Reach out to Cody and Buhler to tell them what's up!You can only blame yourself for the decisions you make.Former Ohio State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles went into great detail on record to ESPN's Heather Dinich on why he left Columbus for Penn State.John Buhler (Lead Writer, FanSided.com) and Cody Williams (Content Director, FanSided.com) were dumbfounded by the candid nature of that story.Sherrone Moore getting to handpick what two games he will be suspended for is just par for the course for the wacky, weird and wonderful ways of being a Michigan man. Also, why is UCF making that big of a comment to Scott Frost the second time around? This episode of False Start came a day after Cody exited his Jesus year and entered his David Ortiz year.Naturally, the guys had to celebrate with some JLN on the greatest coming-of-age story of their lifetimes. It pays to be Superbad when you live your life one False Start at a time!

Send us a textTune into the first interview Kerry Brett gives on Cosmic Scene with Jill Jardine to discuss the launch of her new book Shot At Love, A Celebrity Photographer's Lens on Dating and Finding Love. The latest best-selling release is a raw, hilarious, and deeply insightful story of the host of Shot At Love; Kerry Brett's journey from heartbreak to happiness will have you laughing, nodding in recognition, and rethinking your approach to finding love. When Kerry Brett found herself at what she calls "the basement of rock bottom" after a painful breakup, she turned to an unexpected source of hope: Tinder. But unlike many who approach dating apps with dread, this award-winning Boston photographer embraced the platform as a creative opportunity. With the same keen eye she used to capture celebrities like David Ortiz and Amy Poehler, Kerry developed a method for identifying potential matches, creating authentic connections, and ultimately finding love.Kerry's story is compelling because of her unique blend of self-deprecating humor, spirituality, and practical wisdom. Each chapter of her newly released book "Shot At Love" begins with a Sanskrit mantra, connecting ancient wisdom to modern dating challenges. From the "German Leo" to the "Irish Leprechaun" and finally to her successful Tinder match, Kerry's dating adventures read like a Boston version of Sex and the City – minus the sex, as she quips, because "she's Irish Catholic, 51, and her parents listen to her show."The most powerful takeaway from our conversation is Kerry's insight that the stories we tell ourselves often become our biggest obstacles. Whether it's believing you're "damaged goods" because of past relationships or thinking no one wants to date a single parent, these internal narratives limit possibilities. As Kerry emphasizes, "Beauty is an inside job" – how you feel about yourself ultimately determines how others perceive and treat you.Kerry's journey offers hope and a roadmap for anyone navigating the complex world of modern dating. Her transformation from celebrated photographer to award-winning podcast host and author demonstrates how following your authentic path can lead to unexpected opportunities and, yes, even love.Take your best shot at love by checking out Kerry's new book "Shot At Love" on Amazon or at shotatloveook.com, and tune into her podcast for daily doses of dating wisdom and inspiration. Send us a textGet Shot At Love Book, by Kerry Brett at www.shotatlovebook.com and on Amazon and join the singles movement! When celebrity photographer Kerry Brett found herself at rock bottom after a devastating breakup, she never imagined her journey back would lead her to become a dating expert, award-winning podcaster, and author. But that's exactly what happened – and she's sharing every hilarious, heartbreaking, and enlightening step in her captivating new memoir.Kerry's story begins in the magazine world, where she captured iconic portraits of figures like David Ortiz and Steve Carell over her 28-year career. But behind the camera, she was struggling to rebuild her life as a single mother navigating the then-new world of dating apps. Rather than seeing Tinder as intimidating, Kerry approached it with the same creative eye she brought to photography, treating her profile as a personal brand and discovering that authentic presentation was the key to meaningful connections. What makes Kerry's journey uniquely powerful is how she blended modern dating technology with ancient spiritual practices. Each dating adventure – from "The German Leo" to "The Irish Leprechaun" – is paired with Sanskrit mantras that guided her path, reflecting wisdom gained from spiritual teachers like Namadeva Acharya, Thomas Ashley-Farrand. These Sanskrit mantras became anchors during uncertain times, helping Kerry maintain perspective when relationships didn't work out, teaching her that "rejection is protection."The raw vulnerability in Kerry's storytelling creates an immediate connection with readers. Her willingness to share both triumphs and embarrassing moments – or epic moves like using a photograph with the real Peter Brady on her Tinder profile – makes her journey relatable to anyone who's ever felt lost in the dating world. Through her experiences, she proves that finding love isn't about perfection but authenticity: "You don't need to become perfect to find love – you're just okay the way you are."Whether you're recovering from heartbreak, navigating dating apps for the first time, or simply enjoying a good love story, Kerry's journey from behind the camera to finding her own shot at love will inspire you to believe in new beginnings. Are you ready to transform your approach to dating and relationships? Pick up "Shot at Love" and discover why this celebrity photographer's unfiltered lens on love is changing how we view modern romance.About the Guest: Kerry Brett is a Professional Photographer of America Master Photographer with 28 years of experience running her successful studio in Hingham, MA. Hour 1 The Yankees are on the brink of elimination as they are now down 3-0. Giancarlo Stanton was thrown out at the plate and Boomer didn't think they should send him since he can't run. Gio likes that they sent him as they weren't getting many hits and it took a perfect throw to get him. The Dodgers are getting great starting pitching, the Yankees are not. The Yankees are striking out a ton. This is a do or die game tonight and Gerrit Cole is not pitching, Luis Gil is. Gio said the Yankees can't beat a great team like the Dodgers with Aaron Judge being a zero. There was also a very odd Fat Joe performance before the game. It just didn't end. