If anyone knows me they know i love horror and that does include suspense thrillers as well. I would say that spirits and apparitions scare me the most which is why What Lies Beneath is a great film to have scene. In addition to the scares you have a mystery to solve and at the forefront is the one and only Michelle Pheiffer. Who says PG-13 thriller movies can't be terrifying? This movie breaks that belief and along with Suzy, we are here to rewatch and review in deep length. "There are no such thing as a guilty pleasure film. When you see the name Christopher Nolan you think brilliance, excellence, genius movie maker. Some would say that Inception is the example of a perfect film. Can Nolan do no wrong? Who makes the criteria of what a perfect film is? Did you even understand Inception by the end of the movie or did it just sound like it knew what it was talking about and you went along with it? Also, that ending! Thoughts? We cover all that and more in this rewatch review of the film to try and break down all its layers and if we still think it holds up today. I brought along a huge C. Nol fan to help review inception. I hope you all enjoy our conversation. "There are no such thing as a guilty pleasure film. F%$# the haters and be proud of your taste in film." In March I think of Green and with that said, it makes sense to compliment our last episode of The Mask with another crazy and wacky character in green DROP DEAD FRED. Who didn't want an imaginary friend when they were little and if you didn't, this movie watching as a child definitely made you want an instant best friend. Watching this as an adult now, whoa, what a change and that is where this conversation stems from. Such a serious approach when taking all of this in, Suzy and I couldn't help but dive real deep into what was going on with Elizabeth and determine if this is a universe with imaginary friends or is this a metaphor for mental illness, trauma, depression, or maybe even both. Keeping it green for the month of March, I review another film on the shelf with a green character. One of my favorite movies of all times, The Mask. I think this movie holds the most watched at a theatre during its initial run. Now I am watching it again to see if its still good enough to stay on my shelf. Joining me is Ryan from the Radical Retro Rewind podcast to help me review this classing Jim Carrey film. How does it hold up today? Should it have been R Rated and more like the comics? The review you have all been waiting for. A rewatch of the 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters. critically and audience hated, Suzy and I are going to give this movie another watch and see if we still disagree with the thoughts on this film as both of us happened to enjoy it our first time around. Do we feel the same now. Recorded during 2020 and just after discovering the film Ghostbusters Afterlife, we thought it would be a good time to see if this movie holds up in any way or has any redeeming qualities people just don't see. You thought Source Code with Jake Gyllenhaal was a time loop mind fuck, check out his first trip down the pivotal time portal rabbit hole with Donnie Darko. Along with my friend Suzy, we dissect this film down to its last image from beginning to end to maybe finally make some sense as to what this movie was telling us. To make sense of the two universes, the time travel, the rabbit, and why I am so obsessed with him. Donnie Darko being one of my favorite movies of all times is finally getting the rewatch and the attention it deserves. If you also had feelings about this movie and still couldn't put your finger on what was going on, you might gain something from this conversation. 22 yrs. later, lets talk about the enigma that is Donnie Darko. Digging up an old review from back in the day. In fact, this was the last review i recorded before hearing about the pandemic. My last review where my guest for the review were in person with me. So not only are we reviewing a film to see if it holds up, ill be listening to a review to see if what we said still holds up. I along with two other friends revisit Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit just a month short of its 28th anniversary. Let's join the sisters in song and revisit a new generation of singers to form a new choir. Since I own this film, I will also be checking to see if this movie stays on my shelf or get tossed. One of the scariest films of all times and my favorite horror film of all times is finally being reviewed during movie club, Candyman from 1992. I am joined by Nate who is a big fan of film as well and we remind those who have not seen this film why it shouldn't be overlooked and why its so good that someone almost 30 years later felt that the story needed to be expanded. As you heard from our last episode. Noah was reminded of his favorite movie "Pleasantville" and I made a point that i would love to see how that movie holds up. We made a point to watch and review that movie and this is the outcome. Enjoy our review rewatching a story that touches on the subject that hits a little close to home but also enjoying some light-hearted fun and the good ol' days of classic black and white television. Noah of course had to come back again to talk about his favorite movie. How does this movie hold up today on the subject of race without hardly to no people of color to tell the story? Movie Geeks, summer is over and now we are headed back to fall and that only means one thing and thats fall tv is back. For the month of Sept. we are doing two films focused around tv. For this month's Rob's Rewind its an old favorite of mine starring the late John Ritter in "Stay Tuned". How does this movie look after so long? Does it still hold up when the art of television has changed so much in the 90s and will it stay on my shelf? Joining me to help me figure that out is classic tv lover Noah. MovieGeeks, movie lovers, campers, we have reached the end of the tour. We have been through so many camp and other activities during the summer like summer jobs, school, along with band camp, detention Camp, fat camp, drama camp, camp for kids, camp for adults, magic camp, camp with horrible counselors, and camp with no supervision at all. Now we wrap up to talk about girl scouts. Ryan and Noah join me to review the classic (In my eyes) film Troop Beverly Hills. Relive the 80's, the fashion, and the brilliant comedic chops of Shelly Long. Find out which Girl Scout Cookie we favor, our memories of the cookie time song, and all the celebrity cameos we spotted in the film and much more. From now until the end of August, there will be a new episode every week watching and reviewing different scenarios and locations of what and where you would be doing and going for the summer. This is a collaboration with the podcast Radical Retro Rewind Podcast. Ryan the host will be enjoying summer camp at Crystal Lake with Pamela, Jason, Tommy and many more every Friday from now until August. I will be popping in on some of those reviews myself. Summer Camp and Other Tour every Wednesday and Friday for the whole summer. This Friday is a wrap up episode to talk about the entire franchise and the journey watching them all this summer. Ryan, David, and myself will pick our favorite moments, pick our favorite film of the franchise and much more. In two week, we go back to normal as a bi-weekly podcast celebrating the return of new TV reviewing TV themed movies "Stay Tuned" & "Pleasentville" "There are no such thing as a guilty pleasure film.
