Any day now, counting down the seconds, the kids will be back at school if yours haven't gone already. And this year, maybe, hopefully, fingers crossed, will be the year that our education system gets back on track. Certainly, Erica Stanford's bigging up the new focus on structured learning. A press release out from her office says, as schools start back for 2025, there will be a relentless focus on teaching the basics brilliantly so all Kiwi kids grow up the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to grow the New Zealand of the future. A world leading education system is a key driver to economic growth. Our future playwrights and songwriters need to have a mastery of literacy and numeracy as much as our future mechanical engineers, doctors and electricians, and so on and so forth. It's kind of a call to arms for teachers and parents from Erica Stanford. There's also an op-ed piece from a math's and statistics teacher in the Herald this morning, Peter Wills. He says, and he's looking at the failure rates for NCEA Level 1, the news that Kiwi kids did poorly in NCEA comes as no surprise. Last month, NCEA results came out and we saw that in 2024 30% of students failed Level 1, slightly under a third of our kids could not pass basic numeracy and literacy tests associated with NECA Level 1. That was this 18% in 2023. Erica Stanford said the results were expected, that there'd be a high proportion of students who would not pass because they were putting in minimum standards. Now most countries we compare ourselves to - United Kingdom, Ireland, Singapore, the US and Australia all have numeracy and literacy tests and these have been introduced because we know it's bad, but we need know how bad it is. 30% couldn't pass NCEA Level 1 last year. So: If you don't have NCEA level 1, it's really difficult to get a decent job, to enter any kind of training. Just by passing NCEA Level 1 on average, a student earns $12K more a year and is significantly more likely to get a job and enter training. They've got more choices. You get an education, you have more choices. You don't have to be a brain surgeon you know, but you are still going to need basic numeracy, basic literacy to get any kind of job you want. Getting students to pass the CAA S, which is the literacy and numeracy test is a top priority for schools across New Zealand, Peter Wills says. Mercifully, though he doesn't advocate dropping standards, which you can imagine other administrations might opt for to allow more young people to pass. He says maths teachers are adamant that the standard not be lowered to compensate for low pass rates. You teach better, you teach differently. You give the kids the basic skills they need to pass. What we had before wasn't working and you know that, employers know that, parents know that. That's why so many parents are spending thousands of dollars per child every year to shore up the gaps in their children's knowledge with private tuition, or sending them to private schools. They know the state education is, and has been, sub-standard, and it's not the fault of the teachers, it's the policy wonks in the Ministry of Education, whose half baked theories? Formulated over dinner parties in Kelburn, inexplicably and inexcusably made it into the classroom. And for decades now our once world-famous education system has degraded to where it is now. 30% of kids last year not passing the most basic secondary school exam. So as we start the school year as we with a call to arms from Erica Stanford and structured learning is going to be the saviour – and let's hope it is. When it comes to employers, what are you seeing coming out of our schools at the moment? According to Peter Wills, it will be seven years before we see any benefits from structured learning. We've got concerns about our productivity, we've investors as you heard this morning, travelling New Zealand looking for bright young things with startup ideas. Where the hell are those bright young things going to come from if we don't embrace the structured learning and reclaim our world class education. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this interview, I'm joined by two leading thinkers who are helping to reshape our understanding of consciousness, the nature of reality, and the pursuit of meaning in life: Dr Iain McGilchrist and Dr Bernardo Kastrup. Iain is a neuroscientist, psychiatrist, author, and philosopher perhaps most well known for his Hemispheric Hypothesis and his books: The Master and his Emissary and The Matter with Things. Bernardo is an author, scientist, philosopher, and the Director of the Essentia Foundation. He holds two PhDs - one in philosophy and the other in engineering. His work has been leading the modern renaissance of metaphysical idealism, the notion that reality is essentially mental. In this conversation, we explore: — Their views on what consciousness is, the common ground in their thinking, and the differences — The extent to Iain and Bernardo believe we live in a purposeful and intelligent universe, and their perspectives on the question of God — Why they both consider truth to be the most important thing in life — Where they see human life fitting into the larger whole and what case can be made that each of our individual subjective experiences do matter. I hope you get as much from this fascinating discussion as I did from recording it. You can learn more about Iain's work at https://channelmcgilchrist.com, and Bernardo's at https://www.bernardokastrup.com. -- Dr Iain McGilchrist is a Psychiatrist and Writer. He is committed to the idea that the mind and brain can be understood only by seeing them in the broadest possible context, that of the whole of our physical and spiritual existence, and of the wider human culture in which they arise – the culture which helps to mould, and in turn is moulded by, our minds and brains. He was formerly a Consultant Psychiatrist of the Bethlem Royal and Maudsley NHS Trust in London, where he was Clinical Director of their southern sector Acute Mental Health Services. Dr McGilchrist has published original research and contributed chapters to books on a wide range of subjects, as well as original articles in papers and journals, including the British Journal of Psychiatry, American Journal of Psychiatry, The Wall Street Journal, The Sunday Telegraph and The Sunday Times. He has taken part in many radio and TV programmes, documentaries, and numerous podcasts, and interviews on YouTube, among them dialogues with Jordan Peterson, David Fuller of Rebel Wisdom, and philosopher Tim Freke. His books include Against Criticism, The Master and his Emissary: The Divided Brain and the Making of the Western World, The Divided Brain and the Search for Meaning, and Ways of Attending. He published his latest book: The Matter With Things, a book of epistemology and metaphysics. You can keep up to date with his work at https://channelmcgilchrist.com. Bernardo Kastrup is the