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the sounds of John Sterling calling the first inning HR by Freddie Freeman. We also heard Sterling on the call as Stanton was thrown out at the plate. The Giants also played last night and lost in Pittsburgh. Brian Daboll was intense last night in trying to bring the energy to a flatliner (Daniel Jones). In the final segment of the hour, we took calls from concerned Yankees fans. Boomer said pitchers must be intimidated by the size of Ohtani. Hour 2 Boomer wonders why Garrett Wilson always goes down when he makes a catch. How is it that the Jets are favored Thursday night against the Texans, who are 6-2. Jets are favored by 1.5 which seems crazy. The Giants lost again last night and they are now 2-6. They still make a lot of conservative play calls for a team that has nothing to lose at this point. Who is going to be the Giants quarterback next year and how are they getting that guy? Why are they more competitive on the road, but can't do anything at home? Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Yankees losing to the Dodgers. Giancarlo Stanton talked about getting thrown out at the plate. Gio said Ken Rosenthal is starting to look like Bruce Springsteen if he was shrunk in the dryer. The Giants tried a 2-point conversion and it was embarrassing. Daboll talked about the TJ Watt strip sack of Jones. Bill Belichick took more shots at the Jets with McAfee yesterday. Jerry has audio of the Knicks postgame after their loss to the Cavaliers. In the final segment of the hour, the Mets were at least competitive against the Dodgers. The Dodgers offense is relentless throughout the entire lineup. Boomer thought the Yankees would be putting up more runs but they are striking out a ton. Hour 3 Fans going to the game tonight probably bought tickets for ridiculous prices and you may have paid to watch your team get eliminated. Boomer is feeling bombarded by political ads and was appreciating all the joy the Yankees brought us to get us away from politics. Game 1 was a great game but these last two games have felt like Godfather 3 according to Gio. It's a flat World Series unless you're a Dodgers fan. Gio now thinks they're getting swept. The Yankees are favored again tonight as they were last night. Boomer keeps saying it's not over yet. Boomer said if they get swept, somebody is losing their job (Boone or Cashman it sounds like). Jerry returns for an update and starts with Suzyn Waldman talking about Fat Joe. David Ortiz said it felt like a funeral even as they were introducing Fat Joe. Gio called the series, ‘a fart in the wind so far'. The Giants lost again, this time in Pittsburgh. Trevon Diggs was on a podcast with Micah Parsons explaining why he dropped a ‘deez nuts' on a reporter. In the final segment of the hour, some media notes include James Brown missing Boomer and Phil and Craig Carton at the Yankees game. Hour 4 We started the hour with some Yankees calls and one who thinks the Yankees are taking the next four. We also somehow started talking about Marc Malusis and how he's doing social media videos on the Yankees. That brought us to playing some of the uncomfortable calls to Marc over the years. Jerry is here for his final update of the day and he starts with the voice of John Sterling as Freddie F ...

Democrats have historically relied on the Latino vote, but recent elections have called that loyalty into question. In fact, despite his vociferous anti-immigrant rhetoric and controversial border policies, Trump won a higher percentage of the Latino vote in 2020 than he did in 2016. Now, journalist Paola Ramos pulls back the curtain on these voters, traveling around the country to uncover what motivates them to vote for and support issues that many liberals believe are at odds with their self-interest. From underdog GOP candidates, January 6th insurrectionists, evangelical pastors and culture war crusaders, Ramos met people aiming to influence this rightward shift. Ramos explores how tribalism, traditionalism, and political trauma within the Latino community has been weaponized to radicalize and convert voters who, like many of their white counterparts, are fearful of losing their place in American society. She met Monica de la Cruz, a Republican congresswoman from the Rio Grande Valley who won on a platform centered on finishing “what Donald Trump started” and pushing the Great Replacement Theory; David Ortiz, a Mexican man who refers to himself as a Spaniard and opposed the removal of a statue of a Spanish conquistador in New Mexico; Luis Cabrera, an evangelical pastor pushing to “Make America Godly Again;” Anthony Aguero, an independent journalist turned border vigilante; and countless other individuals and communities that make up the rising conservative Latino population. Join us in-person or online to hear from an award-winning journalist who will share her deeply reported exploration of how one of America's most powerful and misunderstood electorates may come to define the future of American politics. In the final segment of the hour, a caller said the Mets have only had 1 big inning so far in this series with the Dodgers.
