After three back surgeries, ongoing pain, and a diagnosis of degenerative disc disease, Michael reached out to me because he was willing to consider that there might be another explanation for what was happening in his body. That willingness changed everything. Today, I'm breaking down the larger teaching behind his story through the three legs of the stool in my work: believe, do the work, and patience and kindness for yourself. I explain why chronic pain is not “in your head,” but why the solution is not in the body, even when there are findings on an MRI, blood work, gut testing, or a scary diagnosis on paper. In hour three of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, Mike and Stoke take a hard look at the Nuggets roster and some potential additions they could actually make instead of everyone saying they should get Gianis.  Michael Porter Jr had even more to say recently, and it’s starting to get ridiculous. Jared Bednar is busy advocating Cale Makar to win the Norris trophy, but Mike thinks he will receive the Jokic treatment because he has won it too many times.  And to close out the hour, we listen to some humble comments from Rockies Manager Warren Schaefer that Stoke and Mike really like.

For the second hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, The Avalanche got a historic win last night and Mark asks if the NHL would be more popular if things like that happened more often.   ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that David Adelman’s job is safe which upset most Nuggets fans and Mark Schlereth gives his opinions on the matter.  And in What’s Trending, we play some disparaging clips from Paul Pierce on Nikola Jokic, and Michael Porter Jr expressed some regrets from last season with The Nuggets and claims they would have won with him instead of Cam Johnson.   

Melo, Mero, and Kaz kick things off reacting to a funny All the Smoke clip, which leads to Melo sharing a never-heard story about one of his favorite teammates, Andre Miller (2:45). Then the guys debate who the best white NBA player in the league is right now (12:30). Even with Detroit's 3-1 comeback over the Magic, the Pistons still need a real second scoring option, so they get into who should be on their list this summer: Devin Booker, Kawhi Leonard, Michael Porter Jr., or somebody else (33:07).
