GoldMining Inc CEO Alastair Still joined Steve Darling from Proactive to outline the company's strengthening position in a rising gold market, underpinned by its disciplined long-term strategy and robust asset base. Still emphasized that GoldMining Inc. is entering a "harvest mode" phase after years of acquiring high-potential assets during market downturns. That strategy has positioned the company with one of the most enviable financial and operational profiles in the junior resource sector, including approximately C$200 million in cash and tradable securities (as of market close on June 2, 2025 and cash as of February 28, 2025) and a gold-focused portfolio totaling 12.40 million measured and indicated gold equivalent ounces, with an additional 9.10 million inferred ounces across the Americas. See the Company's website and public filings for details of individual resource estimates and particulars of underlying technical reports. “Our balance sheet is one of our key strengths,” Still stated, adding that the company is now actively unlocking value through development and monetization of these assets. A major part of that effort includes the São Jorge project in Brazil, where the company has launched the largest drilling program in its history. The goal is to advance resource definition and unlock the full value of this highly prospective project. Still also highlighted GoldMining's ability to generate shareholder value through spinouts, including the successful creation of Gold Royalty Corp., in which it still holds approximately 13%, and U.S. GoldMining Inc., a company focused on the Whistler gold-copper project in Alaska, where GoldMining retains a 79% ownership stake. Beyond gold, the company is also leveraging exposure to the energy transition by holding a uranium asset in Canada's Athabasca Basin. Notably, GoldMining recently received permits to commence drilling at this project, offering future optionality in a rising uranium market. #proactiveinvestors #goldmininginc #tsx #gold #nyseamerican #gldg #MiningStocks #GoldEquities #USGoldMining #SãoJorgeProject #GoldInvestment #CopperProjects #AthabascaUranium #MiningExploration #AlastairStill

For several years, the Kédougou region in the far east of Senegal has been experiencing a gold rush. This race for the precious metal has led to a proliferation of artisanal mining sites, drawing thousands of gold miners from across West Africa. But alongside the economic boom, the region has seen a surge in human trafficking. In particular, hundreds of Nigerian women are forced into prostitution at the mining sites. This exploitation is driven by extensive transnational networks whose reach spans nearly every gold mining site in West Africa and beyond. Our Senegal correspondents report.

AuKing Mining Ltd managing director Paul Williams talked with Proactive about the company's latest update on its Cloncurry Project in Queensland, focusing on the Mt Freda deposit. Williams confirmed that with Orion Resources nearing acquisition completion, AuKing is preparing to restart mining operations at the historical Mt Freda gold mine. Williams highlighted Mt Freda as a top target for redevelopment due to its existing mining lease and approvals, as well as a current resource estimate of around 100,000oz. "We really don't want to start a mining operation unless we've got reserves in the resource estimate," he explained, outlining the company's aim to confirm and expand those figures through an upcoming drilling program. In addition to resource verification, AuKing is evaluating two processing options: existing vat leaching pits and a nearby cavern in-leach circuit at Lorena. Williams also noted the broader potential in the surrounding six square kilometre Mt Freda Complex, which contains multiple historical deposits, hinting at further exploration upside. Drilling is expected to start within weeks of the acquisition's financial close in April, with results anticipated in the months following. Williams described the program as "a fascinating exercise," indicating renewed momentum behind the restart strategy. Martineau dives into Dynacor's operations in Peru and how they've created a unique operational framework to help earn the trust of local, small-scale gold miners. He also shares more about how they are focusing on education and safety through work with geologists, engineers and other NGO groups that support education and health within the communities where the miners operate. He concludes the conversation by discussing where Dynacor is headed to next, as they explore opportunities in Africa. [2:15] Martineau shares the history of Dynacor and how they work with artisanal miners  [9:00] Dynacor's relationship with miners in Peru and how they have built trust within the industry and with their miners  [10:51] A conversation that Martineau overheard between two miners where one shared that Dynacor is one of the only mills he has worked with that is trustworthy [16:40] The collaboration between Dynacor and NGO groups to help support education and health for miners  [20:47] New geographies Dynacor is exploring and sees the most potential to expand in the future [26:34] Martineau shares his fun fact about gold    Additional Resources: www.gold.org Dynacor Group Jean Martineau LinkedIn Dynacor Group: Construction of a Pilot Plant in Senegal   Notable Quotes: “We work very transparently with the miners.” -Jean Martineau “I always tell our guys we are working on a long-term basis. I prefer to lose one miner, than lose our reputation.” -Jean Martineau “At the beginning, in the 2000's there were no rules, but now our government tried to formalize that and they began in Peru formalizing the process in 2012, so since then we have established a complete transparency standard. So, each time we have a new miner coming in, we have 25 points we verify - if he's really registered, if he's working legally, if he's working in this concession or the other one. So, everything is verified this way.” -Jean Martineau About World Gold Council We are a membership organization that champions the role gold plays as a strategic asset, shaping the future of a responsible and accessible gold supply chain. Murena, which provides privacy-focused software and smartphones, has partnered with ethical smartphone hardware manufacturer Fairphone on a Black Friday campaign to donate and highlight the ethical mining of gold, a key component in smartphone manufacturing. Rather than reducing prices, from 25th November - 2nd December the brands will be donating €40 for every Fairphone smartphone purchased through