Mark Leibovich, Chief National Correspondent for the New York Times Magazine, follows up his #1 bestseller THIS TOWN with a probing examination of pro-football at a moment of peak success and high anxiety BIG GAME: THE NFL IN DANGEROUS TIMES.  This native Bostonian apologizes for those famously annoying Patriots fans, and discusses the Patriots superfan in the White House and Trump’s weird obsession with Tom Brady.  He offers an unprecedented glimpse inside the one club that Donald Trump could never join…the exclusive group of 32 billionaire NFL owners known as “The Membership.”   He reveals how Patriots owner Robert Kraft whines about not getting credit for the team’s success and some comments about Kraft’s love of New York that that have riled fans in Beantown.  We talk about the rivalry between Kraft and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Mark recalls losing a drinking contest with Jones on the famously raucous Cowboys bus.  He discusses fans hatred of Roger Goodell’s astronomical salary and why the “Membership” still protects the much maligned NFL Commissioner.  He reveals just how worried owners were about the national anthem controversy and how it shined a light on the startling racial disparities in pro-football.  Plus we talk about deflategate, Superbowl excess, concussions, and ask “has America has reached peak football?” Order Mark Leibovich's book BIG GAME: THE NFL IN DANGEROUS TIMES on Amazon, Audible, or wherever books are sold.  Keep up with Mark at www.markleibovich.com or on twitter at @MarkLeibovich.  Today's podcast is sponsored by Heineken, GooglePlay Audiobooks, The Dave Dameshek Football Program, and Espresso Monster.

The Russell Wilson contract talks now have a deadline and it's set for the start of training camp. Will this entire offseason saga finally come to a conclusion, or will it continue to linger? Only time will tell. Adam turns the discussion toward asking the question about why money is the end goal. Can a player put a price tag on avoiding the media drama? Perhaps Russell Okung has it figured out as he says he's going to represent himself in upcoming negotiations. We also reset the interview from last week with Seahawks long snapper Nate Boyer and talk about some of the things that came up in his interview. TD, producer of the Around the NFL, Dave Dameshek Football Program and Move the Sticks podcasts, joins the show as the official/unofficial Russell Wilson and Ciara relationship correspondent. Should we be worried about the seemingly disparate nature of Wilson's relationship with Ciara? Adam suggests Russell might need someone like Hitch in his corner to help him work through these early stages of the relationship. Last week the BC Lions and Saskatchewan Roughriders played for our fandom, so we get into a bit of CFL. Afterwards, the guys move on to a few emails and Al from Australia talks about just how different Seattle and Santa Clara are for watching a football game after having attended in back-to-back weeks last season. Lastly, an NFL stadium is compared to the mission to Pluto in the Do Better segment along with Richard Sherman's latest wish. Better at life honors go to a pair of quarterbacks: Brett Favre and Russell Wilson. iTunes | Stitcher | TuneIn | Facebook | Twitter | RSS Call or text: 253-235-9041Email: gohawks@seahawkerspodcast.comPlease fill out our short audience surveyDownload our free Amazon app, Android app, or iOS app Find Sea Hawkers clubs around the world at SeaHawkers.orgMusic from the show by The 12 Train, download each track at ReverbNation

It's official and final. Max Unger and a first-round pick are sent to New Orleans for Jimmy Graham and a fourth-round pick. Adam and Brandan take a look at some of the answers from Pete Carroll and John Schneider to questions brought up among fans after the trade went down last week. We talk some of the latest free agency news and get into who might earn a spot on the Seahawks 40th anniversary team five years after the 35th anniversary team was announces. Brandan reminds everyone that the potential is out there for a 45th anniversary team and how we want to avoid naming the next John Carlson to the team. The last time TD was on the podcast, right after the Seahawks NFC Championship victory, he was adamant he was not a Seahawks fan. Then last week on the Dave Dameshek Football Program, Around the NFL and Move the Sticks podcasts we hear that he's officially declared his Seattle fandom. We ask him what changed over the last few weeks and what role (if any) this podcast played in his decision. We take a call and read emails before getting into Adam's do better directed at most of the NFL for not giving Tim Tebow a chance and Brandan blasts reports that Tebow was denied an invite to the veteran combine. Better at life nods go to retired 49ers linebacker Chris Boreland and Brandan gives the honor to Jimmy Graham and the Whodat Princess. iTunes | Stitcher | TuneIn | Facebook | Twitter | RSS Call or text: 253-235-9041 Email: gohawks@seahawkerspodcast.com Please fill out our short audience survey Download our free Amazon app Find Sea Hawkers clubs around the world at SeaHawkers.org Music from the show by The 12 Train, download each track at ReverbNation

After witnessing the greatest comeback in the history of NFL championship games, Adam and Brandan take a look at the top plays that won the game for Seattle as well as those plays that contributed to the Packers downfall. The Seahawks fell behind early and allowed 16 unanswered points by halftime. Seattle was within 12 points with less than four minutes remaining before rallying for the win. This week's guest is the producer of several podcasts including the Dave Dameshek Football Program, Around the NFL, Move the Sticks and the Coaches Show. TD joins us to talk Seahawks, the origin of the "sexy deep ball" thrown by Russell Wilson and a look ahead to the matchup with the Patriots. The guys read your emails, take calls and respond to some Faceboook comments. Golden Tate and New York Times columnist Richard Sandomir are called out in the "Do Better" portion of the show. "Better at Life" honors go to Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork and Brandan selects both Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas for their toughness during Sunday's game. There is no argument that John Elway is the leader in the clubhouse for NFL players who wore No. 7. Even though there is a half-hearted argument given to Ben Roethlisberger. But is the jersey No. 7 the greatest sports number ever? The gang discusses that and Dave gives his view on who wore No. 7 the best -- Mickey Mantle or Elway. The gang also gets into the business of which Los Angeles Rams jersey is the best of all-time, based off Adam Rank's Pick Six. You might want to sit down for this news -- our own Necktie Milner got us a guest! And a damn good one, if I don't mind saying so -- Jason La Canfora.   Great guest, Dylan. In other words, this was not only a pure delight, but just the first-part of a special edition of the Dave Dameshek Football Program.
