Learn how to JournalSpeak ➡️ https://tinyurl.com/2ph33u2s In this solo episode, I'm responding to the flood of questions that came in after a viral Instagram reel shared the story of my work with NBA player Michael Porter Jr. Michael's recovery is extraordinary, but this episode is not just about Michael. It's about the question his story awakens in so many people: How can someone have a very real diagnosis, very real imaging, very real pain, and still recover when they begin to understand the brain, the nervous system, and the mind-body connection? After three back surgeries, ongoing pain, and a diagnosis of degenerative disc disease, Michael reached out to me because he was willing to consider that there might be another explanation for what was happening in his body. That willingness changed everything. Today, I'm breaking down the larger teaching behind his story through the three legs of the stool in my work: believe, do the work, and patience and kindness for yourself. I explain why chronic pain is not “in your head,” but why the solution is not in the body, even when there are findings on an MRI, blood work, gut testing, or a scary diagnosis on paper. I talk about degenerative disc disease, back pain, migraines, IBS, autoimmune symptoms, long COVID, pelvic pain, inflammation, neuropathy, and the way the nervous system can keep us safe in the unsafest way. Most importantly, I want you to understand this: your pain is real, your symptoms are real, and your body is not broken. When you understand what sustained fight-or-flight is doing, when you learn how to lower the emotional reservoir through JournalSpeak, and when you begin treating yourself with real self-compassion, healing becomes possible in a way many people have never been told to consider. Join us! xoox n. SUBSCRIBE TO MY NEW SUBSTACK! So excited about this one :)) Want your questions answered directly by me?
In hour three of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, Mike and Stoke take a hard look at the Nuggets roster and some potential additions they could actually make instead of everyone saying they should get Gianis. Michael Porter Jr had even more to say recently, and it’s starting to get ridiculous. Jared Bednar is busy advocating Cale Makar to win the Norris trophy, but Mike thinks he will receive the Jokic treatment because he has won it too many times. And to close out the hour, we listen to some humble comments from Rockies Manager Warren Schaefer that Stoke and Mike really like.
In hour three of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, Michael Porter Jr had some inflammatory comments about the Nuggets and who he roots for and Stoke has something to say about it, but Mark might be on the other side of things. Sean Payton had some interesting comments to Kay Adams about Davis Webb and how long he will be calling plays and Mark tries to stay professional. And today is a big day for Stoke’s son Carson who is having a big milestone today, it’s his last day of school! To close out the hour the guys start talking about the Rockies and whether they are on the right track.
In hour 2 of The Drive, Zach and Will finish up their conversation on what the Broncos' most difficult road game this season is. We pivot to the Nuggets as their "brass" will all speak tomorrow at the end of the season press conferences. What are the guys looking to hear from Nuggets ownership, executives, and the head coach? Do the Nuggets still have an optimistic future, just three seasons after winning a championship? How will finances impact the Nuggets' roster moves this offseason? Do the Nuggets have any other option besides trading Jamal Murray to reshape their roster? Today's "Three Count" includes Michael Porter Jr. saying he felt like a hater when rooting for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Gary Bettman claiming the NHL playoff model is working really well, and Russell Wilson weighing his options between the Jets or network television. NHL Network Mike Johnson joins the show to discuss if the Avalanche series is over after the Avs took games 1 and 2, the goaltender controversies for both teams in the series, and much more.

For the second hour of Stokely and Evans with Mark Schlereth, The Avalanche got a historic win last night and Mark asks if the NHL would be more popular if things like that happened more often. ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that David Adelman’s job is safe which upset most Nuggets fans and Mark Schlereth gives his opinions on the matter. And in What’s Trending, we play some disparaging clips from Paul Pierce on Nikola Jokic, and Michael Porter Jr expressed some regrets from last season with The Nuggets and claims they would have won with him instead of Cam Johnson.
