There have been so many conversations lately about this topic, and one thing that keeps coming up is how women's body parts are "trending." Back in the day when I was growing up, being stick-thin was the trend in the age of low-rise jeans. Whereas now, we're entering a phase where there's more acceptance for different body types – to a limit, of course. So how do we take care of our health without resorting to body-shaming or attaching so much value to the way we look that it becomes overwhelming. Should parental advice and ultimately be taken as toxic behavior, or is it just parents looking out for their child's best interest? We've all seen what self-care looks like on social media. We see Self-care through the lens of spas, and hair salons, shopping trips, and pretty drinks. Everything carries this tone of positivity that can become toxic. This view leads us to push down our feelings of overwhelm or stress instead of doing the hard work of taking care of our mental and physical health. If we look at another aspect, we are regularly told that we should be great full and say Alhamdulillah when the problem is not gratitude. It's stress, depression, anxiety, and feeling overwhelmed because of the emotional workload we have as women. How do we change this collectively so that our mindset, life expectations, and outlook are better? We hope you've enjoyed this episode. Boundaries were unheard of in our parents' generation. Is it more of a luxury to speak of boundaries now? It may seem like that when we set our boundaries even with our loved ones. Islamically, shouldn't set boundaries to be incumbent upon all of us? In this episode, we discuss how we should navigate our lives by setting clear boundaries that allow us to have satisfying and meaningful relationships. What happens when we don't set clear boundaries? Let's delve deeper into this topic. Thank you for listening.
