Come in and know me better, Guy! It's Day 22 of the 25 Days of a Christmas Carol and boy golly, it's a Christmas miracle! Originally we were going to try and tackle a new 2020 Hallmark movie but we couldn't find it streaming either legally or illegally! So we called an audible and stumbled upon a movie from 2004 that was made for television called Karroll's Christmas which finally asks the question "what if the ghosts went to the wrong house?" It's a pretty wild movie but also good? Tom Everett Scott, Wallace Shawn, Larry Miller, VERNE TROYER! It's very strange but maybe the best version of this type of thing. Comedian Andrew Mayer stops by to discuss this hidden surprise! During the middle of the pandemic, Kristin Cagney had the amazing idea of becoming only 1 of 3 craft seltzer facilities in the United States. COVID be dammed, she went to work and acquired an amazing team with Ben Quinones as the head seltzerer and Andrew Mayer as the manager. Since opening up, even with strict COVID restrictions, they have surpassed their expectations and came on the podcast to discuss their origin story and where they see hard seltzer industry going in CLT. Go check them out www.summitseltzer.com --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/sweatlocalclt/message
Dearly beloved, we gather here today to cast another Boo Englund into Bill's Soul Pit for another year and helping us we've got the goodest buddies Will Smalley and Andrew Mayer to help us shuffle off this mortal coil. We gathered on Bill's 50th flipping birthday to watch the original Child's Play from 1988. Sean and Andrew had never seen it so Bill and Will pretended to hold their hands to guide them through this baby murder doll story! Good times abound!
So have you been yearning for something besides beer and wine? (Nothing against those guys... just sometimes... you want something different.) If you're looking for something a little lighter, that you can sit and sip, and be social, too -- we know just what you're looking for. The hard seltzer industry is BLOWING UP this year, and Charlotte's about to get its first hard seltzery. Yes, that's a thing. There are only 2 others custom-built like this one in the country, and now, we have one here in Charlotte. Let's give a big, bubbly welcome to Kristin Cagney, owner of Summit Seltzer and her general manager, Andrew Mayer. They're opening up on the West Side today!
What's the DEAL with airplane food? And comedy, for that matter? We're joined by comedian Andrew Mayer to talk about stand-up and the many painful quirks of the artform. We're talkin': trying to tell jokes while failing to break a stupid world record, almost opening for Rage Against the Machine, The Scorpion King soundtrack, recording live albums, non-premium Spotify, pay-to-play schemes, shit-ass roommates and embarrassing college stories (feat. Jordan), Joe hating improv, the impossible goal of success, class solidarity among artists, and scoping eBay for vintage Bob Saget t-shirts. This one's a change of pace, but goddammit, it's a good one. Music COMEDY featured on this episode: Andrew Mayer's - Having a Nice Time available now on Spotify and iTunes. Follow Andrew on Twitter. On this episode of the podcast I talked remotely with comedians Dan Martin and Andrew Mayer about how the recent Covid-19 pandemic and quarantine has affected their expected comedy album releases. Please support comedians during this maddening time by listening to both Dan and Andrew’s albums. And, lastly, times are tough for everyone right now, […] The post Comedy Albums in the Time of Covid appeared first on COMEDIAN. ACTOR. PODCASTER..
In today's episode, I sit down with Simone Rizkallah, Catholic writer, speaker, and feminine genius and ask her, “How did you get here?” Simone is the Director of Program Growth for Endow, an apostolate that unites the Catholic intellectual tradition with intentional community by creating study guides and organizing women into small groups. Apostolate is a $10 Catholic word for “lay ministry.” Show notes and links to what Simone and I discussed on this episode (and there are many!) can be found on my blog: http://robdrapeau.com/hdygh-episode-5-show-notes/ Special Thanks To BPD for producing the show To Jon Cline and Andrew Mayer who tried to salvage the audio from my estupidez. To Simone for being our First Lady!
What's the best part of being a sloth? Which special skill would you rather put on your resumé "impervious to bees" like the honey badger or "able to be submerged in water indefinitely" like a turtle? This week Boston's best comedians tackle all the toughest questions about the great outdoors.
