Christian Zyp interviews Morgan Evans (director/writer) and Patrick Noth (actor/writer) abou their film MICRO BUDGET. See it as part of NorthWest Film Fest Saturday May 10th at 9:30 pm at the Metro Cinema. MICRO BUDGET revolves around wannabe filmmaker Terry (Patrick Noth) on the cusp of discovering he's about to be a father. So, he does what any other sane person would do. He moves himself and his nine-month pregnant wife from Iowa to Los Angeles to shoot a low-budget indie movie and sell it to a streamer for a "f**k-ton of money." Documented by his cousin Devin's behind-the-scenes camera crew, Terry suddenly finds that his beliefs about diversity, the #MeToo movement, and what technically qualifies as an adequately financed film production put him at odds with anyone who meets him. This mockumentary features Bobby Moynihan, Chris Parnell, Maria Bamford, Carla Jimenez, Nichole Sakura and a very special cameo.INSTAGRAM @microbudgetmoviehttps://www.microbudgetmovie.com/THREADS @microbudgetmovie
The cast and creative team behind Real Women Have Curves: The Musical gathered for an exclusive press day, and we were there to soak in the joy, passion, and powerful stories that define this new Broadway production. From bold choreography to songs that stick in your head long after the final note, this episode captures the spirit of a show that centers Latin culture, immigrant narratives, and shared humanity in a way that's as timely as it is timeless. Whether you're drawn to the musical's universal themes or its deeply personal storytelling, every voice in this episode brings something heartfelt to the table. We hear first from producers Barry Weissler and Jack Noseworthy about why this story matters now more than ever, followed by composer/lyricist Benjamin Velez, who shares how he and Joy Huerta crafted the musical world of 1980s East L.A. Alan Madagoitia then gives us insight into her powerful role as Itzel, an undocumented immigrant from Guatemala. Writer Nell Benjamin reflects on adapting a true story with timeless themes, and Sergio Trujillo dives into directing and choreographing something deeply personal. We also hear from cast members Carla Jimenez and Jennifer Sanchez, who infuse their characters with humor, heart, and lived-in truth. Finally, Florencia Cuenca shares her emotional journey as Estela, and how this role has transformed her both personally and professionally. Carla Jimenez talks about her acting career and writing and producing her own projects

The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview CARLA JIMENEZ of FOX TV's THE MICK. Carla is currently starring alongside Kaitlin Olson on Fox's hit show “The Mick.” The series, which was recently renewed for a second season, follows Olson's debauched character Mickey who is stuck raising her ultra-wealthy niece and nephew in Greenwich, CT. Carla's breakout role as Alba, the live-in housekeeper, has shattered the stereotype of a Latina maid on TV. The relationship between the two leads Carla and Kaitlin has invoked comparisons to "I Love Lucy", with Carla the "Ethel" to Kaitlin's "Lucy." Born and raised in Simi Valley, California, Mexican-American actress Carla Jimenez cut her teeth in the entertainment industry from a young age. After honing her talents in musical theater, Carlalanded her first professional job straight out of high school when she was cast in a production of “South Pacific.” During this production she was scouted by an agent and from there delved further into television acting where she discovered her true niche and comedic chops. Since her start in television, Carla Jimenez has brought incredible depth to what could have been a tired stereotype. Throughout her acting career she has played six nurses, at least one maid, and three characters named 'Rosa' on sitcoms and films like ABC's "Desperate Housewives," FOX's "Raising Hope," NBC's "Last Man Standing,” “The Mindy Project, “Bones,” LADY IN THE WATER, ACCEPTED, and the comedy film NACHO LIBRE, among many others. She has also more recently appeared as a guest star in Netflix's “Santa Clarita Diet" and "Fuller House".
Tune in for a special edition of That's Entertainment as host Tammy Jones-Gibbs welcomes actress Carla Jimenez. Carla is best known for such shows as "Desperate Housewives", "The Last Man Standing" and "Raising Hope." She also starred in such movies like "Nacho Libre" and she also did the voice over of "Senora Zapata in "The Adventures Of Puss In Boots". Now she can be seen on the hit Fox's comedy, "The Mick," which begins its second season on Tuesday, September 26th at 9pm ET. Listen in LIVE at 1pm ET/10am PT as I talk with actress Carla Jimenez on www.blogtalkradio.com/tammyjones-gibbs or call in to listen at 347-637-2656. Carla Jimenez is a working actress in Los Angeles. You may have seen her in films such as, Lady in the Water, Nacho Libre and Accepted, and in the television shows Lincoln Heights, My Name is Earl and Desperate Housewives, and currently on Raising Hope and Last Man Standing. She's had a long career in film and television, and supports herself solely as an actress, which is no easy feat. She's insightful, fun, and hard working and I was grateful to hear her story! Enjoy! GROWING UP FISHER is a new NBC series that's based on the life of it's executive producer and show creator DJ Nash. IT’S NOT EVERY FAMILY THAT’S BROUGHT CLOSER TOGETHER BY DIVORCE, BUT THE FISHER FAMILY IS ANYTHING BUT TYPICAL–11-year old Henry (Eli Baker) met the most amazing person he’ll ever meet in his life when he was four-and-a-half minutes old, his dad, Mel Fisher (J.K. Simmons). Mel’s an incredible father and successful lawyer…who happens to be blind. Ever since he can remember, Henry has always been his dad’s eyes and wingman, so when his parents decide to separate, he’s less than thrilled that his job has been outsourced to Mel’s new guide dog, Elvis. Meanwhile, his mother, Joyce (Jenna Elfman), begins a quest to find herself, essentially becoming a teenager in her forties. This is an unfortunate turn for the family’s actual teenage daughter, Katie (Ave Deluca-Verley), who finds herself reluctantly taking on the maternal role in the family. Lance Lim also stars as Henry’s best friend, Runyen. Voice-over by Jason Bateman. Harold Perrineau, Matthew Glave, Bill Fagerbakke, Isabela Moner, Carla Jimenez and Sam Pancake guest star. The pilot was directed by David Schwimmer. 'The series will preview commercial free on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 10:38 p.m. ET/PT following primetime Olympic coverage of the Closing Ceremonies before settling into its normal timeslot on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 9:30 p.m.
