The XFL draft is taking place next week. According to the league, almost 6,000 players have been evaluated at XFL showcases, NFL training camps, and tryouts. The top prospects from these evaluations have been invited to enter the XFL Draft pool of 1700 players, who are vying for 528 spots in training camp and 400 active player roster spots. Regardless of the fact only one quarter of players in the draft pool will ever play a down of XFL football, players are always on the hunt for playing opportunities and are excited to hear whether they have been selected by an XFL team. In this podcast, host Mark Nelson speaks to two such players. First you will hear from Dwayne Wallace, an offensive lineman and a veteran of the previous XFL who played for the Los Angeles Wildcats. You will hear Dwayne talk about his football past and the fantastic story of how he convinced Wildcat head coach Winston Moss to pick him in the 2019 supplemental draft. The second guest is wide receiver Antwane Grant, another player who is in the XFL draft pool. Antwane will tell us about his time with the NFL's Bengals, the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders, and the AFL's Atlantic City Blackjacks. Between the NFL, CFL and AFL , Grant is going through the alphabet of football leagues. He just needs an “X” in his collection. Music: Are You Ready – Free music archive.
It's that bittersweet time of year for the Rouge White & Blue CFL Podcast: The CFL playoffs have begun, signaling another season's end is near – but on the other hand, the Saskatchewan Roughriders are no longer playing. So RWB co-hosts Joe Pritchard and Os Davis are onto the playoffs! Specifically, round 1 of the 2022 CFL playoffs pitting the Hamilton Tiger-Cats against he Montreal Alouettes on the East side and the Calgary Stampeders at BC Lions in the West. With no more playoff scenarios to be had, the RWB instead gives you the scenarios in which each team can win its respective game. Picks and predictions, too! The Rouge White & Blue CFL Podcast: Playoffs?!?!?
Sportsnet's Peter Loubardias shares his thoughts on the Flames' 6-3 loss to the Sabres. He discusses his expectations for their tilt with the Hurricanes. Sportsnet's Matty Rose previews the Stampeders' matchup with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Remember way back in early July, when the Saskatchewan Roughriders got off to a quick start and start near the top of the CFL West standings at 4-1? The Rouge, White & Blue Podcast sure does – nevertheless, RWB co-hosts Os Davis and Joe Pritchard were, like, most of CFL fandom, to find out that Riders head coach Craig Dickenson had during the bye week benched Cody Fajardo, who subsequently more or less declared the end of his time in Regina. The RWB talks the Fajardo/Riders story, with emphasis on the Riders' short-term franchise morass, as well as a swell 1980s CFL board game before taking week 18 games – and how Os came upon a religious-like revelation regarding the 2022 Montreal Alouettes. We've also got picks and predictions for week 19, including just how many week 20 games will be relevant at all. The Rouge White & Blue CFL Podcast: Just keep rolling those dice and everything will be fine.
Rob and Murray discuss the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Their playoff chances depend on having a better record than the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Both sit at 6-10 so far this season. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
This week, Rob is joined by CTV Regina's Brit Dort to discuss the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The Riders have a bye week but are coming off a loss against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on October 7, a loss which dropped Saskatchewan's record to 6-10 on the season. Learn more about your ad choices. On this week's show, Mike and Josh discuss the Ticats trading Alden Darby to Winnipeg, the Redblacks firing Paul LaPolice, the Stamps giving Jake Maier a contract extension and what that means for Bo Levi Mitchell's future, the CFL once again screwing up the tiny things, and they preview Friday's massively important matchup between the Tiger-Cats and Saskatchewan Roughriders.

It all seems like business as usual on the Rouge White & Blue CFL Podcast for a while. Co-hosts Joe Pritchard and Os Davis discuss the week that was in Canadian football: Os enthuses about his Montreal Alouettes, both pity the Ottawa Redblacks fanbase and the sad fate of head coach Paul LaPolice, admire the razor-sharp Calgary Stampeders and wonder where BC can go from here. Then, as Joe recounts playoff scenarios, Os has a revelation that the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Hamilton Tiger-Cats could both miss the CFL playoffs in 2022, which threatens to derail the entire enterprise with Os happily babbling “So you're saying there's a chance” for several hours straight. Luckily Joe manages to coax Os back to reality in time to play CFL Pick ‘Em for week 17 and plan for ways to lose money betting CFL games. All in all, it's a lot of fun – though maybe not so much if you're not a Ticats fan… The Rouge White & Blue podcast: Oddball Americans loving the Canadian game
The CFL might have been slightly short on number of games in week 15, but three games gave us plenty to discuss on the Rouge White & Blue CFL Podcast. So RWB co-hosts Joe Pritchard and Os Davis mull over items like the Edmonton Elks' late fourth-quarter win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and the Riders' rapidly slipping grip – formerly a stranglehold – on a playoff spot via crossover. Like just how seriously we should take the Hamilton Tiger-Cats after they ran up the score on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Like why the Calgary Stampeders keep taking these heartbreak losses. And like how good things might get if/when Vernon Adams really gets rolling with the BC Lions. Plus, Joe's got playoff scenarios mostly involving West teams but including , Os has some adventures in gambling, and both the RWBs've got picks for next week's games. The Rouge White & Blue podcast: Always keeping the ratio correct…

