This week's focus is on the legendary pitching icon Ferguson Jenkins, who is arguably the greatest ballplayer that Canada has ever produced (with all apologies to Larry Walker) and indeed one of the country's finest all-around athletes ever. During a time that many consider "The Golden Age Of Pitching", Fergie stood shoulder to shouler with the era's greats, and he towered above the rest. He is the only (and most likely the last, considering the evolution of the bullpen in the modern game) pitcher in the last 50 years to win at least 20 games a year, for six consecutive seasons, and along with Greg Maddux, Pedro Martinez and Curt Schilling, they are the only four pitchers in the game's long history with 3,000 strikeouts to their credit, and less than 1,000 walks surrendered. From Chatham, Ontario to Cooperstown, NY, I give you the life and baseball journey of this pitching great. #FergusonArthurJenkins #Fergie #DeloresJenkins #ChathamOntario #ChathamVocationalHighSchool #TerrysCoalYard #GerryMcCaffery #DaveDziadura #PhiladelphiaPhillies #ChicagoCubs #TexasRangers #BostonRedSox #JimBunning #BobGibson #HarlemGlobetrotters #GaryTempleton

HR1 - Charlie McAvoy's injury and Alex Cora responding to Triston Casas kick off the show in the 6 O'clock Headlines. Then, Alex Cora made a connection to Curt Schilling which isn't great and gives signs that sound like a former Patriots' coach that was recently fired. And, Masataka Yoshida is another Sox player who's potentially changing positions and his response is what Devers and Casas should be saying.
Alex Cora spoke about Triston Casas' wild comments from yesterday and made a comparison to his former teammate Curt Schilling which should scare the young first baseman.

Is Alex Bregman worth signing even in the short term? Would it even make sense if the Cubs signed him and traded Nico Hoerner to save a few bucks? Who was a bigger prick, Jim Edmonds, Curt Schilling or Troy Glaus? The answer of course is Trevor Bauer. Does Shohei count as a pitcher on the Dodgers' roster? Why would anybody trade for Nolan Arenado and not have him play third? Does Justin Turner have anything left...and we don't only mean hair. Does Jed really think he can't talk about free agents? Why did the Cardinals fall apart and why is it so fun to watch? David Brown is here to answer all these questions, hear the best Charles Barkley story and more.

Apologies for the re-run. Bill's family had a medical issue this week (everyone is fine, thankfully), so we are re-releasing our 2018 episode on the fascinating Glenn Davis and the disastrous trade that Orioles made to acquire him. In the long history of trades, few have ever been so disastrous for a team than the Orioles acquisition of Glenn Davis, 34 years ago this week, for Pete Harnisch, Steve Finley, and Curt Schilling. Perhaps a good idea in theory, Davis was a rising star from a horrifying childhood whose bizarre injury issues kept scuttling any chance he had of fulfilling his promise in Baltimore. (Disclaimer: This episode contains frank discussions of child abuse and suicide.)

Kansas City Royals legend Alex Gordon joins Eric Hosmer & Mike Moustakas in the 1st edition of Diggin' At Home!Gordo takes us back to his baseball roots in Nebraska, playing for the Cornhuskers, and becoming the 2nd overall pick in the 2005 MLB Draft. He shares what it was like coming up as a young player in the Royals organization and overcoming hard times early in his career. Gordo also takes us behind scenes of the conversations he had with Dayton Moore early on about transitioning from 3rd base to the outfield, a move that would lead to him winning 8x Gold Gloves, and at the time made room for a young Moose to fill that spot. The guys discuss the current state of the Royals and why the future is so bright with a guy like Bobby Witt Jr. in the clubhouse. As an assistant coach, Gordo breaks down what he saw from this past season and why he's excited about what's to come in KC. Of course the guys had to take a trip down memory and talk about the glory days in Kansas City. Gordo delivers a break down of his Game 7 hit that he almost made it home on - should he have been sent home? He also gives us a comprehensive break down of his iconic home run against Jeurys Familia. Gordo shares how studying Familia's quick pitch to Salvador Perez changed his approach at the plate, leading to the game-tying home run that sent Kauffman Stadium into a frenzy. From his MLB debut against Curt Schilling to meeting George Brett as a rookie, Gordo provides an amazing look at his remarkable MLB journey.-----------------GuestAlex Gordon / @alex.gordon.4HostsEric Hosmer / @hosmer305Mike Moustakas / @moosetacos8Interact with the Diggin' Deep Crew on:Instagram / Facebook / Twitter / TikTokAdvertising & Partnership inquiries: diggindeep@moonballmedia.coma MoonBall Media Podcast
This week we profile the baseball journey of right-handed power pitcher Curt Schilling who's 3,116 career strikeouts is the 17th most ever in baseball history. He is the only pitcher to ever win a World Series game for three different teams. His 11-2 postseason win/loss record is the highest winning percentage, for pitchers in the game's history, for any pitcher with more than 10 appearances in the post. His 5-0 record and 1.37 ERA in elimination games, and his 3-0 record and 1.12 ERA in series clinching games, establishes him as one of the most clutch performers to ever lace them up. Even with all these aclompishments, Schilling finds himself on the outside looking in, on a Hall Of Fame induction. A casualty of the " cancel culture wars" being fought in a polarized America. #CurtSchilling #BaltimoreOrioles #HoustonAstros #PhiladelphiaPhillies #ArizonaDiamondbacks #BostonRedSox #BloodySockGame
