Sermon preached by Father Matt Tebbe at The Table worship gathering on Sunday, January 21st, 2024. Epiphany 3.
Using Luke 24-44, Pastor Geehan shows how the early church preached the gospel from the Old Testament before the New was written. He also addresses how we need to focus on the gospel to change the world and not politics. Could easily have been preached today as conditions in the late 60s were eerily similar.
Key Bible Verse: "Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1: 14b-15

JESUS PREACHED - Mark 2:1-12Directly from the word of God we read where Jesus sees faith in action and reveals that He is Saviour and Healer. Get your Bible, listen, and be blessed…
203 – What if Jesus was the preacher at your church? How would things be different? Would you listen more carefully to what was said? Would you be more inspired? Would you be afraid he might read your mind and see the things you don't want anyone to know about? How would it change you? Would you invite your friends to come the next week?I've been thinking about this lately. And that's what this episode is all about. What made Jesus a good preacher? Why did people come to listen? Well, there were lots of reasons. Here are a few: He was a good speaker He told good stories, or parables He spoke with authority, like he knew what he was talking about He gave new meaning to the Scriptures His message was powerful and had the ring of truth, because he lived the ideas he taught, he practiced what he preached People felt uplifted, valued, and loved by Jesus People were curious People told others about Jesus and invited them to come see for themselves People were healed and others came hoping they would be healedThey often liked what they heard and came to hear him again and brought their friends One of the most important aspects to Jesus being not just a good preacher, but the best ever was because he was the Messiah, the Son of God. And he knew it. Peter and Paul were also so completely aware that Jesus was the Messiah that it gave a spiritual power to their preaching. When you go to church this Sunday, pretend that Jesus is your preacher. How would you listen? Now, listen to your pastor the same way you would listen to Jesus.Let me know how it goes.To see the Bible quotes in this episode and a full transcript, go to thebiblespeakstoyou.com/203.Thanks for listening!Support the show_________________________James Early, the Jesus Mindset Coach, is a Bible teacher, speaker, and podcaster. Jesus preached about His kingdom by CityLight Church
Each of us probably has something slightly different come to mind when we hear the word gospel. What was the gospel according to Jesus? And what did He mean by the Kingdom of God? Ryan continues our series in Mark with an in-depth look at Jesus' words as He began His ministry.
Why is the true gospel of Jesus Christ neglected in professing Christianity? Why do we hear instead a different gospel from that taught by Jesus, His apostles, and first century Christianity? Why is the message Jesus proclaimed for three-and-one-half years ignored and forgotten? The answer to these questions is simple. A substitute gospel entered the professing Christian world shortly after the early church began and the true message of Jesus Christ has been supplanted ever since. But how can that be? Surely the messages heard throughout the land on Sunday mornings must be the same as Jesus proclaimed. Sadly, it is not! Many of you viewing this telecast read your Bible. You know what that message is that Jesus proclaimed… or do you? Is it possible even you have been deceived! I give you this challenge today. Look into what the Bible says and compare it with the message you think Jesus preached during His ministry. I can almost guarantee that the true gospel of Jesus Christ has not been preached in the denomination you grew up in. Does that sound too brash, too arrogant to say? Is it too politically incorrect to tell you the truth? As we often repeat on this program, don't believe us because we say it. And don't believe your minister or priest just because he says it. Prove it for yourself, right out of the pages of your Bible. So if you want to hear what the true gospel is, stay with me. I'll be back in five seconds.
In the message today, we make a side by side comparison between the gospel that Jesus and the Apostles preached, and gospel that is preached in our day. Is there a difference, and if so, what it is? Are there false gospels proclaimed in our day, and if so, what are the talking points of the so-called modern gospel? Come with the Grace United crew, as we seek to understand the gospel that Jesus preached.
When Jesus preached the gospel, what was it that he told people to believe? Was it a prediction of his own death and resurrection, or something else? John the Baptist preached the gospel and part of his proclamation included "hell fire". Jesus also preached that people needed to repent of their sin. Belief in the gospel was not enough according to Jesus. So, what was the gospel that Jesus preached? And how does that compare to what the modern church labels as the gospel? Come with the Grace United crew as we examine and appreciate the gospel Jesus preached.

In this message, we explore the enigmatic passage in the New Testament that describes Jesus preaching to the spirits in prison. Who are these spirits? And how did Jesus preach to them? We delve into the meaning and context of this passage and discuss its implications for modern-day believers. It's a fascinating topic that highlights the significance of Christ's resurrection power in accomplishing this feat. Join us as we uncover the mystery of this intriguing passage and discover its relevance to our lives today.
What is this "Good News" that we hear Jesus talked about so much? Julia continues our series on Kingdom Come, starting by looking at Matthew 4 : 17 - 25.
255. How Jesus Preached The Gospel - Discipleship Class Part 1 by David Grams
November 20, 2022 SS, Various. There are many great lessons we can glean from Christ's witness to the Lost. As you read through these passages, it may be helpful to write down observations you see in the text. What wording does Jesus use? What is the right response that Jesus call for from them? How does Jesus speak to them personally? How does Jesus preach differently to an individual versus a large crowd? Answering these kinds of questions from the text can undoubtedly help us in our evangelism.