executive director of Essentia Foundation. His work has been leading the modern renaissance of metaphysical idealism, the notion that reality is essentially mental. He has a Ph.D. in philosophy (ontology, philosophy of mind) and another Ph.D. in computer engineering (reconfigurable computing, artificial intelligence). As a scientist, Bernardo has worked for the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the Philips Research Laboratories (where the ‘Casimir Effect' of Quantum Field Theory was discovered). Formulated in detail in many academic papers and books, his ideas have been featured on Scientific American, the Institute of Art and Ideas, the Blog of the American Philosophical Association and Big Think, among others. Bernardo's most recent book is Science Ideated: The fall of matter and the contours of the next mainstream scientific worldview. Leave Wellness + Wisdom a Review on Apple Podcasts Power Quotes From The Show You Decide What Truth Is "Everything that you need to do to take back your life is the exact same to actually be one of the strongest humans on the planet. Your goal is to change how you feel about life, not what is truth, because truth is not real. It's all what you decide is truth. You get to decide what is good or bad with integrity in your soul, and you get to decide what success is." - Dane Johnson Choose Your Reality "I chose a reality that I'm already healed, that my body is already healing and I'm on my way up. Instead of living in the reality that I'm not there yet and this can't work and I'm exhausted, I'm gonna burn out and quit. Every vibration, every word out of your mouth, every conversation is now more beautiful, more helpful for everyone else, including yourself. Because I believe what is good for others is also good for yourself." - Dane Johnson Be of Value to Others "One of the hardest things spiritually is that you are no longer of value to anybody. Everyone has to do everything for you when you're sick. And so I took back my power to be of value to others. And that is so spiritually nourishing. What gives us all the most value in our life is how we are of service to others." - Dane Johnson Links From Today's Show Dane Johnson Garrain Jones | Harmonized Human: How To STOP Suffering + Create The New 2.0 Version of YOU FREE JOURNAL Dry Farm Wines: Get an extra bottle of Pure Natural Wine with your first membership order for just 1¢ 345 Zach Bush MD: Humanity, Consciousness & COVID19 Unlimited Power by Tony Robbins Josh's Trusted Products | Up To 40% Off Shop All Products Biohacking MANNA Vitality - Save 20% with code JOSH20 HigherDOSE - 15% off with the code JOSH15 PLUNGE - $150 off with discount code WELLNESSFORCE Pulsetto - Save 20% with code "JOSH" SaunaSpace - 10% off with discount code JOSH10 Ultrahuman Ring Air - 10% off with code JOSH Wellness Test Kits Choose Joi - Save 50% on all Lab Tests with JOSH Blokes - Save 50% on all Lab Tests with JOSH FertilityWize Test by Clockwize - Save 10% with code JOSH Tiny Health Gut Tests - $20 off with discount code JOSH20 VIVOO Health Tests - Save 30% off with code JOSH SiPhox Health Blood Test - Save 15% off with code JOSH Nutrition + Gut Health Organifi - 20% off with discount code WELLNESSFORCE SEED Synbiotic - 25% off with the code 25JOSHTRENT

The Uncertainty Principle, also known as Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle, is a concept in quantum mechanics. Formulated by the German physicist Werner Heisenberg in 1927, it states that there is a limit to the precision with which certain pairs of physical properties, such as position and momentum, can be simultaneously known. In simpler terms, the more accurately we know the position of a particle, the less accurately we can know its momentum, and vice versa. This principle highlights the inherent limitations in measuring quantum systems and is a key feature distinguishing quantum mechanics from classical physics.
Menopause brain is real, and it's more than just the occasional forgetfulness or brain fog. In this episode, I had the honor of interviewing again the brilliant Dr. Lisa Mosconi, a world-renowned Neuroscientist, to uncover the intricate changes in brain health during menopause. Dr. Lisa, often called “The Mona Lisa of Neuroscience,” delves deep into how hormonal shifts impact our neurological well-being. Learn why hormone therapy could be essential and discover groundbreaking research that could change how we approach this critical life stage. Dr. Lisa and I discussed menopause as a time of renewal rather than a period of decline. She shares profound insights on how estrogen and progesterone influence brain health and the surprising connections between hot flashes, cardiovascular, and neurological health. This episode redefines menopause as a vital stage of life, highlighting opportunities for growth and empowerment. Listen in to understand the powerful role of hormones and how they shape our experiences during menopause. Are you ready to reclaim your vitality and intimate wellness? Key Takeaways: [00:02:14] Common menopausal complaints. [00:07:24] Alzheimer's disease and menopause. [00:10:30] Menopause and brain health. [00:12:28] Neurological impact of menopause. [00:50:18] Positive perspectives on aging. [00:56:18] Neurosteroids in the brain. Memorable Quotes: "There's no such vocabulary or range for menopause. We just assume it's the same for everyone. Whereas it's very similar. Some women, a few women are almost suicidal during menopause. Some women develop rage. Some women just cry and they're effectively depressed, they're hormonally depressed. And there's just no recognition of this and there's no support system in place, which I find extremely upsetting." [00:17:19] – Dr. Lisa Mosconi "Hot flashes are not just a quality of life issue. For many years, that was the notion that you have a hot flash, you just grin and bear it, and eventually it'll go away. And now there's an understanding that a hot flash is not just heat, it's a neurological reaction that impacts multiple systems, multiple biological and neurophysiological systems, then need to be taken quite seriously because it may be a sign of a disruption in the cardiovascular system and potentially the neurological system." Dr Bernardo Kastrup is an author, scientist, philosopher, and the Director of the Essentia Foundation. He holds two PhDs - one in philosophy and the other in engineering. His work has been leading the modern renaissance of metaphysical idealism, the notion that reality is essentially mental. This conversation mostly focuses on Bernardo's unique perspective on UAPs (also commonly referred to as UFOs). We also touch on the significance of Carl Jung's book: “Answer to Job” and its potential for providing a sustainable source of transcendent meaning in a secular world. In our final episode of the "Doctors Gone Rogue" series, we're paying tribute to a true legend in the field of holistic medicine. Today, we honor the remarkable legacy