Walaupun hari raya 1 Syawal 1442 Hijriah tahun ini masih diliputi dengan suasana pandemi, akan tetapi spirit Ramdan yang terejawantahkan lewat kemenangan telah dirasakan oleh setiap kaum muslimin. Berbeda dengan sebuah etnis minoritas Islam yang berada di Xinjiang Cina. Mereka lebih dikenal dengan sebutan muslim Uighur. Bagi mereka merayakan hari raya tanpa tekanan dari pihak otoritas dan juga lebih leluasa merupakan kerinduan yang hingga kini belum terpenuhi. Hal tersebut terlihat dari suasana akhir Ramadan dan Idulfitri baru-baru lalu. Mereka, etnis Muslim Uighur, harus dengan lapang dada rela menerima perlakuan buruk serta tekanan yang datang dari pihak pemerintahan negeri Cina secara silih berganti, setelah sebelumnya puluhan masjid mereka dihancurkan. Gambaran ini tampak pada sebuah sudut kota Hotan, Xinjiang Cina yang terlihat dipenuhi tumpukan puing-puing bangunan. Lokasi yang dulunya dikenal sebagai tempat berdirinya Masjid Heyitkah, namun kini telah dirobohkan. Sementara itu, di sudut kota lainnya terlihat slogan “Didik Rakyat untuk Partai” terpasang dengan warna merah mencolok di dinding sebuah sekolah dasar. Setiap murid yang hendak memasuki gerbang yang dikelilingi kawat berduri itu pun harus memindai wajah mereka terlebih dahulu. Salah seorang penduduk Hotan memberi pernyataan demi mengenang Masjid Heyitkah.
