Everybody drop your Buffs®, it's time to earn the merge! Only this time... it's harder than ever. Jeff, Jay, and Charlie dive into the new twist that left only one player safe. Jeff explains the producer's mentality behind the shift between the group and individual stages of the game. Plus the chaos of when all the crews hit the same beach and suddenly there are 13 simultaneous stories to cover. Then, Charlie analyzes how to approach a two-stage challenge when you have nothing left in the tank. And, Jeff and Charlie debate the pros and cons of a large vs. small tribal council - and whether there is truly nowhere to hide on Survivor. Lastly, Jeff reveals how the entire episode was framed from Rome's POV and how starting on the beach and ending in the edit bays, the team was able to bring you inside his mind as he went to what he referred to as a "Michael Jordan vs. Kirk Hinrich" tribal. On this classic episode of Over and Back, Jason and Rich examine NBA players who by age 25 appeared on the trajectory for all-time greatness but for one reason or another fell off track.Players discussed include early NBA star Ed Macauley, territorial pick in the last BAA draft before the BAA and the NBL merged to form the NBA. Jason and Rich discuss Macauley's early career, the trade he's most famous for and what he did in his post-playing career. Dwight Howard: one of the NBA's shining stars in his early years that has fallen out of favor recently, Jason and Rich look at his injury history as well as his attitude and whether or not he will be considered an all-time great when he finally hangs it up.Tracy McGrady: T-Mac put together one of the NBA's greatest seasons in 2003 but just a few years later was unable to get on the court. McGrady was a star that shined bright but ultimately left many underwhelmed.Elton Brand: Mr. Reliable put together an impressive resume in his early 20s but never reached the next level.Gilbert Arenas: One of the NBA's best stories turned into one of its worse as Arenas rose up from anonymity to become a star on the Washington Wizards, ultimately though, his career will be remembered for one unfortunate incident.Luol Deng: The do-everything, jack of all trades for the mid 2000 Chicago Bulls, Deng teamed with fellow youngsters Kirk Hinrich and Ben Gordon to led the Bulls back to the playoffs. In addition to examinations into each of the players above, Jason and Rich also delve into players who accumulate a high percentage of stats in their first five years of the league.

So what does it all come back to for Nick Collison? Consistency. Whether he was consistently great during his time at Kansas, or a consistent leader for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Collison brought the same passion, energy and work ethic every day. A standout from the beginning, Collison averaged double figures in all four seasons in Lawrence. He was the 2003 Big 12 Player of the Year, and closed his career as the conference's all-time leading scorer. But he's best remembered by Kansas fans as the guy who—along with Kirk Hinrich—led the Jayhawks to Final Four appearances in 2002 and 2003. How'd he have so much success at the college level? And how did a guy who averaged 6 points and 5 rebounds have a 14-year NBA career? IOWA CITY, Iowa – The door was left open a crack during the late 1990s. Iowa State was looking to slip through it. The Hawkeyes’ future was unknown at the time. Dr. Tom Davis’ contract had not renewed and a new coach had not been hired. Cyclone coach Larry Eustachy used the opportunity to court Mason City point guard Jeff Horner, despite him growing up an avid Iowa fan. The basketball phenom really liked what he saw and heard on an unofficial visit to Ames. What would have become a nightmare for Iowa having already lost in-state stars Kirk Hinrich and Nick Collison to Kansas turned fond memories. Steve Alford replaced Davis and corralled Horner shortly after his arrival in Iowa City. Horner went on to lead the Hawkeyes to two NCAA Tournaments and a Big Ten Tournament title. He’s their all-time assists leader (612) and is second in three-pointers made (262). We caught up with Horner recently for the Hawkeye History podcast, on which he told stories about being recruited by ISU, playing for Alford, living through the Pierre Pierce arrests, studying Pornography at Iowa (what?) and much more.