of Dr. John McDougall, who passed away last month. I'm also excited to feature the incredible work of Dr. Joel Kahn, known as "America's Healthy Heart Doc." Both are plant-based doctors who believe in food as medicine. First up, let's talk about Dr. Joel Kahn. Dr. Kahn transitioned from traditional cardiology to holistic practices after experiencing the profound benefits of a plant-based vegan diet himself. Believing in the power of nutrition for heart health, he now focuses on non-traditional diagnostic tools and prevention tactics. This interview feels more like a night at the Laugh Factory than a conversation with a cardiologist! Dr. Kahn's blend of facts and humor had us in stitches as we covered topics like nutrition, longevity, sex, stress, and “how not to die!” Next, we turn our attention to the beloved Dr. John McDougall. A physician and nutrition expert, Dr. McDougall dedicated his life to teaching the power of a whole-food, starch-based diet in preventing and reversing chronic diseases. His journey began after a massive stroke at age 18, which led him to embrace holistic, plant-based nutrition as a path to true healing. Dr. McDougall's legacy is monumental. He founded the renowned McDougall Program, authored best-selling books, and passionately advocated for dietary therapy as a cornerstone of health. His impact on the medical community and the lives of countless patients is immeasurable. On June 25th, Dr. McDougall's daughter, Heather McDougall, announced his passing. Dr. McDougall leaves behind quite the legacy, and we re-play this interview to honor that legacy today. So, let's dive into this special episode, the final episode of the "Doctors Gone Rogue" series, honoring the legacies of Dr. Joel Kahn and Dr. John McDougall. These two plant-based doctors are living proof of the healing power of nutrition. They have bucked the traditional route of medicine and truly embody the notion that food heals. Today we celebrate the innovators, the mavericks, and the rebels who went rogue. In the words of Steve Jobs, “Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” That iconic quote by Steve Jobs perfectly captures the essence of our new limited series, "Doctors Gone Rogue." These are the trailblazers who saw beyond the confines of traditional medicine. They believed in the body's incredible ability to heal itself when given the right tools and environment. Dr. Edward Group Meet Dr. Edward Group, a chemist on the path to becoming a heart surgeon who realized that allopathic medicine treated symptoms but not the root cause. This is Josh Trent. This is Wellness + Wisdom, the podcast where we gather, apply, and most importantly, y'all, embody these 5 sides that we get to nourish ourselves in. The physical, the mental, the emotional, the spiritual, and also the financial. We signed up to master every single part of 1 of these 5 sides. Today is AMA number 637. We're talking about relationships. And this is a really, really timeless and timely episode. [05:05] How To Love Yourself + Your Partner All right, let's get into this question with Dana. We're just going to do this 1 question today for the AMA because it deserves a lot of depth and full transparency here. Dana has written in a few times, she's recorded a few messages. Thank you, Dana, for being such a great part of this audience. Let's listen to the question from Dana. The storybook we start out with before walking down the aisle evolves and changes. After about 15 years of marriage, maybe even 10 years of marriage. The spouse says, I don't like who you're being over time, one of them evolved. The storybook started as, you know, I want my wife to stay home so she can raise our children. And one day she wakes up and says, I need more. Not that I need you to give it to me, but I need to do something. And then comes a whole bunch of other stories, guilt. This isn't what I wanted, whatever. And I've seen this over the years, working in people's homes and really paying attention to just the littlest how not hearing somebody not speaking up, it changes it. And it changes love, I believe, you know, you can love someone, but do you love them unconditionally? Because they want to change because they want something different now because they want a career. It's just an idea. It was cool it was more of like a statement rather than a but it's really really fun to expand upon because there is a quote and I don't know who it was from, but it goes something like this. When it comes to love and relationships, specifically intimate relationships, 1 must be willing to die a thousand deaths to be able to love the person that is a rebirth each time. And that is actually what I think Dana, you're touching upon. And for all of us that have been in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, even decades-long relationships, you know that I'm speaking the truth. When you look at relationships through a lens of true unconditional love, and this is something where we'll link in the show notes the episode that I did with Margo my lady, my mother, my children, my life partner, my everything, Carrie Michelle. One thing that came up during that podcast that was birthed through me was the death of the old way that I saw love. I did not have the faculty, the emotional or mental faculty to actually love Carrie Michelle for who she was, because there was this element that really I was in fear of losing her. I was in fear of losing her. I was in micro ways and some macro ways controlling the relationship. And it wasn't until I got very clear through the guidance of Margo running, through our support with the plant allies, through ceremony, through breath work, through presence, through doing the real work, which by the way is really hard, lots of tears, but lots of death, lots of death of the old version of myself. And what I learned from this was, if I can unconditionally choose to unconditionally love her, starting with unconditionally loving myself, that is the ticket to freedom. That is the ticket to liberation had to come to terms with, and it really was connected to my own death. And I don't know if y'all can relate to this. If you have a fear of dying, then that is your path to do work on because fear of dying really is just connected to sadness. It's just connected to sadness that you won't be able to make love with your partner again. You won't be able to hold your children again. You won't be able to eat an orange naked on the top of a hillside when coming up. There are so many things that we won't get to do anymore. And so instead of having anger or sadness or grief around the idea of death, understand that our fear of death Is connected to fear of loss in a relationship. As we talked about with my mentor and with my friend Mark Tollefson, that we'll also link here in the show notes, it's not that we fear death, it's that we fear being in union with the not having the answer of what mystery wants when we're gone. When we leave