We are back and overflowing with game news! The video game summer Santa himself, Geoff Keighley, has come to town and left behind some shiny new trailers and announcements for all of us good kids. Whether you like first person horror or games or have really been craving a new Gitaroo Man, it has been a packed few weeks. Join us as we try to unpack a small portion of it!
Like the twisted version of Santa Claus that he is, once a year, Geoff Keighley comes out of his mousehole to host a grand event in Los Angeles that lets developers and publishers show off their up-and-coming games to the public via a broadcast presentation he calls the Summer Game Fest. So, it’s essentially LIKE Electronic Entertainment Expo in all but name, and like E3, the event engulfs the first week of June, and has already convinced other entities like Sony and Microsoft to coordinate the airings of their proprietary presentations around the showcase as well. And we here at Press Pause Radio took it ALL in to talk about it with y’all on this latest episode of the podcast (well, everything except for the Nintendo Direct, since the Big N sort of screwed scheduling-wise on that matter.) This week’s cast sees George, Andrew, and special guest Steve, one of the main hosts for the podcast, Fine Time on Super Pod Network, get together to break down PlayStation’s State of Play, Summer Game Fest, and the Xbox Showcase with their shared impressions and anticipated releases that were teased in the respective events. The discussed games include Mighty Cuphead Adventure, Marvel’s Wolverine, Resident Evil Veronica, God of War Laufey, Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Magician: The Devil’s Deal, Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, Crazy Taxi: World Tour, Stranger Than Heaven, and well, a hell of a lot more. We hope y’all enjoy, and while you’re at it—check out the guys over at Fine Time and their own Summer Game Fest episode when you’re done, OH, and be sure to send them your favorite Jack in the Box menu recommendations too! We're that much closer to Evangelion Kart. This week, it's absolutely incredible how many awesome things got announced at Sony's State of Play and Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest Showcase. Among those announcements and reveals, are God of War Laufey, Stellar Blade Blood Rain, and Final Fantasy VII Revelation. And those three are just a small sample of an endless barrage of premieres, updates, and gameplay from some of the coolest things the industry has cooking up. There's Star Wars, Wolverine, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and even Cuphead. And, no joke, that's still just scratching the surface. Not E3 is back and it delivered. Check out the show on BlueSky @MarkersOnTheMap.
What a week! Our jam-packed episode of Sacred Symbols covers all of the announcements from both Sony's State of Play presentation, as well as Geoff Keighley's Summer Games Fest showcase. And let's just say, there's a ton to get through. State of Play's 25 game roster included a fresh, expanded look at Wolverine, the reveal of Firesprite's long-rumored Until Dawn 2, and the confirmation of a brand new God of War game in the form of Laufey (plus a ton of third-party stuff, including Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Silent Hill: Townfall, Control Resonant, Phantom Blade 0, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, and more). Geoff's show went even harder, with a full 53 games displayed, including the culmination of the Final Fantasy VII Remake saga in the form of Final Fantasy VII: Revelation, the always-assumed Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake en route in 2027, two new Cuphead titles, the Stellar Blade sequel Blood Rain, and so on. We have other news this week, too -- MMORPG Horizon: Steel Frontiers has been delayed, California's legislature is going after developers and publishers who delist games, Fable has been delayed until next year, and so on -- but really, the meat of the show is all about these E3-like pressers. Even the questions at the end! So buckle up for one long episode of Sacred Symbols. Vengono promossi a pieni voti titoli come Fable, Clockwork Revolution e Doom: The Dark Ages.

Over All in the GameAll in the Game is de podcast over games voor iedereen. Het komt allemaal aan bod in All in the Game. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

