to snap the ball prematurely that's not anything illegal. Mike, Beau, and Ali also let you hear Coach Morris talk about how he takes blame for the team's kicking issues because he's involved in everything that happens with the team, and react to what Coach Morris had to say
Texas and Penn State were the preseason #1 and #2 teams before the college football season began. It's now Week 7 and both of those teams are completely out of the Top 25. It's almost like we're just wildly guessing at the quality of teams, and maybe we should play some games before arbitrarily assigning rankings! This was also one of the wildest NFL weeks in recent memory, so we're breaking down the chaos of games like Niners/Rams (which included a crazy pre-game moment with Mac Jones) and Titans/Cardinals, a game where a snap bouncing off the quarterback's face was only like the fourth-most bonkers thing to happen.Plus, Joey takes a trip to Corpus Christi and participates in some fantastic activities, like horseback riding on the beach and Moke driving. And we've got a special guest delivering a rant on yet ANOTHER player dropping the ball before scoring a touchdown.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/sports-r-dumb/donations

Right after a season ends, shows, writers, and fans will start creating their "way too early" lists for the next year. This is often before any transfers, drafts, or free agency periods take place. So, you know, no team is going to look like it does now. How silly!Plus, we dissect what we'd do with the Stanley Cup if we won an NHL title and got to parade the cup around town. In this episode of The Go-To Mise en Place, we sit down with Samyukta Nair, the powerhouse behind London's boldest and most elegant dining destinations. As the creative director of LSL Capital, she's responsible for a growing portfolio of restaurants that blend storytelling, design, and deeply personal heritage — from the Michelin-starred Jamavar to the vibrant, cinematic Bombay Bustle, the maximalist charm of MiMi Mei Fair, and the newly launched KOYN, Elenas, and Élan.We delve into Samyukta's journey from the family-run Leela hotel group in India to launching her first solo concepts in London. She shares what it was like entering the restaurant world on her own terms, how she approaches each venue like a film set with its own narrative, and why her late grandfather remains a guiding force in her decision-making.Expect reflections on the power of instinct over trend, how she builds restaurants with longevity in mind, and what she's learned about balancing creative ambition with operational excellence. We also talk about the making of KOYN, her most personal project to date, inspired by her time in Tokyo, as well as her bold move into Mayfair nightlife with the newly opened Koyn Thai and Nipotina. This is a wide-ranging conversation with one of the most visionary and quietly influential figures in hospitality today — and a rare look behind the scenes of London's most theatrical dining rooms.---------Please leave us a great rating and a comment and share it with your friends - it really helps us grow as a show.If you're in the industry and are looking for the greatest POS system in the world than look no further as Blinq are tearing up the rulebook—no long-term contracts, no hidden fees, and no per-device charges. Everyone is a current, former, or future teenager. You probably know this period of life is an especially difficult time for kids. Throw in a deadly pandemic and the subsequent disruption of school and social life? It got a lot more complicated. And new research suggests COVID-19 lockdowns may have had lasting consequences for adolescent minds. In a new study from the University of Washington Institute for Learning and Brain Sciences (I-LABS for short), researchers found that pandemic isolation actually accelerated the aging of teen brains. In this episode, we discuss one of the most pivotal moments in Israel's history: their request for a king as recorded in 1 Samuel 8:1-9. This moment marks a significant turning point, not just in Israel's political structure, but in their spiritual journey as a nation, as well. Many have misunderstood this episode as God rejecting the very idea of kingship in Israel. However, as we'll explore, kingship had always been part of God's plan, embedded in His covenant promises to Abraham, Jacob, and Judah. The problem wasn't the request for a king itself, but the timing and motivation behind it. Much like Adam and Eve's decision to prematurely eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, Israel's demand for a king was driven by a desire to be like the nations around them, revealing a deeper issue of idolatry. Samuel sums up their request as a rejection of God's kingship—a longing for a substitute that could replace God's presence and rule in their lives. We then draw a connection to the New Testament, where Jesus faced a similar temptation in John 6. The crowds wanted to make Him king by force, but Jesus, in His wisdom, resisted a premature ascent to kingship. Instead, He submitted to the Father's appointed time and way for installing him as king, going through the necessary developmental process that would lead Him to the cross and ultimately to His resurrection as the true King of Israel. In our next episode, we'll explore God's ideal vision for kingship in Israel—one that stood in stark contrast to the nations around them—and discuss the implications for our understanding of the kingship of Jesus in the New Testament. Key Scriptures: 1 Samuel 8:1-9 God promises kings to Abraham, Jacob, and Judah: Genesis 17:1-6; 35:11-12; 49:10 John 6:15-21 Explainer Video on how to use www.biblehub.com and www.blueletterbible.org Leave us a question or comment at our website podcast page. * Intro Music: "Admirable" Carlos Herrera Music --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/onelifenash/support

You see the reports in the news all the time, a patient on life support has given the “gift of life” by donating organs. Few people realize but organ donors needs to be alive to do this. Hospitals can legally declare people with a brain death diagnosis allowing them to take their vital organs for transplant. Dr. Heidi Klessig is author of The Brain Death Fallacy. She discusses whether brain death is irreversible and how the organ transplant business has grown since the decision in 1968 to include brain function in the legal definition of death. Klessig: “People defined to be brain dead or dead by neurological criteria have beating hearts, digest food, excrete urine, and even gestate pregnancies and deliver healthy babies. These people are not biologically dead, and their spirits have not departed. Brain death is not death. Many people who were diagnosed as being brain dead have recovered. If brain death was real death, people should not recover even once.” Klessig also discusses the Uniform Declaration of Death Act, and how New Jersey is the only state that allow families to demand treatment for patients declared “brain dead.” Patients and families can take measures before a crisis to make sure hospitals do not violate their wishes when it comes to life and death issues.