human form, there's an uncertainty. There's a not knowingness about where we go and what that is. And I think that's the way that the creator designed it, by the way. So the connection between fearing our own death and accepting the death of each stage of a relationship, remember, we have to be willing to die a thousand deaths and fall in love with our man or woman over and over and over and over again because that is what love wants. True unconditional love does not mean I will love you if. True unconditional love does not mean I will only give you my love if. True unconditional love just wants to express itself. That's really what unconditional love is. Now, many of us, and Mar, I'm sure you can relate to this. We grew up in situations with our parents, God bless them. We love them because they were doing the best they could with the level of consciousness they had at that and still are. We were taught at a very young age that we bring into intimate relationships, Dana, by the way, we were taught at a very young age that we only get love if we do A, B, or C. We only get love if we operate in the way that our parents wanted us to operate in. And what happens is we create a filter, an unconscious filter that we bring into our adult life. And we unknowingly, unknowingly, unconsciously project that filter onto our partner. Have you ever dealt with this personally, Mar? Something that you learned from your mom or your dad or, you know, your caregivers that you can look back with on yourself and say, hmm, I definitely projected that onto my previous partner. I was definitely projecting a lot of things from my family. And actually, my last relationship revealed a lot of that to me, so thanks to that relationship being so dysfunctional and so complicated, I was able to finally realize how many things I was projecting. And definitely one of them was abandonment. It was a big one. So it's like everything I was doing was out of fear of losing that person. So it wasn't even love, I was motivated by something rather negative than something positive to be in that relationship because once I was able to get out of it and like look at it from a more neutral perspective without any feelings attached. I didn't actually love the person. I just loved being in a relationship or being wanted and feeling like, okay, somebody chose me and that's what I was fighting for, not for the person. Yeah, well, so I think we all can relate to this. I'm 44 years old and Dana, I don't know your age, but I don't, this applies to everyone, whether it's like, when do people start dating? I can't even imagine my daughter dating. I'm like, no, you're not dating until you're 25. But it's probably, I would say 16, 17, 18, where people start to, or at least they think they fall in love. And then all the way up until your 90s, right? You can still get married and fall in love in your 90s or even 100 years old. And I think what this points to is the awareness of self. You know, we talk about the physical, the mental, the emotional, the spiritual, and the financial in our Liberated Life Tribe. And I really feel like to have true liberation, we get to do the work to unconditionally love us first, first and foremost. In Greek mythology and the temple at the Apollo, there is a phrase written in Greek and it says, know thy self. And I think that's the ultimate wisdom that we can learn from our ancient masters is like they had it wired, they had it figured out on lockdown a long time ago. They knew that unless you did not know yourself, then you would never be able to know thy lover or know thy life partner. And so I think true sacred union and true intimacy in relationships can only be found when a human being is 2 things, 1, committed to their own growth, committed to their own self-love... Wellness + Wisdom Episode 635 Wellness + Wisdom Podcast Host and Wellness Force Media CEO, Josh Trent, shares how soon to be parents can prevent and prepare for sleep deprivation and how to deal with the emotions that manifest as physical illness. Send Josh your AMA Question HERE! Today's Questions Jim: I'm about to have a baby here in September and you hear all these stories of, Hey, you're going to go through sleep deprivation. It's going to be a high-stress environment. You know, all the things that kind of make you fear of like, oh my god, the baby's coming. I was wondering if you had maybe a list of supplements or a protocol to kind of help around, you know, dampening the impact of that stress or that sleep deprivation. Maybe if there's things leading up to the birth event, things post-birth, I'm sure there are sets of supplements or practices. Keith: I've been dealing with some pretty notable liver issues. And for context, 5-6 years ago, I had chronic liver failure diagnosed from Vanderbilt. I don't have any disease at all. The doctor said everything's fine with me. Wellness + Wisdom | Episode 634 How can asking yourself the right questions transform your life within seconds? Dr. John Demartini, Polymath and Human Behavior Expert, joins Josh Trent on the Wellness + Wisdom Podcast, episode 634, to enlighten you about how you can make life-changing alterations by simply asking yourself different questions, why trauma is not about what happens to you, and how to make unconscious information conscious. "The quality of your life is based on the quality of the questions you ask because questions make unconscious information conscious. If you ask the questions, why did this happen to me? Mark Groves and Kylie McBeath join Josh Trent on the Wellness + Wisdom Podcast, episode 630, to explore where the root of codependency comes from, how you can create a liberated relationship with your partner, and why it's important to learn to be okay on your own before you get into a relationship. This is Wellness + Wisdom. It's a podcast where, as always, we nourish these 5 sides of ourselves. You know the ones I'm talking about. The mental, the physical, the emotional, the spiritual, and the financial. All the things that we signed up to be the master of or be in mastery on planet Earth. You know, we call this the Wellness Pentagon. We're here to expand our knowledge today in an AMA talk about Wetiko in partnership. How do we navigate the darkness in ourselves? How do we go through cancer and get the right healing that we need? And also what are the myths around mold testing? We have a very mixed bag today on the AMA. [06:20] Wetiko in Relationships Okay, let's get into our first question today. I already touched on it a little bit. It's how to navigate with Wateco in partnership. And this is from Jaki. I've seen Jaki comment on a lot of our Instagram. Jaki, thank you for being such a loyal listener and somebody who really cares about their own wellness. First of all, before we even get into this, before we started working together, Mar, did you ever even hear of Wetiko? Did you know what Wetiko was? No, no, I first heard about it in the episode with