Mr Goke decides to share some real shit about how life feels at the moment for him. this is raw and brutally honest and covers what it feels like to be half in an African mindset while traversing a Eurocentric world. I speak my truth because that's how I am and its how my soul feels free. Hope you enjoy it, one love.
Show name is evolving to 'The Goke Bobo show'. Also, felt some inspiration so I made a motivational song. Anyone who stumbles across this, I hope it is enjoyable. Love. The song starts from 1:50.
A lot of people these days are noticing at a rapidly increasing rate that they're suffering from one form of attention deficit disorder or another. Often times this is a chance for medical professionals to enrichen themselves with diagnosing issues; but is this a symptom of a much simpler disease? The addiction to shortened clips as information centres. This isn't the in-depth version.
On this week's episode I begin by sending condolences to Davido and Chioma on the loss of their son. Also I'm sending out condolences to the Migos for the loss of rapper and pioneer Takeoff. This episode is focused on an analysis of the toxic nature of social media in relation to the sharing of videos and images of death, as well as rumours of tragic events shared before families have time to address it. #ForTheCulture #Culturetalk
Welcome back! For my lovely listeners, I've created a bonus episode about the recent antics of artist formerly known as Kanye. On this episode I answer to my conspiracy demons, and posit a theory; Is this entire debacle all part of a larger theatre release for the public? I believe it very much could be. Let me know your thoughts, enjoy!
A discussion on the events leading up to the termination of the YEEZY deal between Ye (Formerly known as Kanye West) and adidas. Also discussed in this episode: The theory being floated around that perhaps the entire media fallout and anti-Semitic debacle was inspired by tactics or just the ramblings of a mad man. This episode is labelled FTC(For the culture).
If you're clued in, you'll know there's been a lot of back and forth in the Hip-hop world between popular media personality DJ Akademiks and most of the older members of the community. I focus on the specific exchange between LL Cool J and Akademiks to bring you some insight and my pov on the situation. Breakdown- Intro, Summary of issue (Akademiks comments and LL Cool J's comments), my analysis. Bonus: 'Savanah Freestyle'
Hello! This week I'm joined by my housemate from Stockport Mike Ingram. We discuss wacky philosophy-ish things. Table of content: -Chat about differences between Northerners and Southerners -Discussion of the butterfly effect in relation to football and life -If Butterfly, then nihilism? If not, then what? Bonus: Noah drops some bars/melodies from his kitchen at 6:45am. Music starts from 22:30.
Host is back fresh from a weekend at Leeds fest! Inspired by Bo Burnham and his Netflix music/comedy special, we've decided to give you a preview into the current life happenings of the host Noah Adeoye. Right at the end there's a little early morning melody session that was caught by unknown aliens as the host decided to bang on his table and sing (Weirdo right?) Enjoy, more content on it's way!
This is impromptu. I hope you listen and I hope you enjoy. No description, love.
The title is a play on the famous basketballer 'MetaWorldPeace' name, and signifies the shift to a more violent and not very friendly field within the internet and meta space. Case studies: -Black women and Kevin Samuel's -Black men and rap music -The plight of the black comedian (Dave Chapelle attacked on stage) There's a bit of dark energy flowing around the spaces- our ears, our eyes, our mouths etc. It's not good for a healthy community, but maybe this is a realisation that our community truly isn't as healthy as others would want you to think.
Welcome back for another episode! (I should number these) Going into the third week of the Ukraine-Russia conflict, I'm here to share a few more thoughts on the crisis. My focus as usual is on the human element rather than the political. Order of discussion will be as follows: -Sanctions and the response of Crypto exchanges -Mistreatment of African and Asian students -The first casualty of war is the truth -Actions always speak louder than words -Closing remarks. Thanks for listening and we look forward to reporting more positive news in future. Feedback (neg and pos) always welcome.
We start this week's audio journey with a statement of solidarity with the people of Ukraine and other groups around the world fighting tyranny. No jokes this week due to the seriousness of the situation. By now everyone has heard that Russia invaded Ukraine in what Putin called a 'military exercise'. I will be discussing the events with a specific focus on how Cryptocurrency might play a part in this war. Order of topics: -Pray4Ukraine -The bully theory -Can crypto circumvent sanctions? -Closing remarks. Thanks for listening and we look forward to reporting more positive news in future. Feedback (neg and pos) always welcome.