This week we have something a little different for you. During Gamestorm 18, I was part of a panel that contained members of the Pathological NerdCasters Network. I was joined by TC and Carissa of the Tattered Board Podcast, Brandon Burke of Spaghetti & Meeples, and Andrew Mayer of Level Up Design Podcast. We had some hiccups and technical difficulties with a wire short with one of the mics, but overall it came out pretty well. We had a blast chatting amongst each other and all the guests that joined us during the panel. We are working on the video from it and will have it up soon on PNCN’s YouTube Channel. So, here you go! Liquid Trance Mission. On a Trance Mission! If you do not like trance, be it a 120 or 140 bpm, keep well away! You are warned! But if you are missing those days, download or stream and DO NOT SCROLL, this set is a Journey !!! Once upon a time in Melbourne, Australia, there was an underground dance collective called “Liquid”. It was a private, somewhat secret, dance club, which, once every two months, would send an sms to its members and announce on the day where the next reunion would be. Members were co-opted, with a one gig trial, whence if you did not fit, you were blacklisted with no second chance. Liquid was all about the music and the dance. What Liquid was NOT about was the clothes, the stilettoes, the designer hand-bags and the pre-requisite to “get sorted beforehand” (it was not about that either.). The only pre-requisites were: a bottle of water, good comfy trainers, a positive attitude and an able pair of dancing legs.. This community was diverse: the occasional pre-nekos mixing it up with the fluo & vinyl trance heads, the baggy tracksuit crowd and the somewhat more stylish goers. Yet, for all its diversity, it was a sharply homogenous group sharing a love for dance and music between like-minded peaceful people. They would not really hang out socially but for those few Liquid nights, it was strictly all about the DANCE! The music was mainly Trance (the 80s/90’s Ibiza style), not the hard crap but more the classical/vocal happy trance and what we did not know at the time was going to become Progressive House. The night was always a journey and when the DJ was dropping the 135 bpm + tunes, we were just soaking it in as it was only delivered at the very peak off the journey. This was SO last century.. 15 YEARS AGO. This set is the soundtrack of what a "Liquid" night could be, if held today! If anyone of those by-gone years read and hear this ( I won’t name and shame any of us) this is for YOU and ME! Playlist 2011 Thing Called Love (Arkum Filmscape vs. Andrew Mayer vs. PROFF vs Above & Beyond Clum Remix) [Xtian Mash-up and Edit w/Senheuser Samples & Pads). Above & Beyond feat. Richard Bedford 2006 No One On Earth (San Francisco Mix). Above & Beyond. 2011 Promises (Myon & Shane 54 Summer Of Love Intro Mix). Andain 2009 Lonely Girl (Gareth Emery Remix). Above And Beyond feat. Oceanlab 2009 Lonely Girl (Original Mix vs PROFF Remix) [Xtian Edit]. Above And Beyond feat. Oceanlab 2011 Love Is Not Enough (Original Mix) {Xtian Grooved Edit). Above & Beyond & Zoe Johnston 2008 The Ones that Get Away (Lost Love Dub vs. Extended Intro Mix) [Xtian Mashed Edit]. Arnej 2008 Take Me Away (Re-Ward Dub). 4 Strings 2011 Falling Away (Armin van Buuren Remix) [Xtian the DJ is Calling Me Edit]. Hannah 2011 Feels So Good (Jerome Ima-Ae Remix). Armin van Buuren feat Nadia Ali 2011 Pressure (Clokx Extended Commercial Remix). Alex Kenji, Starkillers, & Nadia Ali 2011 We Control the Sunlight (Original Mix). Aly & Fila feat Jwaydan Highlights: “No One on Earth” and “Love Is Not Enough” two A&B tracks are a cut above the rest, both courtesy of Christopher Doyle. I added Synth & pads but the structure of both tunes is so classical, the vocals so pure, this is Trance heaven. “Lonely Girl” is a catchy, hands up in the air Trance jam and will undoubtedly feature in my NY set. Armin’s “Fallen Away” being such a rip off (surely intentional and credited) of 4 Strings ‘ “Take Me Away”, they had to follow each other in spite of my original intention not to use tunes I knew. As for Nadia Ali, well, I cannot go into Trance/Progressive House and not include something of Nadia. Finally, “We Control the Sunlight”, I could see with Viv & the kids when I played the set for them that such a frantic pace was pushing the boundary but somehow I felt that it was the peak time tune befitting the end of the set.. Next upload will feature original takes on tunes we all know, more progressive & commercial than pure Trance… We are off to my beloved Trouse. Xtian
Andrew Mayer, associate professor of translational neuroscience at MRN, assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at UNM, and licensed clinical psychologist in New Mexico, is investigating whether multimodal neuroimaging techniques provide an objective bio-marker for both diagnosing mild traumatic brain injury patients as well as predicting outcome on more traditional cognitive and emotional indices. He is also interested in determining whether these bio-markers may change as a function of recovery, which is expected to occur in the majority of mild TBI patients.
Hey, it’s Andrew Mayer talking about how social games will take over the world! And he’s not even saying that like it’s a bad thing! That’s why I recorded the first ten minutes with monkeys typing on typewriters in the background. At least that’s what the weird interference sounds like to me. It stops almost […] The post Qt3 Games Podcast: Andrew Mayer and Farmville appeared first on Quarter to Three.
