We started the hour talking about the Vikings loss to the Rams and somehow got on the topic of famous people with ‘butt' chins. A caller has a question for Boomer about the women on the show, ‘Landman'. We took calls on celebrities with ‘butt' chins. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the sounds of the Rams beating the Vikings. Matthew Stafford talked about getting the win in the difficult week it's been for the people in L.A. Sam Darnold talked about not playing well the last two weeks. Bo Nix met the media to talk about his rookie year. Russell Wilson wants to be back with the Steelers next year. The Moment of The Day: Gio asks Vince Wilfork about Tom Brady as a broadcaster. In the final segment of the hour, Brandon Tierney comes in during the commercial and wants Gio to be fired up for St. John's vs Georgetown. The Vikings just got whacked in the Wild Card so Gio's not fired up for anything.
We talked briefly about colleges and universities having a ton of money to pay athletes and yet they are still looking for alumni to donate. Boomer got a letter from Maryland looking for money. We talked about the draft and Boomer doesn't think Shedeur Sanders will agree to go to the Titans or the Browns. That would set him up to be drafted by the Giants to play with Malik Nabers. The dream scenario for Deion would be for him to coach the Raiders and for them to draft Shedeur. There are reports Tom Brady really wants Ben Johnson for the Raiders, but there is no QB there right now. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of Bucs radio as the Commanders kick the game winning FG. Baker Mayfield had a terrible fumble and Todd Bowles was asked about it. The Eagles beat the Packers but it wasn't pretty and Saquon talked about that. Jalen Hurts was asked about AJ Brown reading a book on the sideline. Boomer wonders how we each ‘find our flow'. George Pickens was asked after the Steelers' loss if he's optimistic going forward and he said, ‘uh, nah'. Kevin O'Connell is preparing to play as if they're playing in Los Angeles. The Patriots hired Mike Vrabel. In the final segment of the hour, former Ranger Sean Avery told the story of playing in a men's hockey league and having to knock a guy off his skates after he was bragging about his fourth goal of the game. He was banned from men's hockey in the state of California. We talked about traffic now that congestion pricing has been put into place. Boomer said businesses seem to be hurting because of it.

The Giants are keeping Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll. John Mara is trying something different in going with stability this time around. Ben Johnson is likely going to Jacksonville, so where does that leave Chicago? Jerry returns for his final update of the day, but first we talked about congestion pricing which started today in NYC. Jerry starts with audio of Brian Daboll talking about believing in the people and the process going forward. Aaron Rodgers threw 4 TDs, including his 500th career TD. After the game, Tyreek Hill said, ‘I'm out, bro'. Frank The Tank is not happy with Dolphins ownership. The Lions beat the Vikings last night and took the North and the number one seed in the NFC. Mike Evans had 1,000 yards for the 11th straight season, tying Jerry Rice. Mike McCarthy said he's ‘a winner'. The Jets have requested an interview with Chiefs assistant GM Mike Borganzi. The Moment of The Day: Boomer wants to punch somebody over congestion pricing. In the final segment of the show, if Borganzi is hired as GM, will Woody Johnson allow him to choose the head coach he wants? Brian Costello of the NY Post feels Aaron Glenn is the leading candidate for the head coaching job. Gio doesn't think that would be a good fit for the Jets.
Kevin Clark recaps everything from week 18 in the NFL, including Tyreek Hill saying he is done in Miami. Kevin can't believe the Falcons didn't make the playoffs this year. Plus, the Lions coaching job in 2024 is one of the best coaching jobs in sports ever. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

In this segment of Sports Open Line with Joe Pott, he is joined by Patrick Daugherty, NFL writer for NBC Sports, as he recaps NFL Week 17, and looks forward to Week 18, where the Vikings and Lions face off for the NFC's #1 seed, and Saquon Barkley is 101 rushing yards away from the single season rushing record.
Jerry and CLo are here for this post-Christmas show. Jerry enjoyed the Knicks game on Christmas Day but wishes the NBA product was better on a daily basis rather than just entertaining on big days and in the postseason. CLo and Jerry wonder why fans don't enjoy the daily grind of the regular season as much as they used to. Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs gave the Knicks a fight yesterday but the Knicks held on. Pat Boyle is here for his first update of the day and Jerry wants everyone to know that Pat has not been feeling well. Add that to CLo spending his Christmas Eve in different urgent care centers and Jerry is surrounded by sick folks. Josh Hart praised Mikal Bridges after the Knicks win. The Chiefs beat the Steelers and clinched home-field throughout the playoffs. Boyle thinks the Steelers should go back to Justin Fields. In the final segment of the hour, a caller shares that Jerry's 2025 calendar was the best gift he received for Christmas. Does anyone on the show have an interest in going to a sporting event on Christmas Day? It sounds like yes for the Knicks but absolutely not for football.

