Join us as we explore the world of MTB. Our journey is filled with humor, irreverence, and things that are just plain old weird. East coast humor and style, and and little British banter thrown in for good measure. We chat with trail builders, developers, bike companies, fitness professionals, and everyone with a vested interest in MTB. We bring you The Mountain Bike Connection Podcast.
A quick catch up on our recent travels; Wez and Lori hit up the Railyard, Darren checks out Brookvale, and we all take a trip down to the 207 to sample some US trails. On Strava? Join us in the group! Look for The MTB Connection Podcast - Darren still hasn't figured out how to make a group challenge  anyone would think he works in IT.... Like, follow, subscribe
Here we are, just jibber-jabbering and putting the world to rights. Like we do
We're back! Hectic start to the season cooking up a feast at the store (and building a bike shop) and bear season meant a short hiatus. We got down to the Super Rad Enduro in Rockwood park, thanks to Be Rad Adventures and Tommy's Superette for putting this event together! NB needs more Enduro!!! We discuss trail systems, washed out camping trips and the dog gone weather! Check out Wild TV Q1 2024 to catch Wesley in North East Untamed!! Like, follow, subscribe

We're back! After a short, unplanned hiatus, we've got our poop together and the studio is finally upgraded! Snoring doggo included. We're catching up in this episode, squatch on the horn and the crew in the studio. Organized like squirrels with hand grenades we pick our way through. Lori in her rasta hat, Becci showing off her box (vital MTB) and general tom foolery abounds. Wes comes face to corn-hole with the cat and makes a gruesome observation...... Like, follow, subscribe
Welcome back! We're on the horn with Jesse Hildebrandt of Wildwood Cycles, Nanaimo BC. Infrequent traveller, and exquisite frame builder, Jesse gives us a brief glimpse into the world of bike design and fabrication. Bougie enough for Jeff, but clean enough for dangerholme.....
This episode we catch up with Louis-Paul from Edmundston. He's been heavy into building a seriously rad new trail system "Ray-Mont".... We took a trip to go check out his (mind blowing) handy work and marvel at some absolute insanity. Quite possibly the steepest trail in NB. It is not for beginners. Also, Rampage, squirrel, dog takes a piss on the new rug :/ Enjoy!! Like, follow, subscribe

This week we bring you the Pros! That's right, we're bumping shoulders with the elite at the UCI world cup in MSA, Quebec! An incredible win by Finn Iles, the first Canadian win @ MSA since Stevie Smith in 2013. #Longlivechainsaw Jackson Goldstone set the stage for a Canadian men's sweep as he took 1st and wrapped up the Junior overall title. A crash for Amaury Pierron dashed his hopes of wrapping up the elite overall title at MSA. We talk with the riders and enjoy an amazing, but exhausting weekend! Like, follow, subscribe

To tune or not to tune? That is the question. Are we actually getting the most out of our "factory" suspension, or is it just bling and bragging rights? This episode we catch up with Johnny Casebeer, CEO of Motool Inc to talk all about suspension. Johnny is a kick-ass musician, a former ostrich rancher, MX and MTB rider from the Pacific North West. Like us (us= Darren) he's a bit of a nerd when it comes to setup of both MX and MTB suspension. We get the low down on how the Slacker suspension tuner came to be, how to wrangle an ostrich, and more! 212
We catch up with Chris Norfolk from RVC and learn about the Fredericton-area trail systems, upcoming development, and riding bucket lists. This week we're catching up with Ben Cummings, man of many talents, host of the Homegrown show (and the new Homegrown podcast)! Now Ben isn't a mountain biker per se (we are working on that) but he does have some funny stories, and he's the PR guy for Fundy Biosphere among other things, so he's kind of a big deal in the tourism sector. We recently spent sometime with Ben, on mountain bikes, in Riverview NB so we figured it'd be great to go check out his humble homestead and get down with some of his crazy YouTube antics. Check out Ben's channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/BenCummings Like, follow, subscribe