Paul Levy. Yep. And when you first heard about it, did you say to yourself, wow, that's definitely been in my life before, or were you like, no, this is bullshit? No, it's definitely been in my life. I just didn't know there was this term for I didn't understand the dynamics of it. So how Paul described it in the episode, I feel like it really just gave perspective on it and just made it make sense to me. Yeah, Paul is a master, 40 years of Tibetan monastery work and meditation work will do that to you. Let's listen to Jaki's question. I think all of us can really resonate with this universal human experience in relationships the way that we don't want to show up. I am curious to hear how you navigate the shadow or rather when pushing up against edges in your partnership with your beloved. I find that when my triggers are triggered, when my shadow is triggered, I like get into the Wetiko and it literally sometimes can be so engulfing that I'm just this emotional wreck and I like just how I perceive everything is so such a delusion and not reality. So anyways, then it sometimes it seems like it takes a few days to like get out of that and then there's that like sense of guilt and for my behavior. Although I do pull back and I do the work, I think I'm doing the work, but like that subconscious so big, whatever that might be, unworthy of love, fear of being hurt. So anyways, I'm just curious when you and those spots where you are experiencing that that bigness. How do you move through that? How do you navigate that and how do you show up better? What a great question. So let's start with this False dichotomy that not just Teal Swan has brought up, but I want to say in many words or less, probably 200 or more guests that have been on the show. And it's this concept of holding 2 worlds, right? So how do you navigate with Wetiko and partnership? The very first thing that you do is you identify that Witeko is within you. It's within all of us, by the way. A great resource for this is Paul Levy, episode 503, JoshTrent.com/503, where Paul teaches us about these two worlds. And this is what I want to say, because this is actually probably the most complex question we have here, because when it comes to emotions or spiritual maladies or anything about human behavior, it's not always perfectly quantifiable to be able to explain or even decipher human behavior. So a great jumping-off point for this would be, Jaki, can you hold two worlds? Can you hold one world of compassion and understanding for yourself? That this trigger feels so fucking intense that it takes over your nervous system, that it takes away your breath, that all of a sudden you're behaving like your mother or your father and you're screaming at your significant other or your boyfriend and you pull back from that and realize, wow, who was that?... [25:55] Red Light Therapy for Breast Cancer Let's get to the next question, Mar. How do you pronounce her name? Is it "Cherie" or "Cher?" As a non-English native speaker, I cannot answer that question. Okay. Let's get to Shere. Hi Josh, If you had breast cancer, which would you use if you could only choose 1, the infrared light therapy or the sauna, and your reason why? Thank you so much. Well, first of all, Shere, I just have such a soft spot for your voice. I can feel your journey. You remind me of my grandmother's that I've had and you just touch a really beautiful spot in my heart. So thank you for having the courage to just ask that question. First and foremost, this is a disclaimer. Nothing we ever talk about on Wellness + Wisdom is ever medical advice, especially when it comes to a cancer journey, right? But here's what I will say and this comes from Scott Jackson who's been on the show JoshTrent.com/622. This comes from Zach Bush who's been on the show. We just had Scott Jackson on the show, which honestly, Shere, I think it's the most beautiful, powerful resource I think I can point you towards now, doesn't actually have anything to do with infrared light or with sauna. I think that's really a cover question. A cover question is where the meaning or the fear or the energy or the emanation point from the real desire is below the words that are used to cover the ego, essentially, not to call you out, we all have it. I've asked questions like this too. In other words, the ego is protecting us from the real answer that it wants because it's scared that the answer might or might be false. So this is a cover question. Hey, Josh does infrared light or a sauna help me more support a cancer journey? I wanna be really gentle with you too, because like I said, I can feel your heart, Sheree, and I can have the most sincere compassion for the journey that you're on. I don't know what it's like to be on that journey. I don't, because I've never been on it. But what I can say from all the people we've had on the show is that the cover you're asking points to a really deeper discovery. And the deeper discovery is, can I find homeostasis? Can I find the equilibrium and the feedback loop, the homeostatic feedback loop of all my organs, of all my nervous system, of my mind, body, spirit, and soul? And there's harmony that is being requested by your system. Otherwise, the cancer would not be there. Again, I'm very respectful of your journey. I'm very compassionate of your journey. But what I will share is the red light or the sauna, these are great things. I don't think one is better than the other. I think really what these are doing is, it's opening your and your heart up to new answers About why the cancer is there in the first place Because the cancer is there because of something or someone that happened a long time ago. Typically it's 10 years or more. I've heard one of my mentors, Paul Chek, say that cancer can take 10 years to form, but the origin of that cancer, either energetically, spiritually, physically, emotionally, or mentally, it happens at a decade point and then we experience it much later. Look at Scott Jackson. He had really intense drug abuse in his 20s and 30s. And it wasn't until he got to his 50s that the cancer came around. And when I felt into Scott and his heart and his energy, it's like, yeah, sometimes it takes a decade or 2 for stuff to show up on our body or in our mind or in our heart. And so I think it's really beautiful, Shere. And I wanna say that if I had to choose, and again, this is not medical advice, I wanna answer your cover question, and then I wanna get to the deeper homeostasis. The infrared light, the photon light from SaunaSpace, you can go over to JoshTrent.com/SaunaSpace. The code is "JOSH10", by the way, for any product there, which is a beautiful discount. You're not gonna find a bigger one online. But why I like the Photon Light is that actually penetrates deeper than the near, far, and mid-infrared on a traditional sauna. Also, it's less expensive, right? So if finances are an issue. The photon light penetrates deep into the tissue, actually