When is a blowout not a blowout? Trick question: A blowout is always a blowout, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun. On this episode of the Rouge White & Blue CFL podcast talks about the four emphatic wins of CFL week 14 as co-host Os Davis is relieved former Montreal starting QBs Vernon Adams Jr. and Antonio Pipkin didn't make his Alouettes look bad while co-host Joe Pritchard enjoyed his beloved Winnipeg Blue Bombers taking yet another one from the increasingly discombobulated-looking Saskatchewan Roughriders. The RWB also marvels at the incredible trolling of fantasy football players by the Calgary Stampders, who first gave Tommy Stevens 10 carries including four touchdowns in quite possibly the GOAT fantasy vulture performance, then finished with a garbage-time KaDeem Carey TD which flipped many a matchup -- including Os's. Then Joe brings us playoff scenarios – playoff scenario, really – and Os crunches the numbers (and schedule) to paint an ugly picture of a CFL with just two teams over .500 at season's end. We've also got picks and predictions for CFL week 14; in short, a couple of these games could get ugly again. The Rouge White & Blue podcast: What a blowout!
Rob and Murray discuss the sickening performance of the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Winnipeg, ongoing criticism of Cody Fajardo and what makes the Bombers so dang good. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

You want your CFL-flavored rants? Rouge White & Blue CFL podcast co-host Os Davis's got your rants right here. Naturally, he's got bones to pick with Trevor Harris and his Montreal Alouettes in general, another bad boy Saskatchewan Roughriders player, irrational Riders fans on Twitter and the excruciating inevitably of those Riders crossing over. Luckily, RWB co-host Joe Pritchard keeps to his wits more solidly and is able to offer some more clearheaded analysis about week 13 in the Canadian Football League, and Os manages to get it together enough for picks and predictions for next week's games… The Rouge White & Blue podcast: Ranting about the games is half the fun…

The Dallas Cowboys are signing Canadian offensive lineman Dakoda Shepley to their practice roster, according to TSN's Farhan Lalji. The 27-year-old was waived by the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday as part of the NFL's cutdown day. He joined the team in September 2021 after he was claimed off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers. He suited up for eight games with the Seahawks but did not see any offensive snaps. The UBC product made his NFL debut with the 49ers in 2020 after being called up from the practice squad in Week 14. He finished the season by dressing for the final three games with San Francisco. Shepley was a first-round pick of the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 2018 CFL Draft. He signed with the team in March 2019 following a stint with the New York Jets and started 14 games at right guard that season, winning the team's Most Outstanding Rookie award. The native of Windsor, Ont. opted out of his CFL contract in August 2020 to pursue the NFL, signing a one-year deal with the 49ers. His contract with the Riders has since expired, which will allow him to sign with any team in the CFL should he choose to return north of the border. Shepley performed well at the 2018 CFL Combine with 27 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, a 5.15 hand-timed 40-yard dash, 4.72 shuttle, 8.01 three-cone, 31-inch vertical, and eight-foot, 9.5-inch broad jump. His combination of size and athleticism drew the attention of NFL scouts. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lawsnation/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/lawsnation/support

XFL insider Mike Mitchell returns to the program to recap and analyze a BUSY week in the alt-football landscape. We cover ALL of the big XFL announcements from the last week including the 8 2023 cities the XFL will be playing in, the venues and coaches attached to those cities, and the XFL's announcement that they will be housing and training all of their players in Arlington for the first 3 years in a recently announced “hub” format. Which alt-football league has the better plan for the more successful “hub” in 2023, the XFL's Arlington-based hub with plans to fly teams out to local markets on the weekend, or the USFL's approach of basing all their team in Birmingham and potentially a second (or third/fourth) market, we get Mike Mitchell's thoughts. We also cover the latest lawsuit facing the XFL and the surprise collapse of Major League Football (MLFB) just weeks before kickoff. Daniella Ponticelli of 620CKRM also stops by the show to preview CFL week 8 including a match between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and America's team the BC Lions. The XFL is FINALLY…making some big announcements that listeners of The Markcast and readers of XFL News Hub have known for quite some time, we now OFFICIALLY know the eight teams the XFL will be playing in when they return to the field in 2023. Mike Mitchell, XFL insider, and XFL News Hub contributor makes a return appearance to the program to give his in-depth thoughts and analysis on everything XFL. We talk about the venues the XFL will be playing in, the head coaches attached to the cities, and get Mike's thoughts on the “Texas Triangle” of 3 Texas-based XFL teams while the league opted to pull out of New York, Los Angeles, and Tampa Bay. The XFL is potentially learning from some mistakes made by the USFL with their hub in 2022 and looking to spend more to build more connections with fans in their local markets. Will the spending spree of hiring local staff in all eight XFL team markets be enough? We discuss. Also, breaking news today coming into the newsroom also includes the recently filed NEW lawsuit against Vince McMahon, The Rock, WWE, and more over XFL “trade secrets” and the surprise (but not unexpected) collapse of MLFB which has left many of their players stranded without hotel rooms or plans for the future.Daniella Ponticelli of 620 CKRM also stops by the program to round out our alt-football coverage with a little CFL talk. The BC Lions are headed to Regina for the weekend to take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders, we get Daniella's thoughts on the match and the rest of the major storylines in the CFL headed into week 8. Should the CFL be scheduling more games on Sundays to take advantage of the recent uptick in viewers following the rescheduled Argonauts vs. Roughriders game? Whom does Daniella have pegged as her early MOP candidates?