murena.com to a Fairmined-certified Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) project in Huila, Colombia. Gold is a key component in smartphone circuitry. In the entirety of human history, 200,000 tonnes of gold have been mined and allegedly only 50,000 tonnes of reserves remain. Being a limited, valuable resource, the mining of gold often involves illegal activity, human exploitation, and destruction of the natural environment. The Murena and Fairphone donations will benefit the Iquira mine in Huila, Colombia, an agro-mining cooperative. Certified under the Fairmined Standard since 2014, Iquira mines in a responsible way, protecting nature while ensuring fair wages for its people. The Fairmined certification helps artisanal and small-scale mining organisations become sustainable, responsible businesses. It grants access to fair markets and offers a premium, benefiting both the miners and their communities. The certification also promotes better governance through ethical practices, transparency, and long-term improvements, fostering positive change in the mining sector. The Huila region is one of Colombia's most ecologically diverse areas but faces serious issues including pollution, water contamination, and deforestation, stemming from unsustainable resource management. Gaël Duval, CEO at Murena said, "At Murena, we believe that technology should empower people and we're proud to join forces with Fairphone during Black Friday, a time when the focus is often on consumption. Instead of discount incentives that encourage consumption, we are thrilled to be jointly supporting Fairmined, a great project that is helping to make working conditions better for the people who are mining the materials in our phones. Together, we can support ethical technology that respects both the environment and human rights, paving the way for a more sustainable future." Monique Lempers, Chief Impact Officer at Fairphone said, "We're proud to show that there's a different way to approach Black Friday. We want to encourage our customers to consume electronics responsibly. By buying a Murena Fairphone during the Black Friday period, they purchase a long-lasting smartphone with open source software and ethically sourced materials; and as an extra, they will directly donate to a responsible gold mine in Colombia." In addition to being used for electronics, gold mined at Iquira has been used to create prestigious awards like the Nobel Peace Prize and the Cannes Film Festival's Palme D'Or. Murena is a corporation that designs and sells Murena smartphones with /e/OS, a pro-privacy mobile operating system, and the Murena Cloud, an online workspace that provides media and office document management, email, and calendar services. /e/OS is an open-source mobile operating system that is committed to providing better data privacy and security for individuals and corporations. It provides advanced privacy features, such as tracker management, while offering a user-friendly experience, and full compatibility with all mobile applications. Fairphone is a pioneering leader in the ethical smartphone industry, committed to creating quality sustainable products that are built to last as transparently as possible, challenging the status quo of the electronics industry. By prioritizing fairness, environmental responsibility, and social impact, Fairphone aims to inspire positive change across the technology sector and beyond. Sety in the Desert. Around 1300 BCE, King Sety led an expedition into the Red Sea hills. His purpose? Gold. The King brought soldiers and charioteers out to mine precious metals for his treasuries. The journey was difficult, traversing a dry and rocky landscape far from the comforts of home. Fortunately, Sety left detailed descriptions of the event; and art and artefacts from this era allow us to reconstruct the journey... For decades, Ghana has been Africa's leading producer of gold. Most of its mining takes place legally. But small-scale, illegal gold mining — known locally as “galamsey” — has become a major problem. Toxic chemicals from the process are polluting Ghana's water - 60% of its waterways are now contaminated. But as the country's economy struggles, many involved in the practice say they lack an alternative to get by. BBC Reporter Favour Nunoo in Accra explains how illegal mining is impacting the environment and people's well-being. We also hear from two protestors who recently took to the streets demanding government action ahead of elections in December. Led by President and CEO Louis-Pierre Gignac, the company is strategically positioned to capitalize on the current favorable gold price environment while building a substantial production base. The cornerstone of GMIN's operations is the Tocantinzinho (TZ) gold project in Brazil, which recently achieved commercial production on time and within budget. This accomplishment demonstrates the company's operational capabilities and sets the stage for positive cash flow generation. TZ is designed to produce approximately 175,000 ounces of gold annually, with potential to reach close to 200,000 ounces, providing a solid foundation for the company's growth ambitions.GMIN's next major growth driver is the Oko West project in Guyana, which represents a significant step-up in scale. Oko West is projected to produce 353,000 ounces of gold annually for 13 years, potentially more than doubling the company's output. With an estimated NPV5 of $1.4 billion at a gold price of $1,950 per ounce, this project offers substantial value creation potential for shareholders.Further expanding its project pipeline, GMIN recently acquired the Gurupi CentroGold project in Brazil from BHP. This strategic acquisition provides the company with a high-quality resource base of 1.7 million ounces of indicated resources and 0.6 million ounces of inferred resources, along with significant exploration upside across a 1,900 square kilometer land package.A key differentiator for GMIN is its team's expertise in project development and execution. The company emphasizes thorough planning, risk management, and community engagement in its approach to project development. This focus on responsible development not only aligns with increasing ESG considerations in the mining sector but also helps mitigate operational risks.GMIN has outlined a clear growth strategy aimed at becoming a million-ounce annual gold producer. The company plans to achieve this through a combination of optimizing production at TZ, developing Oko West, advancing studies and exploration at Gurupi, and potentially pursuing strategic