Juice WRLD, whose real name was Jarad Anthony Higgins, was a highly talented and influential rapper who made a significant impact on the music industry during his tragically short career. Born on December 2, 1998, in Chicago, Illinois, Juice WRLD began his musical journey at a young age, showcasing his exceptional skills as a rapper, singer, and songwriter. He gained widespread recognition with his breakout hit "Lucid Dreams," which showcased his unique blend of emo-rap and melodic hooks. Juice WRLD's music often delved into themes of heartbreak, mental health struggles, and drug abuse, reflecting his own personal battles and resonating deeply with his young fanbase. His raw and emotional lyrics, coupled with his infectious melodies, made him an icon among the SoundCloud rap scene. Tragically, on December 8, 2019, Juice WRLD passed away at the age of 21 due to a drug-related medical emergency. Despite his untimely death, his music continues to inspire and connect with millions of listeners around the world, leaving behind a lasting legacy as one of the most talented and influential artists of his generation. For some random reason we start off talking about our favorite songs that we found out about via memes! Mike and Jabair talk about some recent gigs, while Mike updates us on what's been hitting and what's been flopping ,and how tik tok has made Jersey Club easier to play in the club. Then, Mike and Joe start reminiscing on the days as employees at Armand's records and Doc B's influence on record buying. As usual we all run down some new music that we're feeling, including Mike's surrender to emo pop rap. We go over some mid 2000's dancehall classics and wish they were still being made and Mike asks the listeners to help him figure out what riddim the new Ape Drums track reminds me of. We listen to some new UK drill, paticularly from Ivorian Doll and Jabair put us up on some new vibey stuff from DJ moma and others. We wrap it up with some tech talk and how the Cosby show was our first intro to sampling technology.
The boys are finally back, but this time as a trio! They have collaborated with GFM Radio so that they can provide live entertainment on a weekly basis. On their return, they discussed the recent adjustments to the team. They also spoke about the current feud between Chip and Stormzy, Ivorian Doll and Renee. Jabz went on to explain his upcoming music and his new venture with only fans. For those of you who have been following their journey and for the new listeners, TheRealGroupChat will be returning to YouTube, so keep your eyes peeled!! The internet has provided us with even more diss tracks this week, this time from Ivorian Doll and MISS RFABULOUS. Tune in to hear who we think took this round! London lockdown rules for Covid-19 have been heightened to tier 2, with other parts of the country facing further restrictions. We give our opinions on whether we're due a second national lockdown. To end on a lighter note, we've got more hilarious dilemmas and some interesting ‘would you rather' questions. Press play to hear all this and more! Man lyk and the man the gals lyk representing the furnace in today's episode. Pete was unable to make due to, in Rob's words "having his priorities all wrong!" Mo was equally disgusted by Pete's choice to be at church instead of Podcast but the Lord forgives and charges us to do so as well so hopefully no hard feelings! In Sorry Not Sorry we had a one for one sessions, with Rob kicking it off with a question about if the Holy Spirit can leave and return to a believer based on how they are living their life. Mo's question was about how Christ's friends may have affected him in the light of proverbs like, Birds of a feather flock together, considering Christ was found mostly amongst sinners. The guys then go on to talk about Role models, and more specifically how they feel about people like Cardi B being role models for young women. For some reason Rob also saw fit to defend Tekashi 6 9 as a gangster rapper among other random notes. Lastly some Hookups for y'all Rob suggested checking out an artist called Ivorian Doll a UK female Grime artist and Mo wants you to checkout Lecrae's latest and possibly last album and documentary called Restoration We hope you enjoy the episode and if you do please let us know in the comments and let your friends know by sharing, and if you don't, please let us know in the comments and let your friends know by sharing. We're big believers in the "win-win"Take care and stay blessed. Special thanks to RUDE (@itsrudeboy) for the intro and outro music.
