Tom Logue - January 11th 2026 When we stop listening and obeying, we wander — but prayer shows us the way forward. This week, Tom pauses our King and His Kingdom series to bring a prophetic and pastoral message rooted in Exodus 15 and Numbers 13–14, asking a piercing question the Lord placed on his heart: Why did God's people wander in the wilderness? Though the journey from Egypt to the Promised Land should have taken days, Israel wandered for forty years because they chose complaint over trust and fear over obedience. Through the stories of Moses, Caleb, Joshua, and the people of Israel, Tom shows how forgetting what God is capable of leads to fear, rebellion, and spiritual drifting. The message presses closer to home as Tom reminds us that this is not just Israel's story — it's ours. When we stop listening to God and obeying His voice, we wander relationally, spiritually, and communally. Drawing a powerful modern analogy and tying it to the life of prayer, Tom calls the church to build their lives around ongoing, relational prayer, not occasional moments. Prayer is not a religious task — it's the way we stay close to God, avoid wandering, and walk faithfully toward the Promised Land. As we step into a new year, this sermon invites every listener to examine their life honestly: Are we walking with God, or wandering without Him? The invitation is clear and hopeful — return to prayer, trust the Lord's leadership, and walk forward together into the fullness of His kingdom. After years in clinical social work and the sacred chaos of raising five children, God radically redirected Liz's path. She stepped into ministry as a writer and speaker, trusting Him to do what only He can. Raised by a faithfilled single mom, Liz felt called to love God and teach his Word in her late teen's and she's never stopped.  We met at two different writing conferences. Here we are last year at Mt Hermon: Some gems from our conversation: To mentor someone in the faith, you just need to be one or two steps ahead, bringing them closer to Jesus. My legacy is to not try to be a perfect Christian, just forgiven and redeemed. I love to help people fall deeper in love with Jesus and to help them understand him and his character more thoroughly. When I don't feel close to God, I need to place the truth of his Word over and above my feelings and place my trust in him. From being raised by a single, faith-filled mom, I learned first-hand to look and depend on God as my Father and provider. My current favorite verse is the one that God is working into my life at this moment. Our emotions try and speak our truth but we only find truth in the Word and God's character.   Liz House is a Christian author, Bible teacher, and speaker passionate about helping believers grow in their faith with boldness and grace. She creates faith-based content such as books, Bible study tools, podcasts, and messages designed to help believers encounter Jesus and deepen their spiritual walk.  She speaks and writes with conviction, humor, and vulnerability because she knows what it's like to wrestle with doubt and still choose faith. She lives in the U.S. with her husband and her kids, joyfully serving the local church and global body of Christ--one gospel-centered word at a time.     Liz is offering for free her mini e-book entitled "The Power of Weakness: Why Your Limitations are the Surprising Key to Spiritual Health" God isn't waiting for your strength; He's offering His. It's easy to think our limitations disqualify us. But in Christ, they become invitations to His power. Grab this FREE mini e-book — plus a bonus 7-day prayer journey — and learn to see your limits through a fresh, faith-filled lens.   Thanks, Liz!   And check out her books: Book 1: Drowning in the Shallow End: A Guide for Deepening Faith https://www.amazon.com/Drowning-Shallow-End-Guide-Deepening/dp/B0BCRTGVZH   Book 2: 10 Tips for Deeper Bible Study https://tinyurl.com/3rpwv37r Follow Liz and sign up for her newsletter at lizhouse.net Social media links:  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/authorlizhouse/ Blog: https://www.lizhouse.net/blog/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/authorlizhouse Threads: https://www.threads.com/@authorlizhouse Youtube Shorts: https://www.youtube.com/@authorlizhouse/shorts Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@authorlizhouse?_t=ZT-8yhvT1dzQZj&_r=1 X: https://x.com/authorlizhouse

We are joining with other Churches in our region to be in unity and awaken the sleeping giant, the local Church, and impact our community with the tangible compassion and love of Jesus. We want to love like Jesus because Jesus is the demonstration of God's love for us. We can't even contain God's supernatural love. We must let Him infuse us with His love and look for opportunities to give in a way that is costly and precious. I must remember how God loves me and praise Him, and be ready with my testimony of what He has saved me from. I must pray every day for an opportunity to express love in a way that is costly. I can take action and be ready, so that when the Holy Spirit quickens me it will be easy to give and express His supernatural love

