Gilead. Marthas. Handmaids. Eyes. They sound biblical but if they are, where and what do these references mean? Are actual slave women co-opted as surrogate baby providers in the Bible? Do they truly lie in their mistresses' laps to conceive and give birth? What do the Handmaids mean by "Blessed be the fruit"? And who was the original Jezebel? Fans of the show need look no further. June 01, 2025 Daily Devotion: "The Blessed Day of Rest"Genesis 2:3 New Living Translation 3 And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation. Are you a little grumpy when you're tired? A lot grumpy? It's okay; we're all friends here. The fact is that exhaustion doesn't bring out the joy in people. Things that wouldn't even faze us on a good day can bring out the crazy in us when we've been too tired for too long. Everything God does has a purpose. When we read about something He did or said, we should really take note. During creation, for instance, He made a point of resting. Why would He do that? God wasn't weary from all the work (Isaiah 40:28). He wasn't about to take a nap (Psalm 121:4). God rested so that His people would follow His example (Exodus 16:30). It's okay to take a break and be refreshed. If you find yourself missing the joy and wondering when you became so irritable, carve out sometime to rest. It was important enough for God to set the example; let's follow it. Joyful people know how to rest.

On this Easter Day, from the all on the C&SI teams we wish you and yours every blessing of this Blessed Day!On this weeks podcast excerpt we are delighted to welcome back our old friend Noirin Lynch to share with us some thoughts on Easter, hope and resurrection. Speaking from her experience of living with and getting treatment for cancer for the last 12 months it is from that experience she shares with our listeners how the language of life transforms our experience and understanding of Easter. But even more so at the moment we have a need for the language of Easter to pull us out of the doom spiral of despair in the world. It is a reminder to us that "Easter is a protect against despair", it is not enough for us to say that Jesus has risen from the dead but rather we live in a post Resurrection world and that should make a difference. Reflecting on Kim Rosen's poem "In impossible darkness" Noirin gives us some deeply moving and thoughtful words to reflect on for this Eastertide. Text us at +353 874668950 or email at comeandseeinspirtaions@gmail.com

In this heartfelt devotion, we reflect on God's blessings and the importance of seeking His plan for our lives. Drawing inspiration from the hymn 'Take My Life and Let It Be,' and the transformative journey of the Apostle Paul in Acts 9, we are reminded to ask God, 'What will You have me to do?' Through scripture passages, including Ephesians 2:10 and Psalms, we explore how our steps are ordered by the Lord and the joy and occasional sorrow that accompany fulfilling His will. Join us as we pray for clarity, purpose, and the willingness to follow His path. God bless you.

A noisy day at the park, when suddenly–it's oh so quiet. Gunshots are muffled. Wrestling grunts are barely audible. Can Falk restore order to the soundscape? Why does that bearded guy's costume include wings? Listen to find out!World of Whispers, episode 101 of This Gun in My Hand, was breathed out by Rob Northrup. All episodes are available on Youtube with automatically-generated closed captions of dialog. Visit http://ThisGuninMyHand.blogspot.com for credits, show notes, archives, and to buy my books, such as Little Heist in the Big Woods and Other Revisionist Atrocities. What keeps people quiet? This Gun in My Hand!Show Notes:1. One of my earliest radio plays was a group project for Creative Writing class in high school, probably 1989. My friends Jeff, Julian and I wrote a script parodying Star Trek, cobbled together from jokes we had probably absorbed reading Mad Magazine. Only five or ten minutes long, we recorded it on tape and played it in class. I'm not sure why Mr. Groesser apologized to the class afterwards, maybe because of the bad language like “Damn!” or “Bloody Hell!” At one point Jeff did the voice of a vendor at a baseball game, calling out, “peaNUTS! Popcorn!” maybe to hint at how large the ship is. I tried to recreate his delivery here. When Julian's girlfriend heard the tape, she asked what girl we had cast for the voice of Uhura. She wouldn't believe I had done it. No effects software to raise the pitch, I did it all in the delivery.2. Whispering Wind and Blessed Day (aka Muckbang, aka Peatboom) first appeared in episode 60, “Hush, Sweet Zildjian.”https://archive.org/details/tgimh-60-hush-sweet-zildjianCredits:The opening music clip was from The Sun Sets at Dawn (1950), and the closing music was from Killer Bait (1949), both films in the public domain. Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #567 is a compelling, dynamic hour of live, improvised visionary acoustic music played by The Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, acoustic and 12-string acoustic guitar, ukulele, mandolin and Native flute, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on Native drum and congas.  Recorded at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in March of 2024, today's show begins with the tense, mystical “Stay Strong, Revitalize”, a dense piece with imaginative, tension-filled piano from Bob and a fine vocal from Mariam.  “In The Silence Of The Stillness” is a sprightly folk song propelled by chiming mandolin from Mariam and “Tuck Me Inside” is a gorgeous, tender ballad with stilled piano and lyrical acoustic guitar laid over a steady conga groove from Craig.  “A Blessed Day” is a pretty minor ballad with a swinging, samba-like vibe and “What About Everyone Else” coalesces slowly around Mariam's flute fanfares into a stately, gospel-inflected meditation.  We close today's show with the rich, mystical raga “The Ides Of March”, a patient, lush piece with modern, tense piano from Bob over Mariam's chiming, carpet-like 12-string acoustic chords. We have seen how different leaders within an organization can be leading their teams in vastly different ways, producing different results. We work to unify all of the leaders of an organization so that you have one big SUPERIOR Team, or a team that is Self-Aware, Unified, Persevering, Empowered, Relationally Safe, Intentional, Optimized, and Resourceful. The CLC Team accomplishes this is a variety of ways and by using various learning methods: -       3 to 4-hour workshops (on-site or online) -       Online Leadership Community (weekly zoom calls that cover leadership topics) -       The Complete Leadership Development System -       Leadership Mastermind (online and annual event)  Our Current Online Community for Leaders is currently open! The monthly price is $47 a month and this includes one weekly “live” zoom call, full access to our leadership library of video courses, full access to all the replays of prior zoom calls, and a private community to connect with other leaders! Daily Leadership Challenges and Tips We hope you enjoy these daily leadership tips and challenges. Our hope is that these tips and challenges will motivate you, make you think, provide you with actionable steps, bring your team together, make your team more productive and profitable, and generally keep you interested in continually learning about leadership, because leadership is a life-long learning process. This show is brought to you by The Current Leadership Coaching Team or CLC Team, and we offer a variety of ways for you to continually have leadership training and development. Our primary focus is on team leaders; specifically, leaders in the manufacturing industry who have multiple leaders they work with while leading their own teams both independently and in conjunction with other teams within the same organization (either at one large site or in separate locations).
