A series of investigations are underway into a Kaiapoi GP who's been filmed handing out medical certificates and schooling patients in how to pass them off as official vaccine exemptions. A 16-year-old has been charged with the murder of another teenager in Christchurch - the third death of teen in the city this year. It follows the shooting dead of 16 year old Connor Whitehead last month, and the fatal stabbing of another 16-year-old, Zion Purukamu, at a party in Fendalton in August. Marlborough Sounds killer Scott Watson has again been denied parole, 23 years after he was imprisoned for the murder of Ben Smart and Olivia Hope. The 50-year-old was sentenced to life in prison in 1998 with a minimum non parole period of 17 years. He has always protested his innocence, and his father says today's ruling is frustrating. One critic says the work is the dairy co-op's attempt to deflect criticism of its role in the rising amounts of nitrate in drinking water. The study's architect says there is unreasonable fear about nitrates and very little evidence to suggest any link to cancer. Conan Young reports.

The government is being accused of caving to big business by winding back protections for wetlands. Rules, only brought in a year ago, currently stop any sort of development within 100 metres of a wetland.
