A strange Bible passages found in 1 Peter 3 says that between Christ's death and resurrection, the Lord preached to spirits imprisoned during the days of Noah: “He also went and made proclamation to the spirits in prison, 20 who once were disobedient when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark,…” (1 Peter 3:19-20)
One of the singular notable qualities of Jesus Christ was His ability to know what was most important at any given moment. He always seemed to move His life carefully around a fixed set of spiritual priorities. Today we compare what others wanted with what Jesus knew they needed.I. They Pursued Wonder; Jesus Preached the Word (vv. 1-2)II. They Felt Suffering; Jesus Forgave Sin (vv. 3-5)III. They Displayed Pessimism; Jesus Demonstrated Power (vv. 6-12)Learn Your Bible: Meditate on Matthew 6:25-34 and ask the Lord for wisdom in reordering the priorities of your daily life.Love Your Neighbor: Take time to be the friend who brings those you care about to Jesus this week—through prayer, presence, or by pointing them back to His calling for their lives.Live in Freedom: Where have you been prioritizing what feels urgent over what Jesus showed us is most important, and what would it look like to surrender that concern to Him?
Once you know Jesus (or are known of Him), you will finally have love, joy, peace! There is no other place you'd rather be than in His arms of love!

Verse by verse study through the book of Acts Chapter Eight and Verse Thirty Five
If Jesus preached some of His sermons today, we'd cancel Him. Think about that!He told a man to let the dead bury their own dead.He called religious leaders whitewashed tombs. He said you must hate your father and mother. And in one particular moment… He calls a desperate woman a dog. That doesn't sound very “He Gets Us,” does it?The problem is: We've created a version of Jesus who's endlessly affirming, never confrontational, and never uncomfortable. And when the real Jesus shows up in the Bible, we flinch. The issue isn't that Jesus is unloving. The issue is we don't understand love. And Matthew 15 is about to expose all of that.So let's get into it!
Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

An episode from Lukfata Baptist Church, a conservative, independent body of King James Bible believers located in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. The mission of Lukfata Baptist Church is to be obedient to the words of Christ who is the head of the church and commands us to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:19, 20) Lukfata Baptist Church (LBC) believes in sending the message of the gospel into all the world (Mk. 16:15). Episode 2.23What did Jesus talk about more than anything else? The Kingdom of God.In this deep-dive episode, we unpack the most central theme of Jesus' ministry: the Kingdom—not as a political empire or future fantasy, but as the present and coming reign of God. From its “already / not yet” tension to its ethical demands, spiritual entry requirements, and eternal destiny, this episode traces the Kingdom through Scripture and theology with clarity and conviction. We explore insights from George Eldon Ladd's Kingdom framework, clarify common misconceptions, and ground our discussion in the words of Jesus, the apostles, and the prophets. Whether you're new to Kingdom theology or just need a clearer picture, this is your all-in-one primer.Topics include:– What is the Kingdom of God?– Is it here now, or still future?– Who belongs to it, and how do you enter?– How does it shape Christian mission, ethics, and hope?Find our videocast here: https://youtu.be/3zjpeGCiwNoMerch here: https://take-2-podcast.printify.me/Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!):https://uppbeat.io/t/reakt-music/deep-stoneLicense code: 2QZOZ2YHZ5UTE7C8Find more Take 2 Theology content at http://www.take2theology.com

It is often erroneously claimed that the early Church preached the doctrine of the Trinity from its inception. The Book of Acts is evidence to the contrary. This week's episode examines the sermons in the Book of Acts to see how Luke portrayed christology and Jesus' relationship to God. Spoiler alert: There is no Trinity in the Book of Acts. The good news of Jesus is an immediate opportunity, a here and now real-world invitation into God's reign and rule, into God's political economy, where people and possessions and politics are now organized in the love and justice of God. Change your hearts and lives today. Cease evil behavior. Knock it off. Do not begrudge God's mercy and compassion. Let's trust in God's way of being human together.

Sermon preached by Father Matt Tebbe at The Table worship gathering on Sunday, January 21st, 2024. Epiphany 3.
203 – What if Jesus was the preacher at your church? How would things be different? Would you listen more carefully to what was said? Would you be more inspired? Would you be afraid he might read your mind and see the things you don't want anyone to know about? How would it change you? Would you invite your friends to come the next week?I've been thinking about this lately. And that's what this episode is all about. What made Jesus a good preacher? Why did people come to listen? Well, there were lots of reasons. Here are a few: He was a good speaker He told good stories, or parables He spoke with authority, like he knew what he was talking about He gave new meaning to the Scriptures His message was powerful and had the ring of truth, because he lived the ideas he taught, he practiced what he preached People felt uplifted, valued, and loved by Jesus People were curious People told others about Jesus and invited them to come see for themselves People were healed and others came hoping they would be healedThey often liked what they heard and came to hear him again and brought their friends One of the most important aspects to Jesus being not just a good preacher, but the best ever was because he was the Messiah, the Son of God. And he knew it. Peter and Paul were also so completely aware that Jesus was the Messiah that it gave a spiritual power to their preaching. When you go to church this Sunday, pretend that Jesus is your preacher. How would you listen? Now, listen to your pastor the same way you would listen to Jesus.Let me know how it goes.To see the Bible quotes in this episode and a full transcript, go to thebiblespeakstoyou.com/203.Thanks for listening!Support the show_________________________James Early, the Jesus Mindset Coach, is a Bible teacher, speaker, and podcaster. Each of us probably has something slightly different come to mind when we hear the word gospel. What was the gospel according to Jesus? And what did He mean by the Kingdom of God? Ryan continues our series in Mark with an in-depth look at Jesus' words as He began His ministry.
Why is the true gospel of Jesus Christ neglected in professing Christianity? Why do we hear instead a different gospel from that taught by Jesus, His apostles, and first century Christianity? Why is the message Jesus proclaimed for three-and-one-half years ignored and forgotten? The answer to these questions is simple. A substitute gospel entered the professing Christian world shortly after the early church began and the true message of Jesus Christ has been supplanted ever since. But how can that be? Surely the messages heard throughout the land on Sunday mornings must be the same as Jesus proclaimed. Sadly, it is not! Many of you viewing this telecast read your Bible. You know what that message is that Jesus proclaimed… or do you? Is it possible even you have been deceived! I give you this challenge today. Look into what the Bible says and compare it with the message you think Jesus preached during His ministry. I can almost guarantee that the true gospel of Jesus Christ has not been preached in the denomination you grew up in. Does that sound too brash, too arrogant to say? Is it too politically incorrect to tell you the truth? As we often repeat on this program, don't believe us because we say it. And don't believe your minister or priest just because he says it. Prove it for yourself, right out of the pages of your Bible. So if you want to hear what the true gospel is, stay with me. I'll be back in five seconds.
