The 8-Bit Big Band is a 30-65 member Jazz/Pops orchestra (led by Charlie Rosen) that formed to celebrate and realize some of the best musical themes written from various video games. The members of the 8-Bit Big Band come from all around the world, but most reside primarily in New York City, and are some of the most highly sought after musicians and performers, all gamers at heart who enjoy playing their favorite games of all time! Charlie Rosen is extremely talented; he's a composer and arranger, professional bass player and multi-instrumentalist and does just about everything involved in producing the 8BBB albums. He's been playing professionally for years and has orchestrated and composed music for television, film and over a dozen Broadway shows. He's well-versed in all manner of Big Band and Jazz, and his expanded arrangements give new life to old classics. Together with Charlie we cover a selection of tracks from 3 full-length albums and an EP. We talk music theory, arrangement, our favorite pop cultural references and so much more in this densely packed show. It was a blast start to finish and as always, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do! The extraterrestrial comedy podcast where we probe Spring Heeled Jack. This is a legitimate piece of London folklore from the Victorian era. But what was to blame? Was Jack a single prankster who was then imitated down the years? Was ole' Jack a noble lord from the upper echelons of society with no regard for the law and the money to get away with it? Was Jack a monster? Or is there a more extraterrestrial explanation? Along the way we paint the town red. We also question whether this is an unofficial world record high jumper or whether this was merely a matter of perspective (which side of the wall are you on)? Alongside that, Greybeard and moonwalker consider their options were they to get in to a fist fight with a bear… All that and more on this week's file. Additional music via: https://freepd.com - thank you most kindly good people. You may also have twigged the start to Hedwig's Theme from Harry Potter quietly snuck in to the background. This was composed by the honourable John Williams, conducted by trustworthy John Williams and William Ross and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. There was also a small snippet from Super Mario 64, the Main Theme used on Bob-Omb Battlefield. This was created via Nintendo and composer Koji Kondo. Finally, we brought you a slice of nostalgia with Disney's Gummi Bears theme, composed by Michael Silversher and Patricia (Patty) Silversher.
The extraterrestrial comedy podcast where we probe the strange encounter experienced by dairy farmer, the honourable and trustworthy William Bosak, in Wisconsin during December of 1974. You won't believe what Willy saw with his eye… Unless you've read the title to this episode. Is it coincidence that a dairy farmer saw something that slightly resembled a cow? Meanwhile we cover the universal language of looking at someones genitals before making eye contact. Moooooo, dude. Ultimately, we determine whether Willy is a tough swallow. Anyone want to buy us a vanilla latte? All that and more on this week's file. This theme brought and continues to bring us much joy as those memories flood back.

Mario's world might look like it's all hyper-saturated sunshine and rainbows, but under that candy-coated exterior lie some real sinister themes. Like, while that cartoon-y manta ray boss in Super Mario Sunshine might seem like happy fun at first, it's pretty disturbing when you consider that it's literally a shadow that is slowly devouring all living matter in its wake. That gigantic 8-ft walking bomb might have a silly mustache, but it is also a gigantic 8-ft bomb filled entirely of gunpowder and loose ethics. This week, we take a look at the darker side of some of Mario's more enigmatic boss encounters. Debate This! is now on Patreon, y'all! New sound collage. This is an Alan Parsons Project-heavy episode of Super Awesome Fun Time, sampling Mr. Time, Oh Life (There Must Be More), Blue Blue Sky, and Apollo. Also heard in this collage: “The Southern Sea” by Garth Stevenson, a heavily distorted version of Super Mario 64's Bob-Omb Battlefield theme, a track from Brian Eno's Music for Airports album, and a couple old prank calls from RBCP of the Phone Losers of America. Thank you for listening.
