Kyle Tolin is the Head Men's Basketball Coach at The University of Texas Permian Basin. In his first four seasons at UTPB the Falcons have a 62-54 overall record and made the Lone Star Conference Tournament in 2022.Prior to UTPB, Tolin spent the last seven seasons at the University of Arkansas - Monticello, where he reached the NCAA Tournament twice, won a pair of regular-season conference championships, and had 108 victories, completely turning around the Boll Weevil program. Tolin took the reins of the UAM program in 2014 after helping Oklahoma Baptist reach 14 straight NAIA national tournaments during his 10 years as an assistant coach and four years as a student-athlete. The 2010 Bison team won the NAIA national championship, while the 2002 and 2012 teams finished as national runners-up. During that 14-year span, the team's record in the national tournament was 30-12. The 2010 national championship team finished with an overall record of 34-2.As a student-athlete at Oklahoma Baptist, Tolin scored over 1,000 points during his four-year career and was a two-time All-SAC honorable mention. He played in every game during his career, and in addition to his scoring, averaged 4.3 assists per game overall. Jared Heumann is the Director of Strength and Conditioning at UT Permian Basin where he oversees the training for the football and the women's basketball team. Heumann arrived at UTPB in 2020 as a graduate assistant coach and was promoted to full-time assistant in 2021 and later took over as the head strength and conditioning coach after one year before being named the director of strength and conditioning in 2023. Prior to arriving at UTPB, he served as an assistant coach at Shippensburg University in 2020. He's also spent time as an intern coach at Binghamton University from 2018-2020 and in the private sector at BX Strength and Speed Development in 2017.A former college football player at Hartwick College, Heumann continues to train himself in the weight room. Jonathan Brown is a program manager for AVID for Higher Education. As a former high school AVID student from Killeen ISD, Jonathan has experienced the roles of an AVID student, tutor, and one of the first AVID instructors in higher education. While attending college, Jonathan traveled the U.S. as a motivational speaker, sharing his experience as an AVID student and how it opened doors of opportunity to his future. In 2009, Jonathan began working with the University of Texas of the Permian Basin to develop an AVID First-Year Seminar, in which students learned how to navigate college and grow their critical thinking skills. Andy Newman is the Head Coach for the men’s team at Cal State San Bernardino. He has been a college basketball coach for the last 18 years. In this podcast, Coach Newman will talk about his time as a player for four different colleges. He will discuss his coaching mentors and what he learned during his time as an assistant coach. Mike Anzano is the Assistant Head Coach for COM Aquatics. He has been at COM for 4 years and has primarily been a part of the 12 and under age group program. He graduated from UTPB with a degree in Math in 2013. Prior to his coaching career, Mike swam for 4 years at Parkland High in his hometown of El Paso, TX. He was a 4A State qualifier in 2008 and 2009, which was the first from his school. In club swimming, he was a Sectional level swimmer for the Desert Shark Swim Club. He continued his swimming career into college as a member of the Falcon Swim Team while attending UTPB. During his 4 years with the Falcons, he received All-Conference academic honors and had the highest GPA on the men's swim team in 2012.