Melo, Mero, and Kaz kick things off reacting to a funny All the Smoke clip, which leads to Melo sharing a never-heard story about one of his favorite teammates, Andre Miller (2:45). Then the guys debate who the best white NBA player in the league is right now (12:30). Even with Detroit's 3-1 comeback over the Magic, the Pistons still need a real second scoring option, so they get into who should be on their list this summer: Devin Booker, Kawhi Leonard, Michael Porter Jr., or somebody else (33:07). Melo also reacts to Michael Beasley's all-time one-and-done starting 5 and says he's swapping one name out (50:42). Then it gets serious. Melo, Mero, and Kaz go On the Hook for a full hood snacks bracket and argue it all the way down to a winner (1:08:44). As always, the show closes with a hilarious FWI or FOH (2:07:37), but not before the guys get into the Iceman rollout. Melo does not say whether he has heard any of it yet, but he does talk about what he expects from Drake sonically and why he thinks this could end up being his best album yet (2:17:16). Is the NBA draft lottery rigged to reward losing? Veteran NBA insider Ric Bucher sits down with Dr. TJ Highley, Associate Professor of Math & Computer Science at LaSalle University, who has developed a groundbreaking anti-tanking formula that could change the NBA forever — and it doesn't involve eliminating the draft.Highley's COLA (Carryover Lottery Allocation) system strips tanking of its incentive by rewarding playoff history instead of regular season losses. Teams would accumulate lottery tickets over time based on sustained failure — not deliberate losing — making intentional tanking mathematically pointless. But Bucher pushes back with 30 years of hard-won NBA knowledge: not every owner wants to win. Some — following the Donald Sterling playbook — are perfectly content selling hope while pocketing profits. Can any formula fix that?Plus: Bucher delivers a candid reassessment of the Denver Nuggets title chances and why the Michael Porter Jr. trade may have cost them more than anyone realized — rebounding. And a sharp takedown of the analytics crowd that thinks they've cracked the code on building a championship team.⏱️ TIMESTAMPS00:00 — Intro & Book Announcement 02:02 — Meet Dr. TJ Highley: The Math Professor Trying to Fix NBA Tanking 03:31 — His NBA Fandom: Spurs to Sixers & "The Process" 05:21 — COLA Explained: How Playoff History Replaces Regular Season Records 07:57 — Has Any NBA Insider Reviewed This System? 09:59 — Simple COLA: A Brand-New Version Revealed for the First Time 13:35 — Should the NBA Abolish the Draft? In hour 2 of The Drive, Zach and James Merilatt take a deep dive into the Nuggets as they went 0-2 this weekend losing to the Thunder and Timberwolves. Why have the Nuggets not excelled at home the way they have in the past? Will the Nuggets be able to stay healthy throughout the playoff after an injury riddled regular season? Why have the Nuggets struggled in clutch time so much this season compared to years past? Has the Michael Porter Jr. and Cam Johnson proved to be the wrong move for the Nuggets? We react to the breaking news of the Nuggets signing Tyus Jones. Today's "Three Count" features some athletes that ran incredible 40-times at the NFL combine last week and if the Broncos should be interested in them and the sad story in Boulder with quarterback Dominiq Ponder passing away after being in a single-car crash. We react to ESPN's tiers for college football coaches on the hot seat. Is Deion Sanders on the list and should he be on hot seat in Boulder?

Munaf Manji and Dave Essler talk Friday betting. Munaf Manji and Dave Essler closed the week on Cash That Ticket by tightening their focus on specific betting angles across the NFL divisional round and a dense Friday NBA card, emphasizing how market movement, injuries, and usage trends shape late week decisions. Their NFL discussion centered on Seattle versus San Francisco, where brief concern over Sam Darnold's injury report was dismissed as noise rather than actionable information. Instead, attention shifted to Seattle's evolving backfield, with both Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet positioned as central pieces against a 49ers defense they had already exploited late in the regular season. Manji outlined how the near even split in carries and efficiency from both backs supported overs on rushing attempts and yardage, while Essler extended the logic to correlated unders for secondary skill players, arguing that volume for the running game naturally suppresses opportunities elsewhere. The same cause and effect framework guided their thoughts on Cooper Kupp's modest receiving lines, where Essler suggested short area targets could rise if San Francisco limited explosive plays from Seattle's primary threats. The conversation expanded to additional player props, including DeAndre Swift's receiving yardage, which both viewed as mispriced given past usage and matchup tendencies, noting that a single reception could realistically clear the number. On the NBA side, Manji and Essler evaluated Clippers at Raptors through the lens of pace, defensive efficiency, and uncertainty surrounding key injuries. Toronto's season long defensive profile and the Clippers' slow tempo supported an under, while Essler leaned toward the Raptors as a side, contingent on lineup clarity and travel factors. Minnesota at Houston drew similar scrutiny, with both questioning the Rockets' reliability as home favorites, particularly in back to back situations, and highlighting Minnesota's depth and recent efficiency even without Anthony Edwards. They also touched on broader league narratives, from speculation around potential player movement to the competitive imbalance created by high payroll teams in baseball, before locking in best bets. Essler backed Kansas at home in college basketball, citing matchup advantages and motivation, while Manji closed with a points prop on Michael Porter Jr., pointing to shot volume and prior performance against the same opponent as reasons to expect another strong scoring night.