hitting the bone, which increases mitochondrial activity. It helps the detoxification. The photon lighting is far superior to a traditional sauna. Now, is a traditional sauna healthy? Of course, it is, right? There's detoxification potential, there's mitochondrial activity potential. But if I had to choose, if you're asking me, Shari, for 1, I would choose the infrared light. But isn't it funny that really what we're looking for here is we're for light? We're looking for light. So if you're looking for light in the body, I would go to wherever you feel intuitively, emotional inventory process-wise, that darkness is. If you're looking for light in your body, can you find wherever the darkness is first? Go into the dark parts... [32:00] Testing for Mold All right, let's get to our last question. This one's really interesting. Like I said, today's a mixed bag. This is from Dr. Ashley Beckman and she's going to ask us a question about mold testing. I'm wondering if you have checked to see if you've been exposed to toxic mold. I am Dr. Ashley Beckman, and I check this with all of my clients if I feel like there is a need to, and I want to see if it's a piece of your health puzzle. I see it in over 90% of my clients, and it's the biggest driver that I have seen for root causes of mystery symptoms, autoimmune issues and just feeling unwell. So I want to know if it's something you've looked into. Okay, Dr. Ashley, great question. Look, there are a lot of myths around mold testing. Mar, out there in the ocean, there's probably buildings that have visible mold. Have you ever seen black mold? Do you know what it looks like? Yeah, I've seen it. There's quite a lot on this island actually, because the humidity is extremely high and usually it rains a lot as well. So there's not really enough time for it to dry and kind of recover. So everything is completely humid and moldy. Mold's an interesting one. Dave Asprey, Luke Storey, and many other people that I know, some of the biggest biohackers in the world have dealt with mold on a firsthand basis. I actually had MARCoNS in my sinuses and thank God for John Lieurance, who showed me that there was a Marcon's test where I could actually understand what was going on in my sinuses. Here's the key point before we dive into the practicals. It's really important on these AMAs that y'all take this to heart. It's not always about the tactical practical thing. It's more about the come from, the intention, and the setup. Combine those two, but don't be fooled y'all. Don't do the practical stuff first. Understand the framework that the practicality sets on. Here's why I'm saying this. Everybody's exposed to mold all day long. There are literally billions and billions of mold spores flying around your room right now. Mold is just a part of our life. It's not whether you are exposed to mold, it's can your nervous system and can your immune system handle the load of that mold. So there's a concept that I want to share here, it's called allostatic load. And we've talked about it a few times on the podcast, but it's super important to understand. If your immune system is a bathtub and there's only so much water that can fit the bathtub, water represents stress, right? Either EMF stress, pollution, poor nutrition, psychosomatic stress, psychoneuroimmunology, thoughts becoming things, anxiety, or depression. Think of all the ways that your body is taxed, either by mind or environment, and put that in a bathtub. As soon as that water starts to overflow from the bathtub, you've reached your stress capacity. There's no more stress that can be taken in. There's no more stress that can be processed. And so if your allostatic load is an 11 out of 10 and you literally cannot take any more stress, guess what happens when you walk into a moldy building? You're gonna start developing mold symptoms... Wellness + Wisdom | Episode 628 Why is circumcision leaving an imprint on boys for the rest of their lives? Eric Clopper, Leading Attorney and Activist in the movement to protect children from genital mutilation, joins Josh Trent on the Wellness + Wisdom Podcast, episode 628, to explain why male circumcision is genital mutilation and should be considered child abuse, why the U.S. must expand the laws to protect both male and female children from genital mutilation, and how his law firm, CLOPPER LAW, is planning to launch historic constitutional challenges to ensure that ALL children are protected. "The first sexual experience of most American and Jewish men is that they are sexually stimulated and then they feel the worst pain that they will probably feel in their entire life, as the most erogenous part of their body is crushed and amputated. It is not only an active mutilation of the penis, but it also causes an incredible myriad of complications which can include the loss of the entire penis or the death of the child." - Eric Clopper Support Eric Clopper's Nonprofit Intact Global, Inc., The Premier Nonprofit Dedicated to Ending Infant Genital Mutilation Go to www.clopper.com/donate Potential plaintiffs, collaborating lawyers, and donors may also email Eric Clopper directly at eric@clopper.com with questions, comments, and suggestions. How Jewish people's profound trauma causes them to perceive radical change as a threat to their existence. [16:10] The Collective Lie The dark side of fathers wanting their sons to look like them. Circumcision is a collective lie America bought into. It's uncomfortable for men to address the problem because it was done to them. We're always irritated and ready for war. If you look at the Middle East, that's almost an entire genital mutilating area and they're the ones in chronic wars. Because if you abuse or inflict violence on your men, you're going to damage these individuals and they will in turn be damaged and damage others, including women." - Eric Clopper Metzitzah B'peh "Before the 1800s, a mohel would use his sharpened fingernails to shred the foreskin off of a child and some of the babies would bleed out and die. So rabbis instituted a new practice called Metzitzah B'peh sucking, which is after they'd shred the infant's genitals, they would suck on the bleeding penis. The thought behind it was if you get a cut, you may suck on it to stop it bleeding. But it seems overtly sexual to me to perform bloody fellatio on an infant. It's horrific, it's disgusting, and it spreads diseases and kills infants." - Eric Clopper Links From Today's Show Eric Clopper Criminal cutting: break the circumcision taboo and end male general genital mutilation with Eric Clopper Sex & Circumcision: An American Love Story by Eric Clopper American Circumcision (2017) Local rabbi accused of infecting babies with herpes High Cost of Circumcision $5.7 Billion Annually Beauty Industry Part of Foreskin Flesh Trade, Anti-Circumcision Activists Warn Liberated Life Community John Harvey Kellogg 482 Dave Asprey | Advanced Biohacking For Body Mind & Spirit: How To