We're in a moment where I believe that leaders could use some wisdom on how to walk through something. It seems that there's a new report or event surrounding a leader falling or making a mistake at a pretty consistent rate now. So I wanted to turn to the person who has helped me walk through so many challenging moments and tough conversations in my life. I asked my pastor, Kevin Gerald, to talk about how we are to respond when leaders fall, what our mentality should be, and what we can anchor to in these times.
Today's conversation is bold and challenging. This is a topic that must be addressed by Kingdom leaders. There is a difference in the world's approach and the church's approach to the topic of skin color and ethnicity. There is truth and wisdom when we take a Biblical view on this subject. Join Pastor Kevin as he sits down with Pastor Lonnie Keene to discuss Kingdom + Race on this month's podcast episode.
Courage is not optional. Our culture is suffering from truth deprivation and a growing deception that is so far from the word of God. As leaders, we have a responsibility to speak Biblical truths. There is a real need for leaders of courage to rise in our world today and courage is the way we show our loyalty to the Kingdom of God.We sat down with Kevin Gerald to talk more about the God-given authority to pastors and leaders in the church to speak up and what leading with courage practically looks like.
Have you ever felt weary or defeated as a leader? We sat down with Stephen Chandler and Kevin Gerald to talk about some of the ins and outs of leading during this past and present season. As we close this year and head into the next, this conversation will help you see opportunity in every season, lead with conviction and courage, and speak faith for the future. The best days for the church are ahead.
Today on the Miracle Channel Podcast, Kevin Gerald will teach on how to believe for God's unbelievable favor in a new and recharged way. Here at Team Church we love and value the church. The church is God's plan A. There is no plan B. But one area that we need to do some work is creating a bridge between theology and building the local church. Listen in on this talk with Nathan Finochio and Kevin Gerald as they discuss why speaking truth and theology matters for leaders.
No one wants to feel stuck—stuck in the past, or stuck in the current. One of the constant themes of scripture is the theme of moving forward. So as leaders we have to remember that God’s not lingering in yesterday, but he wants to help us move forward into tomorrow. In this episode we will discuss five very practical questions you can ask yourself in order to assess your current position as a leader. “To look forward, you have to first face forward.” —Kevin Gerald
Honor is essential to any group that wants to make progress. It's not optional. Everything is better with honor. But our culture today has seen a drift and decay on the subject of honoring authority. We had a chance to bring some young leaders on the podcast to talk with Pastor Kevin about the subject of honoring authority. Here are some of the questions they asked: What is a mistake a leader may make to unintentionally or indirectly dishonor authority? How can we help leaders differentiate between the voices of this world to find the right one so that they can ultimately submit under authority? How would you handle a team members who have come from bad authority backgrounds? Can you speak into the importance of being depended on (by their leader) and following through and also how you teach young leaders about being dependable and responsible without crushing their free spiritedness and creativity?
Tired. Is that the answer you hear when asking how someone is doing? Is that the answer you find yourself giving? This week we have Pastor Kevin Gerald from Champions Centre in Tacoma, Washington back in our virtual online studio. He's talking with Pastor Kelly in a very open and authentic conversation about how to combat that sense of tiredness in your staff and leadership team, as well as how to handle thoughts of discouragement and doubt in this season. And, as if that’s not enough, they delve into the importance of staying Kingdom focused in today’s world. You are not going to want to miss this week’s episode that’s chalk full of amazing content!
We are back for part two of my conversation with my Pastor, Kevin Gerald! Honestly, we were just getting started with what we released last week. We just let the tape keep running and ended up having to split it into two episodes, and part two is even better than part one. Before we dive back into this conversation, I talk for a few minutes on the thought that connection is the new excellence. In a time that it is so easy to let people on our teams slip through the cracks, it is even more critical than ever that we are checking in and really caring for and connecting with those on our teams and in our churches. You never know the impact that a simple text or phone call can have on somebody. Our big question for this conversation is still: How can I build trust with my Pastor? Well, we jump right back into this conversation where we left off, and we start it with a bang! We talk about the lost art of honor and making serving a part of who you are. Hopefully, that leaves you with a desire to buck the trends of not trusting leadership and encourages you to always be serving. We close this conversation by talking about what Pastors look for before empowering others and giving ownership. Empowerment is the end goal for most people, and trust is the currency to get there. I pray this conversation leaves you refreshed and with a new drive to build trust with your leaders. Brandon After the episode: How can you start and/or continue to build trust with your Pastor this week? Matthew 13:44 is the parable of the hidden treasure. What fields can you mine for treasure in? Experience is one of the greatest educations we will ever have. But we don’t have to rely on only our own experiences, we can learn from each other as well for even greater growth. This week we have Pastor Kevin Gerald, a senior pastor of over 35 years, from Champions Centre in Tacoma, Washington joining us. Pastor Kelly and Pastor Kevin cover 4 questions pretty much every pastor has asked following the aftermath of 2020. They cover strengths and weaknesses of the church, online church and strategies moving forward!
