The BYU Cougars are without a men's basketball coach as Mark Pope is finalizing a five-year contract to replace John Calipari as the University of Kentucky men's basketball coach and Jake Hatch says this is Pope's "dream job" and likely the only one he would have left Brigham Young University (BYU) for as he is a Kentucky Wildcats legend and former national champion for.Jake then talked about the options for BYU men's basketball program as they look to replace Pope with his top candidate pool consisting of California Golden Bears coach Mark Madsen, Utah Runnin' Utes associate head coach Chris Burgess and UNLV Runnin' Rebels assistant coach Barrett Peery and Jake explains why time is of the essence for BYU to make a hire. Finally, the show wrapped up with some thoughts on how the roster being in flux for the BYU basketball program could hurt the momentum Mark Pope built in the Cougars' debut season in the Big 12 Conference and why a prompt hire of his replacement could be the difference between contending in the Big 12 next season or being a cellar-dweller in the league.Join the Locked On Cougars Subtext Community by clicking here! Just days away from this Saturday's return to Madison Square Garden for UFC 295, Matt and Jim get two fighters from the card to hop on the show in women's strawweight Mackenzie Dern and lightweight Jared Gordon. Looking to build momentum off her unanimous decision win over Angela Hill in May, Dern explains why Saturday's fight against Jéssica Andrade is her most important fight yet as Dern discusses the type of pressure that comes with fighting a former champion looking to avoid dropping her fourth straight fight. The guys then shift their eyes to Saturday's stacked UFC 295 card and dole out some of their picks for the two title fights atop the billing. Then, Queens, New York native Jared Gordon joins the show, reflecting on the perseverance it took to battle through life's low points to be where he is today — gearing up to fight Mark Madsen in Madison Square Garden; the legendary stadium where his grandfather boxed as a professional back in the day. Finally, the guys finish the show with the rest of their predictions from the main card and a few other notable fights from the prelims.

Fardaws Aimaq, a towering 6'11" forward hailing from Vancouver, BC, is an NCAA Division 1 basketball player. Initially starting his college career at Mercer University, he later moved on to Utah Valley University where he was named the 2021 WAC Player of the Year. This past season, he transferred to Texas Tech University but was limited to only 11 appearances for the Red Raiders due to a persistent foot injury. However, his spirits remain high as he looks ahead to a fresh start at the University of California, Berkeley (Cal) this coming season, where he will be reunited with former head coach Mark Madsen. Jaden McClanahan is a 5'11'' guard from Vallejo, California. He is currently an NCAA Division 1 basketball player at Utah Valley University, where he and Fardaws were former teammates.
In tonight's show the dads kick off with a little catch up and talk a little face yoga, sibling fighting, and the Kool Aid Man. They also talk about MK's brush up with Shaquille O' Neal and how Ben supposedly ended Mark Madsen's career. Then they'll have their take on parent tweets of the week and move to Smart Articles by SMART PEOPLE the dads will discuss Why Self-reflection is Important, How To Practice Self-Reflection and 20 Self-Reflection Questions from the website Parenting for Brain. They'll take a good old fashioned pub quiz (Do you know how many Infinity Stones there are or what the most stolen food in the world is?) then things that make them smile. Soccer, Cereal Milk and one of the dad's celebrates his daughter getting into UCLA!

Amanda Lemos was a big underdog heading into the UFC Vegas 64 main event with Marina Rodriguez and not many people were picking her to get it done. On Saturday, Lemos silenced the critics and may have earned herself a chance to fight for a UFC world title in her next appearance. MMA Fighting's Mike Heck and Alexander K. Lee react to Lemos' third-round finish of Rodriguez, discuss how much she rose her stock with the performance, and what might need to happen to get to a strawweight championship bout with UFC 281 going down next weekend at Madison Square Garden. Additionally, topics include Neil Magny's late submission win over Daniel Rodriguez, Grant Dawson's outright dominance of Mark Madsen, and other odds and ends from Saturday's event.