Hour 1 The Mets had a very disappointing loss last night, losing 8-0. They lost game one, 9-0. Boomer thinks they can come back tonight just like they did after the game one loss. Francisco Alvarez had a rough night in the field and at the plate, but Carlos Mendoza said he is sticking with him. Boomer said there is always tomorrow in baseball. But Gio added, ‘until there isn't'. The Mets have been resilient all year long. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and Gio was concerned when he heard Jerry say in the Warm Up Show that he thought the Dodgers would win in 6. Jerry starts with the sounds of the Mets losing to the Dodgers including the monster Ohtani HR into the upper deck. Carlos Mendoza talked about the fielding miscues in the second inning. Lindor said to stay the course, come back tonight and give everything you have. Daniel Jones talked about the injury to Andrew Thomas. Dexter Lawrence talked about playing against Saquon this weekend. Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers are both happy they have each other again. In the final segment of the hour, Peter Schwartz can't pronounce Sabrina Ionescu's name, but claimed it was the biggest shot in NY basketball history. We also took calls from Mets fans on whether Alvarez should play or not. Hour 2 The Mets need a Winker day today. It's feeling like a Winker day. We need Winker in faces. In the final segment of the hour, a caller said the Mets have only had 1 big inning so far in this series with the Dodgers. Hour 3 Francisco Alvarez is mired in a slump. We need him to break out the way Pete Alonso did against the Braves and Phillies with the home runs. A caller thinks Mendoza is tempting fate with his lack of moves with Alvarez. Boomer thinks Mendoza is doing the right thing, he's being loyal to the guys who got him there. Boomer is not going to question him now against a great team like the Dodgers. Jerry returns for an update and has the sounds of Howie Rose as Max Muncy homered to make it 8-0. Carlos Mendoza talked about the Dodgers hitters not chasing. Jerry has audio of Evan Robers' Rico Brogna Mets podcast. In the final segment of the hour, we've seen the last of Mike Williams on the Jets. First Rodgers threw him under the bus, then the Jets got Davante Adams. Sabrina Ionescu had ‘the biggest shot in Liberty history' last night. Hour 4 Tonight is as much of a must win game without actually being a must win game for the Mets. The Yankees also play tonight and we still expect a sweep. A caller said the fans behind home plate have no energy and it's coming across that way on TV. We took a call from Minnesota about Jeff McNeil and it was a strange one. Boomer talked about the fragility of a locker room. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of Howie Rose as Ohtani hits a 3 run blast into the upper deck. Chris Russo talked about Tony Romo having no sense of history. Brian Daboll talked about the injury to Andrew Thomas. Aaron Rodgers was looking back at some old film on Davante Adams. The Moment of The Day: a nose spray and lozenges for ED. In the final segment of the show, a little bit of Knicks talk with the addition of Karl-Anthony Towns. Right now Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers are living together right now.

Juan David Ortiz, a U.S. Border Patrol supervisor, wore the uniform of a trusted protector. But he lived a double life -- husband, father, war veteran, and respected agent. Yet beneath this facade of normalcy lay a monster. Over the course of twelve days in 2018, Ortiz unleashed his dark urges on the streets of Laredo, Texas, brutally ending the lives of four vulnerable women. What drove a man like Ortiz to commit such heinous acts? I explore that question through the eyes of Lyzza Janette, an unlikely observer who dared to confront the killer face-to-face. As she unraveled the duality of a man who could be both charming and monstrous, she was left both horrified and fascinated. This is a story not just about the crimes committed by a trusted Border Patrol Agent but about the thin line between good and evil. Yankees vs. Red Sox. It's one of the fiercest rivalries in all of sports and includes names like: Derek Jeter, Pedro Martinez, David Ortiz, Bucky Dent, and of course Babe Ruth. But these days Major League Baseball has become so obsessed with data, that it feels like the human element can fall by the wayside. So, ahead of their three game weekend series, culminating with a matchup on Sunday Night Baseball, Jeff Passan joins the show to explain just what this rivalry is like in 2024. And to tell us why things have been uncharacteristically quiet these days in Fenway Park. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
