What happens when a city kid from Lincoln Heights stares into the glowing red eyes of something unexplainable in the Yosemite wilderness — and walks away changed forever? In this gripping and eerie episode, we sit down with Rudy Escobar, a Southern California native who shares multiple encounters with creatures he believes were Bigfoot, stretching from the shadowy pines of Sequoia National Park to the moonlit lake edges of Yosemite. Rudy recounts the terrifying moment when a creature stood up — over nine feet tall — with glowing candy-apple red eyes, walking smoothly across the forest like it was gliding. From childhood dreams and paralyzing fear to logs thrown at his car and strange psychic abilities, Rudy's story is more than just an encounter — it's a haunting transformation. You'll hear tales from Dorst Camp and the San Bernardino Mountains — and by the end, you'll wonder what you would do if a tree started watching you back.

After weeks of late, unsuitable or unsavory school lunches, two west Auckland schools today had their first opportunity to put their concerns to a real-life person from the group behind the revamped lunch programme. Massey Primary school has been receiving Pita Pit for the last nine days and Lincoln Heights has had Butter Chicken for 11 days out of 17. Reporter Louise Ternouth visited the schools' principals as they finally got the chance to speak with the group behind the beleaguered programme.

//The Wire//2300Z February 10, 2025////ROUTINE////BLUF: UNREST BREWING IN LINCOLN HEIGHTS, OHIO. EXPLOSION OCCURS AT CHEMICAL FACTORY IN PA. AIRCRAFT COLLISION IN SCOTTSDALE RESULTS IN ONE FATALITY.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------HomeFront-Arizona: This afternoon an aircraft collision was reported at the Scottsdale Airport, which resulted in at least one fatality and several people injured. AC: As this is currently a developing situation, few details are confirmed at this time. Local reports suggest that a private Learjet 35A experienced a hard landing, which resulted in a landing gear collapse and the subsequent ground collision with another parked jet.Pennsylvania: Yesterday morning an explosion and subsequent fire were reported at a chemical factory in Crawford County. Shelter-in-place advisories were reported in the vicinity of the Parker Lord Corporation in Saegertown, as the incident resulted in a total of 15x people being hospitalized for various injuries sustained throughout the incident. As of this morning, the fire has been extinguished, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.Ohio: Civil disturbances were reported yesterday in Lincoln Heights following various political/social protests. A small group of individuals wearing/carrying neo-Nazi/National Socialist paraphernalia marched along a section of highway in the vicinity of the on-ramp to Interstate 75. The "march" concluded on top of the overpass to the highway, likely so as to allow their demonstration materials (flags, signs, etc) to be seen by passersby on the interstate below. In response to this demonstration, the residents of the nearby low-income housing projects have emplaced what are self-described as "checkpoints" throughout the area. The main "checkpoint" is located at the corner of Mangham Drive and Dorothy Court, at grid: 16S GJ 19975 46914. Other "checkpoints" have been emplaced throughout the area, however most of the activity could largely be described as the locals of housing projects standing around on various street corners with guns, on the lookout for anyone who they disapprove of. AC: Additionally, locals posted on social media that they slashed the tires of participants of the demonstration on the overpass, though at this time it's possible that random vehicles were attacked, which were not necessarily related to any protest or demonstration.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: The situation in Ohio, while not entirely uncommon, is at risk of becoming a local conflagration. As evidenced by the actual people on the street (and their first-hand posts on social media) the dozens of military aged males, all openly armed and demanding for passersby to roll down their windows to check for certain people transiting the area...these are not entirely the hallmarks of a stable situation. On the other side of the conflict, demonstrations by local "neo-Nazis" were absolutely intended to stoke this response, as there really isn't anything in the local area but very heavily-entrenched housing projects. Once the hornet's nest was kicked, the initial "protesters" rapidly moved out of the area. It's not immediately clear as to which group the "neo-Nazi's" were affiliated with as all of the paraphernalia demonstrated during the protest was generic and not indicative of one specific group. This does not appear to have mattered much, however, as they were not on location very long before departing as the locals began to respond to their demonstration. Also of note, the "checkpoints" as geolocated based on social media posts...aren't actually in the community of the armed individuals. A few sites where armed men have been observed are deeper into the housing projects, but the main "checkpoint" is not located at the entrance of a sub-division or apartment complex, rather being situated on a heavily trafficked thoroughfare that leads to a major highway.
Over the weekend, a group of Neo-Nazis took over a bridge over I-75 in what appeared to be a demonstration. As details of the event begin to emerge, Scott talks with Lincoln Heights Councilmember Deronce Daniels about what happened and what the next steps are to to protect the citizens of Lincoln Heights.

