In this episode of Eye Give a Damn, Dr. Allen sits down with Dr. Jason Compton — contact lens guru, business owner, and passionate AOA volunteer — for an inspiring and practical conversation that covers the full spectrum of private practice success. Dr. Compton shares his journey of returning to the community where he was raised to open a clinic in a highly competitive area. He dives into how he builds strong patient relationships, leverages internal marketing strategies, and fosters a culture where everyone on the team understands and promotes the services they offer, especially when it comes to contact lenses and myopia control. You'll hear how Dr. Compton's clinic fits a high volume of contacts, how they communicate value to patients, and how technology and consistency play a key role in their approach. Plus, he reflects on what's next for his clinic and how he's finding the balance between offering innovative care and avoiding burnout. Whether you're looking to grow your clinic, improve your contact lens offerings, or learn how to build lasting patient trust — this episode is packed with wisdom, experience, and heart. Eye Give a Damn hosted by Dr. Joseph Allen is produced by FluoreSCENE Media. September is REALTOR Safety Month and with good reason.  Real estate agent, Jason Compton, shares his harrowing story of being held at gunpoint while showing a house.  Hear the entire story as well as how he survived and what happened to the assailant. It is guaranteed to scare you and make you mad. Unfortunately, attacks like Jason's are not unusual in the real estate profession.   Nine percent of all real estate agents reported being attacked in 2019.  Twenty-three percent of real estate agents even said that at some point in the past year they felt unsafe in their profession.  The number rises to 41% for female agents.  Only 5 percent said they never felt unsafe at work. This week's podcast provides you these stats and more from the National Association of Realtor's Annual Agent Safety Report as well as Jason's story.  And because this topic is so important we went a little over our normal 30 minutes timeframe. HERE IS THE LINK TO THE INMAN NEWS ARTICLE ON 61 SAFETY TIPS FOR REAL ESTATE AGENTS!!https://www.inman.com/2021/06/09/61-safety-tips-every-real-estate-agent-should-read/Plus another Gary's Good News. Enjoy but please like, share and subscribe!GaryThe opinions expressed herein are not necessarily the opinions of the SC Real Estate Commission upon which Mr. Pickren serves as a Board Member.
