An emerging talent of prominence hailing from Mexico, Lokier, as a DJ & producer is cutting a stream into the estuaries of techno, industrial, EBM and electro afixed with trance, new wave, and its denounced varieties. While running the gamut of Berlin's underground, from off-location raves to Berghain and Tresor, and with a recent inclusion as a resident to Revier Südost (former Griessmuehle). Her breech into the European circuit, although clandestine, has seen gain familiarity. Lokier has also been in several parts of the world including North America, Europe, Asia, and South America. Her tracks over the years have made their way to the edit pits of Mick Wills, Solar's giallo horror platform Squirrels on Film, to aufnahme + wiedergabe and Sacred Bones with a remix of The Soft Moon.  Light Strike, the new record label from Lokier is a platform to showcase the artists vision and unfiltered expression, with the first release coming from herself.  Amid the regalia of gothic, and post-industrial music, Lokier's plunge into the deeper esoterics of this sound only adds a fresh and inspired ethos to her work, aesthetic and vision. Often those who bubble slightly beneath the surface have the most interesting knowledge base, taste and style. Diet Clinic is a one woman project and an alias under which Kristina McCormick operates with dedication and talent. Her regular NTS show has become a staple listen within the four walls of the Ransom Note office and her taste is remarkable and off centre. Kristina is empowered and prolific, hard working and driven not only to her own success but to the success of women within electronic music across the board. This is perhaps best shown by the work she does in managing her own Weaponise Your Sound record label which has prominently featured an array of female artists including Lokier, Fantastic Twins, C.A.R, Sue Zuki and more. A compilation was released on International Women's Day earlier this year and we have been firmly promised that another awaits in the not too distant future. These are exciting times for a bubbling force within the wider electronic music community.

We've been quietly watching the career of Djedjotronic from afar for some time, he has evolved as an artist and has emerged from the big room bonanza with a unique and singular sound which has been well supported and praised. Along the way he has collaborated with some of the most influential in dance and electronic music including the likes of Miss. Kittin and Cardopusher. He has released most prominently on Boys Noize Records and is now set to release his debut full length album which showcases his talent in a new light. A few weeks ago we premiered a collaborative reimagination of Gary Numan's track "Are Friends Electric" in collaboration with Lokier... It's a sign of good things to come...

Now then, what have we here? Morgan Hammer remains an understated force beneath the surface of electronic music, a tried and tested disc jockey and one half of the dynamic duo She Made Monster alongside Lokier. She's previously released music on Optimo Trax and her influence amidst the Barcelona club culture scene remains prominent. Not one to take things lightly she blurs the lines between oddball foor to the floor house and techno alongside excursions in electro, post punk, new wave and beyond. Purposeful and dynamic her sets are rugged yet beautifully enchanting. We invited her to deliver a mix for Ransom Note, an outing which is long overdue given her affiliations with some of our favourites. One to watch and take note.

Bucharest based producers/ remixers/ DJs, the Gemini Brothers describe 2014 as their "remix year". Tronik Youth, Shindu & Future Bones amongst others on the list of artists getting their trade mark, slo-mo, dirty arpeggiated dark disco mixes. 2015 is more about original tracks with releases already scheduled at least from May to September. We've got an EP on Duncan Grays Tici Taci imprint to look forward to in May, with remixes from Somerville & Wilson as well as a Tici Taci version. Then there's another EP in June on the fantastic Nein Records featuring remixes from In Flagranti, Daniel Kyo (Poker Flat), Lokier and Teniente Castillo. There's also stuff coming on new french label called Mange_Moi and Sheffield based Itchy Pig. Combined with more remixes still to drop, it's looking like we'll be hearing a lot more from Gemini Brothers this year. If you'd like to catch them live they DJ at the Pre Party & the Nein Records Igloo @ Alfresco Festival in Blackpool - May 23rd & 24th. There's further UK dates in Newcastle & Birmingham in June.
