It's been just 100 years since silent films were all the rage in Hollywood, followed by talkies, moving color, digital, and now AI. Please join me in welcoming two experts in the film world who join us to talk about the ever-changing world of Hollywood, Valentina Castellani Quinn, president of Quinn Studios Entertainment, and Marvin Williams, founder of Big M Entertainment Pictures, discussing their latest venture on the Sony Pictures Studios lot to combine the best of Hollywood with the latest technologies. Valentina's father-in-law was Anthony Quinn, and she talks about the timing of this venture with Sony, once Columbia Pictures, which produced one of Mr. Quinn's greatest films, Lawrence of Arabia. The film's poster hangs proudly in the halls of Sony to celebrate its 100-year anniversary making motion pictures. Marvin, best known for producing “The Jungle Book,” among other classics, said he plans to combine the past with the future of Hollywood projects by merging AI technology with art. He says much like Netflix, Apple, and Hulu, streaming is where it's at. At least for now. Will they transform older films with AI technology? We be talking about that, too. We'll also discuss some new ventures, including involvement with the Canne Film Festival and a very “passionate” film development that's in the works as well. Please tune into #DeborahKobyltLIVE, the #LittleItalyPodcast and #LittleItalyOfLAPodcast on all video and audio podcast platforms to hear our discussion. I'm your host, #DeborahZaraKobylt, and I thank you for joining us.

How many minutes per week do you think you can be exactly yourself? That's the question that host Steve Cuss poses at the beginning of this episode, and it takes on specific meaning as he converses with his guest, Marvin Williams. Williams is the lead pastor of Trinity Church in Lansing, Michigan, and is currently earning his doctorate in systems theory, particularly as it pertains to the African-American experience. His forthcoming dissertation, My Whole Black Self, considers what it's like to be exactly yourself and what happens when people cannot be exactly themselves. Cuss and Williams discuss what drew Williams to systems theory, how leadership starts with personal transformation, and what it looks like to live in one's identity fully. They talk about bullying, anxiety, and the Black writers, thinkers, and experts who have influenced Williams' perspective. The two discuss connectedness, what it's like to be in majority culture spaces, and how calmness is not always the opposite of anxiety. Their discussion also explores violence against Black Americans, the nuances of pastoring, and the role of politics in the life of the church.

'Tis the time of year when the colds take hold of us and our little ones, isn't it? I had a call scheduled with a dear old friend to talk about my book and life LIVE on the podcast and facebook today (which is how we found each other and how we have stayed in touch), but in a pre-call we realized that we both sound under the weather and a chat would not be in our best interests today.Remember, there will be days where you feel better and sound better - if it can wait for those days, then why rush it? We have this culture of push, push, push and go, go, go, but working with horses reminds us that this is not the natural way of things. After all, the race is only 30 seconds, and in the end, it's with yourself!Part of the training to prepare for the race comes from self care and taking it easy on days when you are off so you do not make yourself sicker. We can literally "run ourselves to death." Dena Bjork and I got on the phone and chatted a bit about this before we decided to postpone our live chat to a day when we have energy for an hour length call and don't feel like we are pushing it.You'll hear me rap about this and attempt to play her review of the book which she shared with me via Facebook Messenger last month, but God's plan was not for it to play... so I went to another message from another colleague of mine in the horse world, the dear Marvin Williams, and shared a quote from the book that resonated with him.If you have a book in you or a pivot in your own life story to share today, do it - your health and those of your fellows depends on each of us doing the work to take care of ourselves. This is the essential kindness, also known as love, and related to forgiveness.Support the showUpcoming events:The 2024 Adventure Paradox Digital Course HOLIDAY PRESALEConnect with me here:www.catcaldwellmyers.com@catcaldwellmyersThe Adventure Paradox Podcast Page (Fb)

Gina Cherion emailed me recently asking about Systems Theory in non white spaces, specifically how differentiation works in Asian culture. Gina is a pastor of Indian descent and when I received her email I knew I wanted to interview her and Marvin Williams who I have gotten to know through my Systems work and through Capable Life. Marvin is doing doctoral work at Fuller Seminary on Systems Theory, specifically on black presence in majority culture. I LOVED this conversation with these two pastors who led us on a great journey of managing expectations, carrying the weight of culture, shape shifting and more. Gina Cherian has served the church in various roles, including serving as a campus pastor of a large multisite church and her current role as a pastor at Hope Community Church on the North Shore of Chicago. Gina longs to see every person discover the life-changing grace of Christ that has transformed her life. As an Indian-American woman, she is passionate about advancing the beautiful multiethnic community described in Revelation to our reality today. Gina is a devoted fan of all things related to her hometown of Chicago: sports, food, and even the weather. She resides in the Chicagoland area with her husband and two kids. Marvin Williams has served as the Lead Pastor of Trinity Church in Lansing, Michigan since February 2010. He is a graduate of Bishop College in Dallas, Texas, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, and Grand Rapids Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He and his wife Tonia have three children. In addition to his ministry at Trinity Church, he was a regular devotional author for Our Daily Bread and Our Daily Journey and was one of the Bible Teachers for Sports.org. He is also a contributor to Scott Williams' best-selling book, Church Diversity. He regularly speaks at conferences, retreats, chapels and churches around the country.