One of the big shows coming up is Summer Game Fest, from Geoff Keighley himself. We expect a lot of big announcements at the show but we also expect some things to NOT be part of the show too. Let's talk about what we're expecting to see. Do you have a prediction or a reveal your hoping for? Let us know in the comments! This week on The Gaming Duo, we are not doing another predictions list. We are making cases. Tony Joins Kelvin and discusses what we may or may not see at Playstation State of Play. Instead of telling you what we think shows up, we are telling you what it MEANS if it does. From a potential Lies of P 2 world premiere to the end of PlayStation PC ports hiding inside a Wolverine reveal, we break down every pick with the angle nobody else is taking.Plus, Summer Game Fest week is bigger than just Geoff Keighley's stage, and we play the game nobody else is playing this week: not just what games show up, but WHERE they land. Does Final Fantasy VII Part 3 go to State of Play or SGF? Does Witchbrook drop at Wholesome Direct or the Xbox Showcase? Does Star Wars Eclipse finally resurface after five years of silence, and if so, on whose stage? We assign every missing game a home and defend the pick. All that and more, where friendships are built through gaming.
Posibles novedades relacionadas con Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Libertad absoluta. Eventos arcade. Primeras impresiones de Yoshi and the Mysterious Book El otro gran análisis del episodio gira alrededor de Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. Un nuevo RPG basado en The Lord of the Rings desarrollado por Warhorse Studios.

Tonight's questions: Are we nearing the end of gaming's “slop” era? Is analog gaming making a comeback? Will we see new interest in the Star Fox franchise? How did Geoff Keighley acquire the Torrence curse? To Richard, should we watch Mortal Kombat II? How much danger is Bungie in? Should Sony turn Bungie into a single-player studio? What do you want to see during SGF? Are rumors of a FromSoft pirate game true? Can you put a Steam Library in your will? Thanks as always to Shawn Daley for our intro and outro music. This week on GameBurst, the team digs into a packed fortnight for the industry, from blockbuster release confirmations to hardware surprises and the ongoing turbulence reshaping the games business. Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto VI remains firmly on course for its 19 November 2026 launch, with Take-Two's Strauss Zelnick confirming a summer marketing push — and developers moving swiftly to quash viral rumours of a third delay. Meanwhile, Playground Games has confirmed that its long-anticipated Fable reboot will arrive simultaneously on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC this autumn, breaking the franchise's historically Xbox-exclusive heritage and landing on Game Pass from day one. Two notable releases hit shelves this week: Capcom's sci-fi action title Pragmata and Nintendo's life simulator Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, both landing after years of anticipation. Nintendo also continues to build momentum around the Switch 2, with a Handheld Boost Mode update now enabling original Switch titles to run at 1080p in portable play, and Pokémon Champions dominating the eShop charts since its 8 April debut. Summer Game Fest 2026 is confirmed for 5 June at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, with Geoff Keighley also announcing the return of Play Days and a new trade event, The Game Business Live. And in hardware news, UK outfit Blaze Entertainment has unveiled the Evercade Nexus — its most ambitious handheld yet — featuring a 5.89-inch IPS screen, dual analogue sticks, wireless multiplayer, and a bundled Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack, priced at £169.99 and due in October. On a more sobering note, Ubisoft has announced a significant corporate restructuring, with further cuts at its Paris headquarters. The news arrives against a backdrop of continued industry-wide contraction, with a Newzoo/GDC survey finding around 28% of developers had been laid off in recent times. For picks of the week: Gary spotlights board game 1822: The Railways of Great Britain and Thomas & Friends: Wonders of Sodor; Jerome recommends The Rogue Prince of Persia and the Murderbot TV show on Apple TV; and Taylor highlights the Evercade VS-R alongside the excellent YouTube channel of Kim Justice. #gameburst YouTube links: Kim Justice: https://www.youtube.com/@Kim_Justice

This week, Zak and Aaron sit down to discuss yet another curious case of misguided marketing — this time with fewer questionable hats. Highguard, which secured the headlining spot at The Game Awards 2025 thanks to Geoff Keighley's personal fondness for the title, launched last week to overwhelmingly negative reviews on Steam and a rapidly dwindling player count. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Does the game deserve all of this hate, and will it ever be able to overcome it? Please, enjoy.Listen to Beach Girl on SpotifyCheck Out MosscatMarket on Instagram