acquisitions. The current macroeconomic environment provides a supportive backdrop for GMIN's growth plans. High gold prices, driven by inflationary pressures, geopolitical uncertainties, and economic concerns, are enhancing the economics of the company's projects. As CEO Gignac notes, "We never expected to be producing gold at these prices when we did our planning. So that's a sweet spot and ideal timing for us to be completing a project."For investors, GMIN offers exposure to a growth-oriented gold mining company with a diversified project portfolio at various stages of development. The company's successful execution at Tocantinzinho, the significant potential of Oko West, and the long-term opportunities presented by the CentroGold project create a compelling investment case. However, potential investors should also consider the risks inherent in mining development, including possible cost overruns, permitting challenges, and gold price volatility. Despite these considerations, GMIN's experienced management team, focus on efficient execution, and clear growth strategy position the company as an attractive option for those seeking exposure to the gold mining sector with substantial upside potential.View G Mining Venture's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/g-mining-venturesSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Interview with Doug Ramshaw, President & Director of Minera Alamos Inc.Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/minera-alamos-mai-focus-is-on-growing-low-cost-gold-production-2758Recording date: 18th September 2024Minera Alamos, a gold producer and developer operating in northern Mexico, presents an intriguing opportunity for investors seeking exposure to the gold mining sector. The company's strategy, centered on disciplined growth and a strong focus on free cash flow generation, sets it apart in an industry often characterized by aggressive expansion and capital-intensive projects.Led by President Doug Ramshaw, Minera Alamos is navigating the complex landscape of Mexican mining with a portfolio of projects at various stages of development. The company's flagship operation, the Santana mine in Sonora State, demonstrates management's operational flexibility. In response to challenging market conditions, the team made the strategic decision to scale back production at Santana, prioritizing balance sheet protection over short-term output. This move positions the company for potential production increases as market conditions improve. The company's most promising asset, the Cerro de Oro project in Zacatecas State, could be a game-changer for Minera Alamos. With a base case scenario of 60,000 ounces of gold production annually for over 8 years and an attractive all-in sustaining cost (AISC) profile, Cerro de Oro has the potential to generate significant free cash flow. At a gold price of $2,000 per ounce, the project is estimated to produce $58 million in annual free cash flow, a substantial figure for a company of Minera Alamos' size.Investors should note the company's approach to capital allocation and financing. Over the past four years, Minera Alamos has raised $26 million, with $8.6 million still on hand as of June 30, 2024. This conservative approach to capital deployment could be particularly advantageous in the cyclical mining industry, where many companies struggle with dilutive financings and poor returns on invested capital. The political and regulatory environment in Mexico remains a key consideration for investors. However, with the upcoming transition of power from President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to president-elect Claudia Sheinbaum, there are indications that the permitting process for mining projects may improve. Minera Alamos appears well-positioned to benefit from any positive shifts in the regulatory landscape, particularly with its Cerro de Oro project.Potential catalysts for the company include progress on permitting for Cerro de Oro, production ramp-up at Santana, and positive developments in the project timeline for Cerro de Oro. However, investors should also be mindful of risks, including ongoing political uncertainty in Mexico, gold price volatility, and the inherent operational risks in mining.Minera Alamos' emphasis on free cash flow generation and disciplined growth could appeal to investors seeking gold exposure with a focus on shareholder returns. The company's projected free cash flow yield, particularly from the Cerro de Oro project, may compare favorably to larger gold miners, potentially offering an attractive value proposition. In conclusion, Minera Alamos represents a focused play on gold mining in Mexico, with a management team committed to capital efficiency and value creation. While the risks inherent in junior gold mining should not be overlooked, the company's strategic approach to navigating challenges and its portfolio of promising assets position it as an interesting option for investors looking to diversify their exposure to the gold sector.View Minera Alamos' company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/minera-alamosSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

We dive into the challenges of traditional gold mining, explore how Alternun is leveraging blockchain to decentralize and democratize investment opportunities in gold, and discuss how they're using liquidity pools and tokenization to fund local environmental initiatives.--Three Key Takeaways--Gold mining has significant environmental impacts, including the destruction of habitats and the release of significant carbon emissions, yet 93% of extracted gold is stored in vaults rather than utilized. This raises the question: why continue mining this precious resource and destroying environments only to sequester it away? This is the problem underlying Alternun's Digital Mining approach.Blockchain is essential in building a Digital Mining platform because it brings greater transparency, ensuring there is no double counting of tokens, while also democratizing access to gold investment opportunities through tokenization.Alternun decided to build on the Stellar Blockchain due to the low costs, fast transaction times, on-ramps and off-ramps, and the ability to charge small fees on transactions as a revenue generation tool. They also have a good grants program which has been helpful to Alternun's startup.--Full shownotes with links available at--https://www.cryptoaltruism.org/blog/crypto-altruism-podcast-episode-169-alternun-creating-wealth-regenerating-the-environment-with-onchain-digital-gold-mining