Train A Healthy Brain, Boost Your Flow State + Remove False Beliefs ❄️ Biohack Your Mind & Body with Plunge Ice Baths! Episode #308. How would Jesus kill an animal? Join me as I sit down with filmmakers Kip Andersen and Kameron Waters to discuss their position on how religion and veganism intersect. Whether you are religious or not, there are many interesting points raised to reflect on further. In their new documentary Christspiracy, Kip and Kameron pose the question: is there a spiritual way to kill an animal? In this episode, they argue what they believe to be the accurate interpretation of what the Bible says about animal liberation, taking us on a journey of what the concept of dominion truly means. We discuss a 2000-year-old cover-up, whether eating meat as a Christian is hypocritical, the truth about regenerative agriculture, and much more. Wellness + Wisdom Episode 627 Wellness + Wisdom Podcast Host and Wellness Force Media CEO, Josh Trent, shares how the power of language impacts your life, what men can do to create a long-lasting relationship and intimacy with their women, and how to bring two families together. Send Josh your AMA Question HERE! Today's Questions Ian Vogel: Are there any words that you intentionally don't use because you find that they can impede your ability to communicate with somebody. I'm curious, are there any words or maybe speech patterns that you intentionally don't use because they get in the way? And if there are, how would you determine, or what's your criteria for determining whether a word is actually useful or not, or if you should banish it? Melissa: I'm starting a new relationship, I'm formally divorced and I have a child, and he is formally divorced and also has a child. So we are working through what that looks like to bring two families together and all the struggles of the past that we're trying to help each other heal through and move forward and build something. So What are your thoughts on that? Archer: In your opinion, what are the top 3 things that men can do to improve and sustain their relationships, and marriages, women and even outside of providing and provision? 25% Off Seed Daily Synbiotic Use the code "25JOSHTRENT" for 25% off SEED'S DS-01® DAILY SYNBIOTIC FOR 18+ AGE GROUP For Gastrointestinal + Whole-body Health 2-in-1 capsule-in-capsule probiotic and prebiotic. Question number one is from my homie who I've done training with, my friend, Ian Vogel. Let's tune in to what Ian has to say. Now, Mar, you and I picked this question because don't we, you and I, practice language together all the time, the most empowering language? Every single day. Yes. Before you had heard about this concept of language and like using language, had it ever come into your awareness the way that we use it with each other? Sometimes, but more Not in a sense like paying attention to every single word, but more like how I talk to myself in my head, especially. So like taking myself down and just like calling myself names when I do something wrong and just like these little details, but I haven't thought about it before in relation to other people and like how I actually express myself. So it was more about the inner talk. Yeah. Inner dialogue is definitely where outer dialogue comes from. That is for sure, which we're going to talk about in the critical factor today from Ian's question. So let's listen to what Ian has to say. Josh Trent, my man. I hope you're doing well. As always, I love the content you're putting out. My question for you revolves around language. Are there any words that you intentionally don't use because you find that they can impede your ability to communicate with somebody. For example, the first thing that pops into my head is the word shaman. I intentionally don't use that word because it seems to have a different meaning for everybody. And I find that using that word just muddies the water. So I'm curious, are there any words or maybe speech patterns that you intentionally don't use because they get in the way? And if there are, how would you determine, or what's your criteria for determining whether a word is actually useful or not, or if you should banish it? And maybe a quick follow-up question, Are there any words that you have banished from your dictionary or lexicon intentionally? I'd love to know. So good. Look at the word etymology, right? The word etymology is the study of the origin of words and the way in which that meaning has changed throughout history. I mean, that should be everything we need to know about why language is malleable. And language literally is a spell. So there's a practical scientific explanation for this, and then there's also a more grounded spiritual way to experience this. You know, I'll throw it to you, Mar, so you had said inner dialogue is something that you have been focusing on since we've been working together, And it's been something that I've been aware of since 2008, 2009. Am I perfect at practicing it? No. Do I do my best? Yes. But the one thing for me, and I'm curious how you feel before I go into both spiritual and scientific definitions for Ian, is this. Don't you believe that in communication, whoever uses language and then corrects themselves on the language they use is vulnerable, is authentic, and truly has the most power because there's nothing to hide? There's peacefulness in the way they communicate... [17:30] Blending Two Families Into One Let's go to the next question here. So our next question is from Melissa. I did the training with Melissa as well, too. Our NLP master prac training together. So let's see what Melissa has to say. Hi Josh, it's Melissa from Canada. I wanted to say thank you for the episode that you made with Carrie Michelle and for both sharing so openly in that episode about your experiences. After that time, having some time since then, I was wondering if you had any new learnings that you could share, kind of in general on relationships, and maybe even more specifically anything that you could share from the perspective of someone that, for me, starting a new relationship. So I'm starting a new relationship, I'm formally divorced and I have a child, and he is formally divorced and also has a child. So we are working through what that looks like to bring two families together and all the struggles of the past that we're trying to help each other heal through and move forward and build something. So What are your thoughts on that? Thanks so much, Josh. Amazing. So I can speak from what I know and I'm not gonna speak from what I don't know. What I do know is that even the question that Melissa is asking shows that she has the pure intention to bring healing to a blended family. And that's really what we're talking about, right? It's actually twofold. Before we get to the blended family, let's talk about this. For all y'all that have been through divorce, divorce can feel like the most gut-wrenching, most insane, most growth-producing, by the