When I was two years old, my parents were divorced and I was reared by my grandparents who faithfully sent me to church. At twelve years of age, I accepted Christ as my Savior; however, it was not until I was sixteen that I became serious about serving the Lord. While I was attending a funeral, God called me to preach—a decision I made public in the next church service. I began to study my Bible and to listen to Oliver B. Green, Harold Sightler, Dr. M. R. DeHaan and other great preachers on the radio. I also began to read books by Dr. John R. Rice, R. A. Torrey and other great preachers. The Lord revolutionized my life! At age seventeen I joined the United States Marine Corps as an opportunity to serve my country and be a witness to my fellow Marines. I married Linda Burrell in 1969 and we set out to serve the Lord together. In 1970 we moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, to attend Tennessee Temple University. Before I took my first class, God used a small article in the Baptist Bible Trumpet, published by Dr. John Waters, to burden my heart about reaching Muslims in the Sahara. The article was written by Dr. Dan Truax, who became my Director for many years. I graduated from Tennessee Temple with a Bachelor's degree in Missions. In December 1973 we joined Baptist International Missions, Inc. (BIMI). After a year of deputation, we arrived in Albertville, France, to study the French language. We spent a year and a half in France and then took a ship down to the country of Senegal, where we worked until 1990. God blessed our years there. Two of our five children were born in Senegal. While there we learned the Wolof language and had the privilege of seeing Muslims come to know Christ. At the request of BIMI, we moved to the country of Zaire in 1991 to reopen the work of missionary Anton Andersen. Just two weeks after our arrival in the village of Tshene, serious fighting broke out in the country. The next eighteen months were filled with many dangers, culminating in our family being airlifted from the country in 1993. During the time we spent in Zaire, we learned another language (Kikongo), saw many people saved, and worked with the many believers who were there. When we arrived back in America, we were going to take a year's medical leave; however, God had other plans for us. Our home church, Grace Baptist Church of Landrum, South Carolina, called me to be their pastor. At the same time, Ambassador Baptist College was in need of an experienced missionary to add to their teaching faculty. For the next nine years I pastored a growing church, taught at Ambassador two days a week, and served on the Executive Board or as an officer of the South Carolina Association of Christian Schools. In August 2001 Dr. Les Frazier asked if I would pray about becoming Far East Director with BIMI. After seven months of prayer and much heart searching, I accepted this position. I resigned as pastor of my church and as instructor at Ambassador in May 2002. For ten years I served as Far East Director. In the summer of 2011, I was asked to serve as Vice President and Executive Director at BIMI. I took that position in January 2012. My tasks are many. We spend time out on the mission fields assisting our missionaries. I do the “Moments for Missions” radio broadcasts. Most weeks I preach in a missions conference or on a college campus. There are also many projects on which I work for Dr. David Snyder at the World Missions Center. We count it a blessing and a privilege to serve a wonderful group of missionaries and the churches which send them out. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thebiblepreacher/message
In Ephesians 2, we come now to a section in which the Apostle Paul deals with Christ's role as the great peacemaker among men. We find out that Jesus is our peace (v14), Jesus made peace (v15), and Jesus preached peace (v17).

This week, we share a “Space for God: BIBLE” reflection from Rev. Dr. Kendrick Curry, Co-chair of the Coracle Board and pastor at Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. Kendrick shares the story of Jesus' first public sermon from Luke 4:16-22. In it, Jesus makes a striking declaration about the Good News (or Gospel) of the Kingdom of God, which is as challenging for many of us to fully embrace now as it was for Jesus' original audience.Join us for "Space for God" every Tuesday Morning from 8:30-9 AM (ET)inthecoracle.org | @inthecoracleSupport the show

Jesus went around proclaiming the "gospel of the kingdom." As Jesus followers who are called to "share the gospel," sharing the gospel of the kingdom that Jesus shared seems pretty important. In this episode, Anthony and Matt discuss the Kingdom of God--what it is, what it means, and why it's important. Also, the Green Bay Packers and pregnancy stories have their own segments.

Alex and Alex talk about the gospel of the kingdom of heaven, and how that's a little different, but deeply connected to the gospel of salvation. Jesus said "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." So much discipleship in following Jesus happens along the way. It's often not any particular sermon, event, conference or study that transforms us, but is the conversations we have surrounding those things along the way. Discipleship happens on the journey, not at any particular destination. This podcast is a place where we can have deeper conversations about scripture, theology, philosophy and be formed along the way. Dr. B. R. Lakin was born January 5th 1901, on a farm near Fort Gay, West Virginia, on the Kentucky border. His mother had prayed for a "preacher man" and had dedicated him to God even before he was born. Dr. Lakin was a Bible preacher that was faithful to the Lord in his life and in his preaching till he died March 15, 1984. By his own testimony, he now is experiencing Heaven first hand. Dr. Lakin's preaching has been described as "a combination of wit, Bible teaching, and a strong Gospel appeal. For instance, his advice about dealing with enemies was "Love them, pray for them, and outlive them." I pray that you are on your way to heaven, and if not, that this message will bring you to Jesus as your Saviour! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thebiblepreacher/message