It’s always so exciting when I get to have my Pastor, Kevin Gerald, on the podcast. Not only because he was the first person to get behind me and help support and champion this thing along, but because I attribute so much of who I am and what I know to him. That is why we have him join us in this space once a season, so hopefully, you can glean some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in life and leadership. We went way over on our time, but it was so good that we’ve split this conversation into two episodes, but we’ll have part two for you next Thursday! We had another excellent question come in from one of the people in our tribe. David says that he recently stepped into a new role leading a team and wants to know what steps he can take to cast vision? As we’ve been doing every week this season, we’re going to tackle one big question. In my eyes, one of my most significant accomplishments in ministry is the relationship that I have with my Pastor. It’s something that has taken work and time to develop. Trust seems to be the currency that leads to so many greater things. So our question this week (and next week) is: How can I build trust with my Pastor? We spend a little time breaking down a huge barrier that I know some second-chair leaders face when being honest with their leaders. We get a peek into the head of a lead pastor of 30 years on what he thinks when his team comes to him and are honest about themselves if they’ve dropped the ball in some area. His answer to this might be the opposite of what you would think instinctually. Here are some of the questions that we cover here in part one. What are some of the things that leaders on our team have done that have created a healthy relationship with you? What are some things that have broken or deteriorated your trust? How have you seen that trust is built in your space? How important is communication to you? We close part one of this conversation, talking about the importance of getting communication right with your Pastor. It’s on you to chase them and find ways to get in those circles. It’s also up to you that you show up prepared for those moments. I hope this gives you some freedom from any entitlement that so many face today, expecting their leaders to chase them down. We are just getting started and you are not going to want to miss part two of this conversation next week! Brandon After the episode: How can you start and/or continue to build trust with your Pastor this week? Position yourself this week to be a student and novice of your Pastor.
Applying Bible boundaries and putting Christ (Him) in the middle, we learn to identify undercurrents of relationships and how to navigate them. In part 4 of the series Him, Me, You, Us, Them, Pastors Sheila and Kevin Gerald help us discover that God's boundaries are there to give us the wisdom we need to help build good, healthy relationships.
Today we're going to continue part two of a conversation with Monique Duson and Kevin Gerald on Biblical Unity, Critical Race Theory, and the local church. The second continuation of this podcast will be practical in nature and give some handles to use when talking about race and justice within the church.
Today we're going to engage in a conversation on Biblical Unity, Critical Race Theory, and the local church. In this conversation, Kevin Gerald interviews Monique Duson from the Center for Biblical Unity, as she brings a powerful and historical Christian view on issues of race and unity. We felt this talk was crucial to have in a season that has seen our world and the local church so polarized by issues of race. Our prayer is to have a conversation that helps us lead with unity at the forefront. The Center for Biblical Unity is an organization which aims to lead respectful and Bible-centered conversations on race and unity. For more information on their organization and resources available, you can find them at https://www.centerforbiblicalunity.com/ As always, it is our goal to help start a discussion with you and your team. Please join us again next month as we continue this conversation!
A king expands his kingdom and always brings a culture with him for that kingdom. In part 4 of the Kingdom Come series by Kevin Gerald, he defines what a culture is and how we can champion the culture of the kingdom here on earth.
Jesus came to earth with one message—the message of the Kingdom. We're currently living in a time of social, racial, and political divide. People feel they must choose sides and fight for those sides. As leaders and Christ-followers, we must always choose the Jesus way. When everyone is fighting for social justice, we must keep fighting for Biblical justice. In this timely Podcast episode, Kevin Gerald, Brandon Stewart, and Joshua Bingle continue the conversation on Kingdom Culture. Let's keep having these conversations to strengthen our teams and lead the Jesus way!

Life is not going to return to the way it was before Coronavirus hit, but there is an opportunity in all of this. As leaders we need to start asking ourselves, "how do we start looking into the future instead of reverting back to the past?" In this Podcast episode, Kevin Gerald shares how this is our time to be innovative as we step into the new life in front of us.
In this month’s Team Church Podcast, we're continuing with Part 3 of the Naked and Unafraid message for leaders. The focus for this episode is on criticism versus critique. We will begin by talking about how powerful criticism can be and the importance of not avoiding it. We'll break down the differences between the two, and show you how to overcome critics while welcoming critique. We'll even talk about David’s secret sauce to overcoming this battle. By the end of this talk you'll learn to recognize the difference between the two, and if you grab a hold of this, it will have a huge impact on your life and how you live it.
In this episode, Pastor Kelly interviews Pastor Kevin Gerald from Champions Centre in Tacoma, Washington. They discuss the importance of being vulnerable and how it can affect those you are trying to reach.