Welcome to another episode of Our Inner Voices, the culture cast. Off the back of new Kanye documentary Jeen-Yuhs (found on Netflix), this week I'm discussing a topic that's been on fire for months now; Kanye West. In our world today, it's quite easy to dismiss people's behaviour as just being 'crazy' which in a lot of ways blinds us from what's really going on. With this in mind, this week these are the pod talking points: -Quick tribute to Jamal Edwards (Creator of SBTV and musical pioneer) -Brief discussion on the recent Kanye West documentary 'Jee-nhus' -Is Kanye West crazy or just a good manipulator? -Antics with Kim and Instagram -Bonus: Older people wonder why Ye is so revered among youth -Bonus Bonus: I didn't pass probation, here's what I learned. Happy Listening!
It seems like controversy after controversy these days. West Ham player Kurt Zouma is experiencing blowback, due to a video being leaked of him kicking his cat. I dive into my thoughts on the situation, as well as other talking points that came up as a result of this debacle. I also dive into the latest uproar around Joe Rogan and Spotify. Very briefly though. Feel free to get in touch if you enjoy what you hear and would like to participate.
Happy New year, I'm back with another social observation. Case study: Jk Rowling vs Media JK Rowling was trending online on the 5th of January for being accused of being anti-semitic due to her representation of goblins as greedy bankers in Harry Potter. Famous US comedian and political commentator Jon Stewart was at the centre of the storm, as a video he made a month ago was used as the basis for a Newsweek story. This sparked an online fire aimed at JK Rowling. Join me as I analyse the media response to this story, including the response of the Jewish community and Jon Stewart himself to the discussion. Enjoy!
With the recent passing of Memphis rapper Young Dolph, it seems like the year 2021 is once again ending with a similar trend as other years in recent history. If a rapper isn't being killed, they're being attacked. At the moment it feels like the industry is letting in too much dark energy, and personally I've had enough. Join me as I discuss my frustrations with an industry I love.
Back again. I've watched Dave Chapelle for over a decade all the way back from the Chapelle show days until now. It's fair to say I really enjoy his sense of humour. Recently Mr Chapelle has had strange run ins with the trans community for various reasons (I briefly explain some of them on this episode). However in the final part of his Netflix special 'The closer' it felt as though the beef had reached boiling point for Dave. I take a look at the episode and discuss my pov on his mindset while recording. Thank you for lending me your ears.

Rapper Dababy has been in hot water for negative comments made about HIV and against the gay community. This is my summary, breakdown and take on the issue for those wondering what's going on. Episode 15 of the Enchiridion series will still be out this week. Cheers.
On this week's episode the host discusses the topic ‘Freedom' alongside special guest Mikes (@Michael.billionairefitnessuk) The reading for this week: ''If you wish for your wife and kids to live forever, you're stupid, because you wish to be in control of things which aren't yours to control. Likewise, if you wish for your employee to be perfect, you're stupid. But, if you wish to never be disappointed and get everything you want, this is in your control. All you have to do is desire only those things which are in your control to obtain. If someone can give to you or take away from you what you want, then they're your master. If you want to be free, then, wish for nothing which depends on others.'' On this week's episode the host discusses the topic ‘Respect and praise'. “Be okay with being thought of as foolish. Don't wish to be thought of as knowledgable or important, and be distrustful of praise. Your goal is to maintain healthy thoughts and healthy actions, not to be respected by others; The two are often at odds.” Please like/ share/ subscribe Follow the artist @Gtg_voices Apologises for the lack of intro music, don't have a laptop for the next few weeks.

*SPOILER ALERT* The Joker was released on October 4th to wide popular acclaim. It received rave reviews, but a lot of viewers were put off by the violence, and the portrayal of the main character as a victim of society and a failing mental health system. With the rise of mental health awareness in modern society, no one is sure how to handle this topic just yet. My guest Neve Palmer (@Neve_palmer1), a film student at Ravensbourne joins me for this conversation.
“The present predicaments of Africa are often not a matter of personal choice: they arise from a historical situation.’’- Ngugi wa Thiong’o. What is the relationship between the old white men who wrote about the history of Africa and the African students who engage with their works today? For a lot of us, there is a desire to see a change in the works we engage with. My guests Onika, Nancy and Eva join me to have a deeper discussion about 1. The curriculum at SOAS among other unis, 2. The power of language. We hope you enjoy!