Join Here: https://ow.ly/msoH50WCu0KThe latest Notorious Mass Effect segment from Analytic Dreamz delivers a no-holds-barred postmortem on Highguard, the free-to-play PvP raid shooter from Wildlight Entertainment that launched January 26, 2026, only to implode spectacularly. Featuring ex-Respawn talent including Dusty Welch, Jason McCord, Chad Grenier, and Mohammad Alavi, Highguard promised a fresh take on hero shooters with Warden characters raiding mythical continents across PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.Analytic Dreamz breaks down the brutal stats: an all-time Steam peak of 97,249 concurrent players cratered to a current 7,339 (-92% drop), with a 24-hour peak of just 19,296. Reviews sit at Mostly Negative (35% positive, 32.98% score from 18,000–21,000+ total), driven by massive empty maps in 3v3 matches, excessive mount downtime, bland hero abilities, poor optimization, crashes, Secure Boot/TPM 2.0 barriers, server instability, and matchmaking woes. The episode examines the fatal factors: oversaturated hero-shooter market (Marvel Rivals holding ~160,000 daily players), genre fatigue, radio-silent marketing post-The Game Awards 2025 world premiere (championed by Geoff Keighley, who faced backlash including calls to retire), and a shadowdrop launch echoing Apex Legends 2019—but without polish or clear identity. Analytic Dreamz covers Wildlight's response, including CEO Dusty Welch admitting trailer missteps and taking responsibility, plus Creative Director Jason McCord defending the silence strategy.Additional context includes near-zero Twitch viewership (~53 current, 5,343 24-hour peak), the Dr Disrespect fake preview controversy, and why this mirrors Concord's retention failure but on a faster timeline. This episode unpacks the launch death spiral, mismanaged hype, and slim revival odds in a fact-heavy, in-depth analysis.Tune in to Analytic Dreamz on Notorious Mass Effect for unfiltered gaming insights—subscribe now for more breakdowns on industry highs, lows, and everything in between. Highguard was hyped beyond belief due to its announcement at The Game Awards by Geoff Keighley, but it's turned out to be another Concord. The game has gotten pummeled by gamers on Steam, and it's already lost 90% of its players. Follow The Trophy Room Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/PStrophyroom Apple Podcast: https://apple.co/2PglU1a Discord: https://discord.gg/wPNp3kC Twitter: https://twitter.com/PSTrophyRoom ****** This episode covers a wide range of major gaming and entertainment industry updates, including new adaptations, studio developments, and ongoing industry conversations. Justin Lin, known for his work on the Fast and Furious franchise, is officially set to direct Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions' live-action Helldivers movie. With a script from Gary Dauberman, Lin is reportedly focusing on character, world-building, and thematic depth as he brings the popular Arrowhead Game Studios franchise to film. The long-anticipated Amazon God of War TV series is now moving into pre-production, with Frederick E.O. Toye directing the first two episodes. Casting has begun for Kratos and Atreus, putting to rest ongoing speculation about who will take on the lead roles. Toye's previous work on Shogun, The Boys, Westworld, and Watchmen signals a high-quality adaptation. Meanwhile, recent rumors linking Christopher Judge to the role have been dismissed. A mysterious statue discovered in the Mojave Desert, tied to a teaser from Geoff Keighley, has sparked intense speculation about what game it represents. Fans have theorized connections to God of War, Diablo, Fallout, Doom, Baldur's Gate, and even Half-Life due to nearby road names, but multiple insiders have ruled out several of these possibilities. The statue continues to generate discussion as more clues appear. Industry commentary also includes discussion around claims from HipHopGamer regarding a new PlayStation experience that could feature elements from all generations of PlayStation hardware and include a social component reminiscent of PlayStation Home. This speculation opens broader conversations about what PlayStation, Xbox, and PC gaming may look like in the next hardware cycle. The controversy involving Bungie's Marathon art dispute has reached a resolution, with artist Fern “4nt1r34l” Hook stating that the issue has been resolved to her satisfaction. Bungie previously acknowledged that a former employee had used her work without permission during the game's early development and removed the affected assets from the project. Yacht Club Games, the studio behind Shovel Knight, is facing a critical moment as it prepares for the release of Mina the Hollower. According to Bloomberg, the studio's future stability depends heavily on the game's sales performance. With the team having downsized and paused work on a separate 3D Shovel Knight project, the success of Mina the Hollower may determine the direction of the studio moving forward. Additional updates include a significant reduction to Helldivers 2's PC install size, a new limited-edition Genshin Impact DualSense controller for PS5, the soft launch of MLB The Show Mobile on iOS and Android, and new accusations that Sony used generative AI artwork for its PlayStation Advent Calendar promotional campaign. This episode brings together the biggest stories shaping PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and the wider gaming industry, with insight into upcoming adaptations, studio challenges, production reveals, and the future direction of gaming.