On today's episode of The Right Time, Bomani Jones recaps everything that happened this weekend in College Football with the Heisman Trophy celebration and in Week 15 of the NFL. But first, Bomani starts the show by calling out some of the Lions haters in the live chat. (1:00) That leads to Bomani breaking down that matchup against the Buffalo Bills, especially all the injuries the Lions came away with following that game. Will the Lions be able to overcome them or will it be a tough postseason journey for the Honolulu Blue? Then Bomani gives flowers to Josh Allen who might have locked up the MVP award after his performance. (2:20) He also praises the Eagles for their win but highlights Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown who called out the media after their win, even though the issue was clearly between the two of them. (10:06) After briefly discussing the Chiefs, who despite their victory might be in some big trouble with the injury to Patrick Mahomes, (15:50) Bomani finally gets to Travis Hunter winning the Heisman Trophy. Bomani explains why it was most definitely the correct choice because of everything he did this season on both sides of the field but also if you voted for Ashton Jeanty it was fine. Now while we should be celebrating Travis Hunter, the drama surrounding him and his girlfriend following the events of the this weekend have overshadowed an iconic performance on the field. Bomani gives Travis prudent advice and wishes him good luck as he navigates this portion of his life. (18:29) And as always, we wrap the show with a round of If You Haven't Heard stories and your voicemail stories about the time you were shocked to meet a friends significant other. On today's episode, Bomani Jones breaks down Week 14 in the NFL by looking at the teams with the salty wide receivers. He starts in New York where the Giants and the Jets both continue to lose games this season. We hear from Garrett Wilson who says the team currently has losing in their DNA, and Malik Nabers who expertly answers a question about the Giants being a dumpster fire. (1:08) After hearing from AJ Brown who is somehow salty even after the Eagles won this Sunday, we transition to the Bills, who despite their loss to the Rams, saw an iconic 6 touchdown performance from MVP frontrunner Josh Allen. (14:17) Then Bomani gets to the announcement of this years College Football Playoffs, which according to Bo, is a broken system that is designed to never properly determine the best team in college football. Team and Player Statistics with Analysis Circa Survivor Contest (0:42-6:18) Survivor Stats: Week 12 began with 95 live entries and ended with 54, marking significant eliminations. An entry failed due to a missed pick, wasting $120,000 in equity. Strategy Advice: Fezzik emphasized the importance of proxies for critical decisions in high-stakes scenarios and advised against splitting multiple entries to underdogs. Tennessee vs. Houston (8:44): The Titans dominated with 132 rushing yards versus Houston's 40. Houston's points were skewed by turnovers. Denver vs. Las Vegas (10:40): Denver's 10-point win seemed exaggerated as stats were nearly equal. Fezzik noted the key role of turnovers. San Francisco 49ers: -1 point, seen as a decline from top-tier contenders. Upgrades: Dallas Cowboys: +1 point for consistent wins. Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles: +1 each, establishing them as top NFC contenders. Baltimore and Kansas City Insights (20:05-20:51)Fezzik predicted Baltimore and Kansas City would face difficulties maintaining playoff dominance. The Chiefs need to improve consistency, despite close wins. Speaker Highlights and Notable Quotes Munaf Manji (7:07, 15:20) NFL Observations: Identified Houston's struggles against tougher schedules. Betting Tips: Highlighted Dolphins' recovery, urging cautious optimism for their playoff potential. Steve Fezzik (2:28, 14:36) Survivor Analysis: Urged against betting underdogs in high-stakes competitions. Power Ratings: Asserted only four realistic Super Bowl contenders: Detroit, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Buffalo. Key Humor (13:17-13:48)Fezzik joked about catching five passes better than professional players, adding a personal touch to the serious analysis. Bomani Jones kicks off today's episode by reveling in the Detroit Lions victory of the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 52-6 beat down helped prove that Bomani's Lions are the best team in the NFL and Bo asks the question why Doug Pederson still has his job following that loss? (0:50) From there, Bomani highlights the Bills defeating the Chiefs from two perspectives. The first being, the Chiefs finally met their match after barely squeaking by with victories over the last few weeks, which reminded Bomani of Tim Tebow. Secondly, the Bills win will create the narrative of Josh Allen for MVP even though he hasn't been as good as Lamar Jackson. (3:40) Then Bomani transitions to the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight earlier this weekend which ultimately ended up as a disappointing event all together. Bomani explains why you automatically lost by even deciding to watch the event, why the fight was so mediocre, and what this says about the sport of boxing. (16:04) And finally, another round of If You Haven't Heard stories and your Voicemails on the dumbest person you've worked on a group project together with. Bomani Jones kicks off this episode by talking about his Detroit Lions and their big victory over the Green Bay Packers. (0:44) Bomani gives his flowers to head coach Dan Campbell and the rest of the Lions for being the best team in the NFL. From there he discusses the rest of the Week 9 games before breaking down Lamar Jackson and the Ravens, who are playing great football behind an unstoppable force in Derrick Henry. (9:00) Then Bomani shares a five word phrase which is the theme of the next segment: Disrespect Will Not Be Tolerated. (21:45) Over the weekend three athletes were disrespected and Bomani goes through each one to explain why actions like this from people will never be tolerated. First Bomani discusses Jason Kelce and the interaction with a fan over the weekend, who said a derogatory slur to him, which lead to Kelce smashing the fans phone. The second one was the interaction between Joel Embiid and Marcus Hayes, a reporter for the Inquirer, following Hayes' piece which referenced Embiid's brother who died in a bike accident. (28:00) And finally, Bomani shares his thoughts on the Drake vs DeMar Derozan beef that happened and why maybe Drake should actually tolerate the disrespect. (34:54) And as always, we end the Monday show with If You Haven't Heard and your wild voicemail stories on how you fumbled the ball with a woman.
