The league's 30th season has been greatly anticipated because of the plans the WNBA and its teams have to celebrate the legacy and the deep history of the longest-running women's professional sports league in the United States. With the introduction of two more teams in the Portland Fire and the Toronto Tempo, the result is much more competition for playoff spots. Last season around 62 percent of all the teams made it to the postseason, but in 2026 that number shrinks to just over 53 percent. As a result, the tiers that make up the league have shifted. Have you ever told a child, “It's not a big deal” or “You're overreacting”? Many of us grew up hearing these phrases, and without realizing it, we may now be saying the same things to the children we support. But what if minimizing a child's emotions does more harm than good—especially for neurodivergent kids? In this episode of The Autism ADHD Podcast, I dive into why problem sizing the struggles of neurodivergent children can be harmful, how dismissing emotions can impact self-trust, self-advocacy, and emotional regulation, and how minimizing emotions can create long-term struggles in seeking help. I also cover practical strategies to help kids recognize and process their emotions—without shutting them down By the end of this episode, you'll have a deeper understanding of why validating children's emotions is crucial and how small shifts in language can make a world of difference! But is it all a huge deal or is it more like Shakespeare said, a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury signifying nothing? That's the question weo wanted to put to our round-table today and Once again, we had a pinch hit from our friend, Matt Wylie, who was super subbing in for Alicia Preston.
