Dr. John Demartini, Polymath and Human Behavior Expert, joins Josh Trent on the Wellness + Wisdom Podcast, episode 634, to enlighten you about how you can make life-changing alterations by simply asking yourself different questions, why trauma is not about what happens to you, and how to make unconscious information conscious. "The quality of your life is based on the quality of the questions you ask because questions make unconscious information conscious. If you ask the questions, why did this happen to me? Andrew is based in New Zealand and has been a professional artist for over 20 years. He focuses not only on producing the absolute best work that he can create, but also focuses on helping others learn to do the same through his podcast, YouTube Channel, and Patreon while also balancing his time so he can be present with his family. We discuss the importance of self-development to find your authentic voice, why being moved is the key to moving others, why art created with inner motivation is more powerful than art created from an exterior motivation, and why stepping into different roles can help you move forward in every part of your life. Finally, we discuss how to transition from day-job to full time artist, focusing on your time-management to achieve that goal, and why working on your social media will pay off so long as you're patient and consistent. https://tischler.nz Hi, my friends call me Tisch, I'm here to help you become the artist you are meant to be. I've been a professional artist for the last 20 years. In that time I've sold paintings to collectors internationally, worked on massive commissioned projects, I've had a few sell out shows and rubbed shoulders with the rich and famous on epic “artist in residencies”, but nothing compares the joy I feel when teaching others and passing on what I've gathered. I would love to share with you what I've learned and help you with your own artistic journey so you can take your art to the next level. A little about me: I was born in Texas and showed promise in art from an early age. I was always the kid in class who drew. I would cover the inside of my file, and school books with drawings, mostly dinosaurs and aliens. On the weekends, if I wasn't playing cricket, climbing trees or playing roller-hockey I created art in my room. My interest for creating was nurtured by my supportive father who's a renowned sculptor. In highschool I decided to take art more seriously, realising this was what I wanted to dedicate my life to. I became laser-focussed and shut out the outside world in my senior year and painted and drew like crazy. I got accepted into a university art school, which was a 3 year degree (I wouldn't recommend it). With heavy leaning towards conceptual art I stumbled through, but ultimately embraced the fact I was a representational painter, in love with the old masters. I fell into the life of a professional artist shortly after I finished university and then discovered a passion for teaching. I started teaching classes to groups of 10 people at a time, in Perth Western Australia – I watched YouTube videos all the time but never thought of giving the platform a shot, until 6 years ago when I started my channel and uploaded my first video. Since then, I haven't looked back. The digital medium has allowed me to reach people on a global scale. From YouTube I thought I could offer even more, with full length tutorials here on my website. There's so many technical aspects to painting that it's difficult to condense into a 15 minute clip, so having long form tutorials really enables students to get the necessary information to develop their skills. I can pour everything into long form video and I hold nothing back – openly sharing techniques that have taken me nearly 20 years to develop. Two years ago I started a Patreon page which has since grown into my online academy, I call “Tisch Academy”. I discovered this was a beautiful way to build and take part in an interactive community – full of artists; seeing the growth and comradery amongst our community has been inspiring to say the least. From beginners to professionals, the Academy community is dedicated to the craft of painting & sharing a love for art. I create exclusive content taking a holistic approach to art, focussing not only on technique but business and personal development as well. Our exclusive community is fast approaching 2000 members. In recent years I moved to New Zealand with my sweetheart Rachel, who I've been married to for 11 years. We have a beautiful son, Hugo, and a particularly naughty puppy, Alfie. It's been a wild and fulfilling journey so far. I hope to see you in the studio!