Watch out for upcoming reviews and zwift results!! Like, follow, subscribe
It's Wesley's birthday and he's swallowing whole (pieces of cake)
We head to Hillsborough to check out Quest Carbon Cycles. Owner Dale, and operations manager Melissa give us a tour of Whiterock and let us loose on their Enduro and AMT models. We talk carbon fibre, starting a bike company, Kashima, and sweet, sweet enduro bikes. Standing in for Becci this week is the one and only Kiwi (Matt Blockley). We create complete chaos in her absence as she accompanied Erin on her first mountain bike-related trip to the ER, with a broken wrist! Check out www.questcarboncycles.com and find your Quest today!
For one last time we are on location at Sugarloaf Bike Park, New Brunswick, for the last chair of the 2021 season.
Quick get together of the troops discussing the cancellation of the MTB Atlantic summit, Vital MTB box, Chuck Norris jokes (completely lost on Becci) and some Fantasy DH. We do love Fantasy DH (Pinkbike). Two years later Darren's prize finally arrives!! Becci got some new bzz bzz stuff (AXS). Lori wants to hear from our listeners, she needs interaction people! Wez finally goes tubeless. The whole crew are gearing up for the last lift at Sugarloaf Bike Park this weekend (18/19th September). Send Lori your questions: mountainbikeconnection@gmail.com Join us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/mountainbikeconnectionpodcast
This episode we have a catch up because it's been a whole MONTH since we last sat down!! We talk about all our adventures since August, new stuff happening at The Bec, new bikes, and we even creep a listener on Instagram....
In this episode we discuss our recent Nova Scotia road trip. We visit Gore, McIntosh run, and of course Shubie pump track (great work Adam). Jase eats cheese and ham for lunch, we get a visit from the [trailer park boys] mother of the year 2021, and there was something else I'm forgetting..... Oh, LORI GOT A BIKE!!!!!! No more cooter bashing on the top tube, Lori finally got a new bike.
We're at the Sugarloaf Adrenaline festival this week, and we have Patrick Graves (SJ Trailminers, Be Rad) finally joining us for a chat! Greg Dionne gives us the low down on some new developments. We also sit down with JR Gauvin of Rebels Bike Shop in Campbellton and talk about the challenges of opening a shop during covid. Complete chaos ensues as we unleash Phillips, Blockley, Ricky, Yves and Barry on some beers and let them run wild!
Fresh off a trip to Fundy National Park and high on pump track vibes, we discuss what's new at the Becaguimec, the Fundy pump track (of course) and world cup DH mishaps. A new crew member at the Bec is having a wobble on one of the newer, gnarlier trails, and Wessy and Derek (Wez and Darren) are taking orders from Evie. Cameos from Tank and Erin (the noisiest human on earth).
This episode is pretty much a girls takeover as the East Coast Shred Sisters head over to Sugarloaf (sorry guys, this one's hard on the ears
This week we confuse Miss Lori with a couple of tools. No, not Darren and Wesley, real tools, from the tool box. Becci sounds like shit coz she's got the [ahem] "Allergies". Doesn't keep her quiet though. We also have Matt (kiwi) and Chris (Northshore Shredder) two Velo Bike Ski Trail ambassadors, trail builders, and good buddies on to discuss life and bikes in South east New Brunswick. Ricky is mostly frozen because he has crap internet.
Meet Peter, the man behind the Big Axe! We talk to Peter Cole of Big Axe brewery, and sample the Gnar She Gose collaboration brew. Robert, who is probably the foremost craft beer sampler (nerd) in all of Sussex, joins us to talk about the MTB Atlantic collaboration brews. This week we talk beer, poop, and bikes. Probably more beer and poop than bikes. Becci's mechanic sucks ass, and miss Lori is conspicuously absent (Darren's shoddy work again).....
An exciting announcement! #colla-beer-ation #bigaxe Darren hasn't got a clue what day it is, Wesley is out of town (because we're late recording). Lori gets new socks, and Becci smells colours. We also discuss the basics of wheel truing. Part 2 to follow.
Becci & Lori get technical (if you can call it that). Darren eats shit, and Wesley pilots his first drone flight with some epic slo-mo video. We also answer some questions from listeners, and talk about International women's mountain bike day. Check out the mountain bike connection page on Facebook for video evidence that your nan has more talent than Darren.
There are no ducks, and no rows. Only squirrels...... Everyone is so excited to ride, we just can't contain ourselves. Budget creme's all round though. Guest of honour is Scrappy Doo. Oh, and Andrew makes an appearance with his new bike!!!
In this episode Lori and Becci are wrestling with changing a tire (in practise for summer). We talk to Jeff Smith at COGS about some cool mapping software that he's developing. Wez finally washed his god-damn bike, and Darren is a wannabe midget Hulk Hogan.
In this episode Wes crams his cake hole full of cake. Lori FINALLY tests the she wee, Becci and Lori start a girl group, and Darren has the coordination of a baby moose. We also talk weight restrictions, "funny stick things" in Becci's bag, and other general nonsense. *There are NO birds in the studio (only dogs).
In this episode we chat about covid, what the outdoors means to each of us, and waking up at the "c r a c k of crow's piss". Our guest this episode is Kyle of the Scotian adventure & MTB channel (formerly Cycle dad). Like, share, subscribe & ring that bell!
A bunch of mountain bikers shooting the sh*t... Join Andrew, Becci, Darren, Lori and Wesley as they discuss the world of MTB (also known as Atlantic Canada) and get to grips with everything the east coast has to offer. In this episode we chat about the Becaguimec Trails, Lori's trail snacks, and absoluteBLACK chocolate (it's not really chocolate). Our guest this episode is Sam Bosence of MTB Atlantic.
