Before we dive into Demanufacture properly, this week we take some time talking about Fear Factor's albums from Archetype until this year's Aggression Continuum up and friends, to say it's a mixed bag would be an understatement. If you missed last week's episode, listen here. Largely this is down to interpersonal issues between the band, with Digimortal being the last time the “classic” lineup of Fear Factory would ever spend time in the studio together. There's some good stuff lying around these later day albums, and we do call out some of the interesting tracks, but your mileage may indeed vary with some of this. Then to wrap things up, we talk about Demanufacture itself. It's an interesting chat, and it goes in a couple of surprising directions too, as we discuss the larger concept at play on the record, Dave explains why he has so much love for the album and all three of the lads give us their final thoughts on the album and the band. Also, the nexus is a doozy as we have to link Baby Hitler to the band. Which is a lot easier than you might imagine (but not because the band are racist or anything). Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares is our guest this week! Front and center is the band's new album, Aggression Continuum, and the public spat between Cazares and former singer Burton Seabell, whose vocals appear on the album. Dino discusses the communication breakdown between he and Burton after recording the album in 2017, how he is handling all the negative attention from the fanbase, his response to reports of a physical altercation between he and Burton, the reason he left Burton's vocals on the record in spite of everything, and why the future of Fear Factory with a new vocalist is exciting for him. With the news that Fear Factory will release a brand new album in “Aggression Continuum” on June 18th through Nuclear Blast Records we catch up with founding member Dino Cazares to find out how it all went down! We discuss holding his own with Key board warriors, his side projects, movies that inspired the new album, updates on a replacement vocalist, what the future holds and a bunch more!

Normally when Fear Factory announce a record the spotlight is solely on that body of work and what delights fans can expect from it, but with the recent announcement of the bands latest album Aggression Continuum the news also broke that this would be vocalist Burton. C. Bell’s final album as frontman for the legendary band.Guitarist, songwriter and founding member Dino Cazares joined HEAVY for a chat during the week about a myriad of topics, starting with the musical direction of the new album."Musically it's a very pissed off record,” Cazares began. “It’s got some pretty intense moments on the album and one of the beauties about this record is that it’s got the beautiful contrasts of the heavy vocals and the melodic vocals, where as far as the guitar it's the same thing. It’s got all the killer riffage that you love from a Fear Factory record; it’s got all the killer double bass you love. We have created this monstrous tone for the killer vocals to be put on top then you've got guys like Rhys Fulber (Front Line Assembly) and Igor Khoroshev (ex-Yes) adding the keyboard elements so it's gonna be killer."The press release calls the album a brilliant and unpredictable new path for Fear Factory, a statement quickly shrugged off by Cazares.“Unpredictable!” he repeated in fits of laughter. “I just think that we've brought some different groove elements and some different time signatures to some of the songs. A song like "Recode" is a huge song and is very epic which is the opening track and a song like "Disruptor" is an instant banger, its just one of those songs that gets you the first listen.