Hannah Olson is an artist and mother of 3 girls, living in Utah, USA. Originally from Luton England, she has enjoyed being creative from a very young age. In High School she had 2 really wonderful art teachers that pushed her and introduced her to many mediums like watercolour, charcoal and pencils, and encouraged her to pursue it. A high school teacher's words have remained with her "It doesn't matter what you do, but always stay creative."In College she decided to take all of the art classes she possibly could and discovered oil painting and fell in love with it. She tends not to stick to the same mediums, or subject matters, mixing it up between charcoal and watercolours, painting portraits, landscapes and still life's. Hannah really enjoys the challenge of working with new materials and subjects. She is inspired by many artists like William Bouguereau, Sargent, Van Gogh, Carl Rungius and more recent artists such as Jenedy Paige, Cesar Santos, and Andrew Tischler. While being a mum to three little ones is not easy, she finds time to paint and draw in between nappy changes, piles of wash, and endless messes.Although her children are her main focus right now she can't wait for the chance to create more and inspire others through her work.Today we are joined by Hannah's 5 month old daughter Millie today in the podcast.Hannah- website / instagramPodcast - instagram / websiteIf today's episode is triggering for you in any way I encourage you to seek help from those around you, medical professionals or from resources on line. In this week's episode, Tom interviews New Zealand based artist, Andrew Tischler. Andrew has been a professional artist for the past 17 years. He is drawn to vast landscapes, people, objects and animals, painting a wide variety of subjects in a realist style. His goal for every painting is to achieve a convincing sense of reality and break the constraints of the two dimensional surface. His obsession with realist painting led him to study many of the great masters from the past and seek to understand how they made such magnificent pictures. From this, alongside his passion for painting, he has developed a passion for teaching and is eager to share what he has learnt over the years. He is not only a very successful painter but he has also amassed a huge following on YouTube having started his channel in 2016 which has now grown to over 400k followers. Andrew begins by telling Tom a bit about his back story and how he got to be an artist, before he and Tom dive into the world of online content - what is it and how can we create it, alongside creating our art work?Tom and Andrew discuss the why's and wherefore's, the do's and don'ts and how, if it's ever possible, to create a balance between authentically creating art and creating content. Andrew openly shares his wealth of experience but ultimately concludes by saying that each artist's journey will be unique; in the same way that there isn't just one way to be an Artist, there isn't just one way to create online content as part of your art career. An insightful interview and a must listen for any Artist or creative considering going into the world of video tutorials. If you want to find out more about Andrew and his work, you can visit his website: https://www.andrewtischler.comTo support Andrew on Patreon and have access to exclusive content, take a look here: https://www.patreon.com/AndrewTischlerArtist

Andrew Tischler pursues artistic truth in his painting. Currently residing in New Zealand, Andrew was born in Texas. Later, his family immigrated to Australia when he was a young child. The son of sculpturer, Andrew loved to look at his father’s art books. He became enthralled with American wildlife painter Carl Rungius. Moved by the paintings he saw, Andrew began painting at a young age, and quickly progressed to become a professional, full-time artist by the time he was 21 years of age. Early in his career, Andrew strove to create quality paintings. In order to do that, he felt the need to work out a methodology to produce consistent quality. He became obsessed with the process of painting. Andrew likens his obsession to surfers who go around the world searching to catch the perfect wave. He is addicted to the search and the chase of an idea for a painting, and he is addicted to the feeling of making the best painting possible. This episode clocks in at over two hours long. Andrew does not hold back! He explains where his ideas for a painting comes from and how he develops that idea. Andrews shares three questions all artists should ask when developing an idea. He says these questions have transformed his career as an artist. Though Andrew achieve early financial success as a professional artist - like a lot of artists he was affected by the global downturn in the economy. That downturn taught him the importance of diversifying his sources of income and in this episode he explains how he has accomplished that. In this episode, we cover: 5:00 how Andrew looks at making connections with other people, and why he enjoys it. How he thinks about reaching out. Most of Andrew’s sales come from his art tours when he teaches advanced painting techniques. He makes money from teaching, but the courses also generate sales from collectors and other artists. He’s also selling prints. 13:00 Andrew talks about his first art show at 19 years old. His father is a sculptor, and Andrew worked at a gallery, so he had a mentor to help him with his first show. Andrew talks about how much work it really was to do that first show. He did his research before he picked the location. 23:00 if you were in any other business, you would be tracking inventory, hours worked, and other numbers by default. Artists need to track their hours and inventory. 29:30 how email, social media, and other online marketing has evolved and changed Andrew’s business. andrewtischler.com
