Peter Bond - Head Coach Azusa Pacific University

Episode 24 of the KYP Podcast is Peter Bond.  Coach Bond finished his first season as the Head Coach at Azusa Pacific University. Before the quarantine, his team finished 25-4 and 20-2 in conference.  During Bond's 11 years as an assistant to former head coach, he helped lead Azusa Pacific to a 242-110 record (.688) with eight 20-win seasons and six national tournament appearances (three NCAA, three NAIA). David Grace - NCAA Basketball coach

Episode 22 of the KYP Podcast is Coach David Grace.  Coach Grace spent 20 years serving in our military before retiring.  He got into coaching and immediately moved up the ranks. Eric Olen - UC San Diego Head Basketball Coach

Gus Argenal - Associate Head Coach Cal State Fullerton

Episode 19 of the KYP Podcast is Gus Argenal.  Coach Argenal is the associate Head Coach at Cal State University.  He is entering his 17th season as a college basketball coach.  Before going to CSUF he coached at University of Reno.  He helped them reach the sweet 16 and coached several NBA players.  He was the Head Coach for four seasons as the head coach of the Cal State East Bay.  Prior to being named the head coach at Cal State East Bay he has been an assistant coach for several schools including, Rice, UC Davis, Chico State, UT San Antonio, UC Davis and Arizona State.  Argenal, a college point guard played at UC Davis and still holds the Aggies single game record with 13 assists. His senior season he topped the Aggies in assists and steals and helped the 2003-04 team post and 18-9 record. Tim Shelton - Fresno State Basketball Coach

Episode 18 of the KYP Podcast is Tim Shelton.  Coach Shelton is beginning his third year as assistant coach at Fresno State.  Shelton was named an Under Armour 30-under-30 honoree by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) earlier in May 2018, which annually recognizes the best 30 coaches under the age of 30.  Before Fresno State Coach Shelton was a beloved player and coach at San Diego State University.   Shelton played for San Diego State from 2007-12. Ryan Badrtalei - Associate HC University of California Irvine + Kobe Bryant's skills trainer

Episode 17 of the KYP Podcast features UCI associate Head Coach Ryan Badrtalei.  Coach Badrtalei has been coaching at UCI for over 10 years.  During his time there, his teams and players have enjoyed immense success, He helped the Anteaters reach the postseason six times including two NCAA appearances (2015, 2019) and an NCAA first round win in 2019. Scott Waterman - Head Coach Academy of Art University Head Coach

CJ Haydock - Fresno Pacific Head Coach

John Smith - Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Head Coach

John Smith is the Head Basketball Coach at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.  Prior to Cal Poly SLO Coach Smith has had a successful tenure coaching in college at Cal State Fullerton.  His junior college coaching record stands at 265-118 (.692). In 2016, the California Community College Men’s Basketball Coaches Association inducted Smith into its Hall of Fame for his outstanding work in building both San Bernardino Valley College and Riverside College programs and leading each to the state tournament and winning a state championship at RCC.  The Riverside native talks about playing for legendary coaches such at Coach Bartee at JW North and Coach Tarkanian at UNLV.   Coach Smith does a great job explaining his philosophy on coaching and what it takes to persevere.  This podcast is rich with information and life lessons.

Hardy Asprilla - Associate Head Coach Cal Baptist University

Hardy Asprilla is the Associate Head Coach for Cal Baptist University. In this podcast, he is going to talk about coming to America from Columbia. He arrived here not knowing a word of English, he now has a Master’s degree and is the associate Head Coach at Cal Baptist University. During his time as an assistant coach at CBU the Lancers have set Division 1 records for most wins in an inaugural season, and fastest team to qualify for post season play. In his 7 years at CBU his teams have gone 169-54. He has also coached at the D2 level and Junior College level. Prior to coaching he was a D1 player at Cal State Fullerton and an All State JC player at College of the Sequoias. He also played professionally in South America where his team won the national championship and he was the MVP. Bob Burton - California Community College Hall of Fame Coach

Coach Bob Burton has coached basketball for over 50 years. In that time, he has coached and won at all levels.  He started coaching in High School at three different schools, Leigh, Westmont and Willow Glen HS. As a Junior College Head Coach for 20 years he went 488-128 as well as conference coach of the year 9 times, and California Coach of the year 4 times. In Division 1 college basketball he was an assistant coach at University of Utah and Fresno State and the Head Coach at Cal State Fullerton. At CSUF he had three 20-win seasons and three post season appearances including the NCAA Tournament in 2008. Recently, he was an assistant for the women’s basketball team at San Jose City College. Coach Burton was inducted into the California Community Colleges Coaches Hall of Fame in 2004. In this podcast Coach Burton details how he built programs from the ground up.