way, if you approach it from a learning lesson mentality that I think any man or woman could ever go through on planet Earth, really. I can't think of something more painful and more just abrupt to the nervous system, the heart, and the mind. So before you even blend the families, you have to create the container to do so. But the container to do so actually with you, because as we've talked about so much more on these AMAs, it is really about awareness first with everything. It's about know thy self, written on the temple at the Apollo in Greek mythology. So if we understand that the container is anything of creativity, of connection, of a blended family, it starts with, how are we, what is our intention inside of us? And how are we going to put that intention into the space, right? So the intention I would suggest for you would be to go deep within yourself and have a specific practice of emotional inventory. You can listen to our AMAs Or by the way, you can just meditate and get clear from journaling. You don't have to do my EI2 process. I know that it works, cause I do it myself. [28:30] How to Create a Harmonious Relationship Let's move on to the last question. It is from Archer. I met Archer here in Austin. And by the way, y'all, all your questions can be dropped at JoshTrent.com/AMA. So 90 seconds or less, it's so easy. And if you've been wanting to just get a place, get to a place different than been in a long time, or just some different thoughts or different feedback, or you want to pose a question because you're interested in the evolution of humanity. It doesn't have to be deep. It can be deep because I like it deep. That's my preference. Okay, let's hear from Archer. Hello, Josh and the wellness and wisdom team. Thank you all so much for what you do. I've got a question for the AMA. In your opinion, what are the top 3 things that men can do to improve and sustain their relationships, and marriages, women and even outside of providing and provision? So yeah, what are the top 3 things men can do to create harmonious, long-lasting, beautiful relationships and marriages? So good. Before I answer this, Mar, what do you think women want from their men? That's the million-dollar question. What do women want? I think most women don't even know what they want. I think that's the main issue. So I think a lot of us, and this is based on Alison Armstrong's work, The Queen's Code, a lot of women just expect to have another woman, somebody who shows up as their bestie, right? As another woman. And when they meet a man, they don't realize that men work and act completely differently than women. And this was a really wake-up call for me. So Alison Armstrong's Queen's Code, it really opened my eyes and I really recommend all the women to listen to it because, oh my God, it's life-changing. Were you a frog farmer? Yes. Oh, big-time frog farmer. Y'all need... y'all get to see. I just caught myself, right? You don't need to listen to the episode because nothing I say you ever have to do. We're just here to present information and a different way of thinking, and you make the conscious choice based on your level of development. Isn't that awesome? There's no pressure. Now that authentic use of language, to go back to Ian's first question. I don't think you have to, I think you get to, you get to understand this concept of are you a frog farmer or not? That'll really help the women who want to connect with their men on a deeper level. And by the way, for men, it's a great read as well. We've done 2 episodes with Alison Armstrong on the podcast. They're linked in this AMA, wherever you're listening. And what I could say to start is, and you touched on it more, it's first and foremost, how do you create long-lasting connection with your wife, with your girlfriend, as a man? First and foremost, you honor our sacred differences. Now, what do I mean by this? A woman is a woman not just for the fact she has different chromosomes than a man, that's a biological difference, which by the way, plays out and shows up in many emotional and mental constructs as well. So first and foremost, if you're the kind of person who doesn't believe that there's a gender, you should probably not listen to this podcast nor ever join our community because we believe in honoring the nature. So that's first and foremost. There is no such thing as a genderless society. There is a society where we honor our sacred differences, both biologically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally, physically, everything. Because here's what happens, like you said, Mar, when a woman gets into a relationship with a man and she's frog farming, which I love that term. It's such a fun term. Allison's so good at what she does. I mean, like multiple decades in just helping women understand men. So y'all get to check out that episode. When a man gets into a relationship, he is not a woman. He is not just a hairy woman. He is a man. And so being secure in your masculinity, doing your inner work as a man to understand your own femininity. And this is a total flip on the construct here... Episode #307. According to Robin Sharma, eight factors define wealth – and only one of them is money. Join me in today's episode as I sit down with this leadership expert and bestselling author to unpack what it truly means to be wealthy. You'll learn about what happy people have in common, how to find more fulfilment, and how to perform a full reset on your life. Robin pulls back the curtain to offer a glimpse of what his habits look like and how you can implement habits to help you become your best self. Plus, discover why you should consider eating out alone, why you should be thinking about death, and plenty more in this insight-packed conversation. In any conversation considering the relationship between money and happiness, it's important to note that not everyone has the time or resources to commit to self-improvement. If you're in this camp, you're far from alone. My advice would be to take the core principles discussed in this episode and find some goals that are reasonable for you. Why did it take Ann Coulter to school Van Jones, a black father, about the reality of fatherlessness in black America? It seems to be just another example of willful ignorance of black men instead of addressing the actual issues plaguing the community. Leftists live in a fantasy world where there are no people problems and there is no problem with the destruction of family. Guns are the problem, or the lack of gyms and parks for kids to play in. “No, there's a problem with daddies not being in the home married to the mother of their children.” Jason and Delano Squires debate the real crisis. Despite being “red-pilled,” Bill Maher still panders to his liberal faithful. Coulter had to set the host of HBO's “Real Time” straight on the Kansas City Super Bowl parade shooter. “Racial Maddow” is at it again: Joy Reid is again making the case for reparations.