Send us a textWelcome back to 50Talk this is Episode 126. Your Host's Victor and Cathy are happy to be back with you all again this week. We are on a roll, two weeks in a row with a great episode. Let's start off our show with a "Happy Black History Month" even though our government isn't recognizing this month or any other Special Celebration by any other group similar to Black History. This is where we are as a country today. This week we have one of our favorites joining us this week. Welcome back to the show our cousin Kyla. Kyla always comes on the show and does a great job. She has so much knowledge and brings her great personality each time she is with us. We get right into it with Kyla. "What and when are the Republican Party going to stop President Trump and his boyfriend Elon Musk? They are destroying our government and most of our politicians are just sitting around watching it happen. All I can say is Jasmine Crockett for President. She is the only one in my eyes that is saying anything and doing anything to stop these people. Cathy and I called our State Representative in Congress and both of us were worried about what we were told and what was said by Mr. Lata's staff. I personally felt like this guy talked down to me and they told Cathy that they don't respond to every News story out there. I think they just took our calls and they responded because tons of people are calling there representatives all over the country. It's Superbowl weekend and who do you guys have winning the game? I think Kansas City will win (again) but it would be nice to see Philadelphia win it all again. The President will be in attendance and the "end racism" that's been in NFL endzones for a couple years will be removed for this game. Why do we think the reason they are removing it is because the President will be there? I think a lot of us can answer that question but please, let me know your thoughts on all of this as it pertains to the Superbowl. Please send us an email at victor50talk@gmail.com.In Kyla's neck of the woods in Cincinnati, Ohio they white supremacists have shown up again but this time they had resistance from the community. The historically black community of Lincoln Heights rallied together to remove those folks and burn up their hatred. We need more of this around the country. Peaceful shows of force to show these hateful people we won't stand for this. Here in Elyria, Ohio we have a prisoner on the run with handcuffs on. It's been almost five days and they can't seem to locate this kid. How does someone in police custody get away with the cuffs on? I will for sure keep you all updated on this story as we here more. I have no faith in the Elyria media but I will find information somewhere for you guys eventually. Thank you all for joining us this week. We hope you enjoy this long episode with our girl Kyla. We will see you all next week.

In a short, special one-off episode of "What to do in L.A. this Week," we take you to the (decommissioned) Lincoln Heights Jail, one of L.A.'s most notorious jails that once housed Al Capone and victims of the Zoot Suit Riots! A beautiful Art Deco complex on the banks of the L.A. River, THIS is what you're going to do in L.A. this week.
Lincoln Heights was full of hard-working Black people. The town's history dates back to the 1920s when Black Southerners migrated to the Northern California town because they were promised something crucial. _____________ 2-Minute Black History is produced by PushBlack, the nation's largest non-profit Black media company. In a lot of ways, Lincoln Heights, Ohio, sounds just like any other suburb. If you walk around town, you'll hear kids playing outside the local elementary school. You'll hear the highway that takes commuters down to Cincinnati. At the woods on the edge of town, the birdsong is delightful. The town feels calm and peaceful - at least, until the gunfire starts. Most weekdays, it begins in the morning, and lasts through the afternoon. Sometimes it goes past sundown, and occasionally into the weekends. Once the shooting begins, it comes in rapid-fire waves throughout the day. People say it makes it hard to focus or relax, and those who work the night shift say they can't sleep. The noise of gunfire isn't from street violence. It all comes from an open-air gun range that's owned by the Cincinnati Police Department.Home on the Range
