The Atlanta Braves have suddenly started scoring runs. The result has been a run of success and their longest winning streak of the season. Grant McAuley discusses some of the reasons why the Braves are finding some late-season success. There is no hotter hitter in the National League than Michael Harris II, but just how good has he been? On the flip side, while some young arms are making an impression, Spencer Strider is struggling to find consistency. What exactly is going wrong for the former MLB strikeout leader, and can it be fixed? All of that plus the return of Ronald Acuña Jr. and why he should be playing, and injury updates on Chris Sale and Austin Riley. This week's special interviews include a visit with Stephen Tolbert of Hammer Territory to dissect the seasons of Harris and Strider as well as the big winter to come. You'll hear the comments of Braves GM and President of Baseball Operations Alex Anthopoulos, who shared his thoughts on the deadline with the media on Thursday. They also discuss Austin Riley being placed on the IL once again and just as they believe with Ronald Acuna Jr., they believe the Braves' "season is done" and no need to run Riley back out there once he comes off the IL.

Carl and Mike open up the show with a brief recap of their time off and then look ahead to the home run derby and all-star game as well as SEC Media Days. They then talk briefly about the Braves as they agree that the team seemingly cannot catch a break as they announced Austin Riley was placed on the 10-day IL. As their conversation continued, they share why they believe the team is caught in the crosshair and the front office has some 'tough decisions' to make if they decide to be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline.
Looking into options for the Phillies at the trade deadline. Tom Kelly throws out the idea of going to a struggling Atlanta and sending them Alec Bohm along with several other prospects for Austin Riley who could be a major boost for the Phillies this year! Would you make this move?
In hour 2, the WIP Midday show are reacting to last nights Phillies loss and the questionable calls that came with it! Plus, making a hypothetical trade with the Atlanta Braves that would send Alec Bohm to Atlanta for Austin Riley in return!
While there may be a few over-reactions going around, one of the most popular ones is that Braves General Manager Alex Anthopoulos should not have signed a lot of players in this lineup, like Austin Riley and Michael Harris II to long contract extensions on the hope that their career trajectories would excel. This is probably not the case, as teams and players will have bad seasons, but as the offense continues to struggle, the hot takes will continue to fly around. Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael discuss the Braves current woes, and what they may do, if anything, to cure them

The Braves split with the Mets, but with the offense still stuck in neutral, is it time for a drastic move? On this episode of Braves Central, Chris Dimino suggests moving Austin Riley to left field and trading for Alex Bregman to take over at third base. Would that jumpstart Atlanta’s bats? Something the Braves showed last night that we have not necessarily seen a lot of from them this season is the ability to com through in clutch situations. Marcell Ozuna with a base-clearing double in the 8th to tie the game, then Austin Riley with the long fly ball to win after Ronald Acuña Jr. was walked intentionally in the 10th. This is what the Braves need, and for the long term, as they have dug themselves in quite the hole since the season started.