For some they're the stuff of nightmares, but many of us can't get enough of horror films. For Halloween, CrowdScience investigates the science of why we enjoy films that scare the living daylights out of us. CrowdScience listener Maria from Taiwan is one of those people who would rather avoid frightening films, yet her husband loves them and is always trying to get her to watch with him. She wants to know why people like her husband are so drawn to horror films. To try and find out, presenter Anand Jagatia travels to the Recreational Fear Lab in Aarhus, Denmark, which is dedicated to understanding why people frighten themselves for fun. He meets the research lab's directors Mathias Clasen and Marc Andersen who explain how horror and recreational fear could help us cope better with uncertainty, bond with those we are frightened beside, and perhaps even have some physical health benefits. They also take Anand to a haunted house, called Dystopia, which has used the Recreational Fear Lab's research to become as terrifying as possible. And we hear from horror film music composer, Mark Korven, who creates tension and fear using an invention he calls ‘the apprehension engine'. He speaks to BBC Naturebang's Becky Ripley who has been investigating sounds that scare us and their evolutionary origins. Sermon RecapTitle: When Leaders Lie and People Love ItScripture: Jeremiah 23:1–40Speaker: Lee ArnoldThis week, we looked at how God calls out leaders who use their power for selfish reasons and lead people away from the truth. In Jeremiah 23, God warns that He will hold these leaders accountable, but He also promises hope—a future King who will rule with justice and righteousness: Jesus Christ.Lee reminded us that true leadership means speaking truth, not just what people want to hear. God's Word is like wheat—it gives life and strength—while false teaching is like chaff that blows away.Key Takeaways:God sees and knows everything.Leaders are responsible for those they guide.Truth must never be replaced by comfort.Jesus is the only righteous and faithful King.Let's stay grounded in God's Word, lead with integrity, and keep the light of truth shining. For prayer, call 800-461-0216 or visit www.hesthesolution.comLearn more about Be Bold for Jesus 2026 at www.bb4j.com.

In this episode of The Digital Executive, host Brian Thomas welcomes Tetiana (Tanya) Kobzar, founder of Diversido, an award-winning software development company supporting 65+ startups across HealthTech, EdTech, and IoT. With a master's in computer science and over 15 years of experience bridging technology and business outcomes, Tetiana shares how she helps founders turn great ideas into products people truly want to use.Tetiana discusses her transition from hands-on coder to business leader and what it takes to delegate, build trust, and lead with vision. She dives deep into gamification and behavioral design, explaining how emotional engagement—not just functionality—drives long-term user success. From helping kids improve speech through playful therapy to keeping seniors motivated in cognitive health apps, her work proves gamification has no age limits. She also unpacks her data-first philosophy: “You can't improve what you don't measure.” Tetiana reveals how user logs, analytics, and heatmaps uncover hidden insights that drive product evolution. For early-stage founders, she stresses the power of starting lean—building a minimum viable product (MVP), measuring impact, and pivoting quickly when needed.Whether you're a product strategist, developer, or startup founder, Tetiana's insights offer a masterclass in human-centered product design and smart, scalable innovation. If you liked what you heard today, please leave us a review - Apple or Spotify. Has anyone told you that you're gorgeous? It's true, as obvious as when we're rolling a turd, suffering a pincer attack, wishing there were anime in an anime moment, yanking off nipples, adapting dragon technology, vowing to stop a cretin, stumbling into a fairy garden, chafing at a wicked manner, laying off the goblin workforce, shopping at Home Depot, peeling back Chris' Secret Garden meta layer, searching for the new Golgotha, accepting Phacia's sacrifice, and engaging in what is surely going to be the final battle. Why Young People Love Socialism

Honestly with Bari Weiss

Just two weeks ago, New Yorkers voted en masse for a self-proclaimed socialist—someone who once called for “seizing the means of production.” This is, of course, Zohran Mamdani, who dominated in the Democratic primary for New York City mayor with a definitive victory over Andrew Cuomo. He has called for rent freezes, free buses, and even government-run grocery stores. He won 56 percent of the vote in a campaign fueled by young, highly educated, wealthy people—many of whom believe in reviving socialism here in America, in 2025. According to a Cato Institute poll from May: 62 percent of Americans age 18 to 29 say they hold a “favorable view” of socialism. And 34 percent had a positive view of communism. Polls by Emerson and Marist from May and June had shown Mamdani leading with voters under 45 by as much as a 2:1 ratio against the former governor. This phenomenon has left many people wondering: Why are so many young people embracing a failed economic system? Is it their university education? Is it the influence of social media? Is it just “cool”? Is it a desperate call for anything to fix wealth inequality? Or is it something else? Here to help us understand are Tyler Cowen and Kyla Scanlon. Tyler Cowen is an economist and Free Press columnist who just wrote an important essay for us called “Why Won't Socialism Die?” Kyla Scanlon is a writer, economic commentator, and educator—and, importantly for this conversation, a member of Gen Z. She is 28, and her new book is In This Economy? How Money & Markets Really Work. This conversation was originally a Free Press livestream—and you'll hear throughout this conversation that I take lots of questions from people who joined us live.
