In this episode of Drinks and a Movie, we're going shaken, not stirred with a dive into the 12th James Bond film, For Your Eyes Only (1981), starring Roger Moore in one of his most grounded and underrated performances as 007. We're ditching gadgets for grit as Bond embarks on a Cold War-era mission filled with ski chases, underwater action, and crossbows?!We'll explore how this entry attempted to bring the franchise back down to Earth after the space-age spectacle of Moonraker and why For Your Eyes Only remains a standout for Bond fans. But first, we kick things off with a review of the Angels Envy Triple Oak whiskey – a limited-edition Kentucky straight bourbon finished in three different oak casks. Is it worthy of a secret agent's palate, or just another overhyped pour? Pour a glass and tune in for Bond trivia, bold opinions, and bourbon breakdowns.

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY - How the Story Came to be FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, the movie, was not the story from Ian Fleming's short story with the same title.   In this episode, Dan and Tom decode the movie to see how the story came to be. Some of the characters from the movie, and some of the plot points were adapted from Ian Fleming's 1960 short stories “For Your Eyes Only” and “Risico”.  Plus, the locations of the 2 stories and the movie are all different. People's names have changed.  The reason that people have wanted revenge has changed.  The MacGuffin has changed. Yet, even with all of that, the movie, FOR YOUR EYES ONLY turned into one of Roger Moore's best movies playing James Bond. And the 1968 movie ICE STATION ZEBRA definitely influenced the final version of the movie FOR YOUR EYES ONLY.  Dan and Tom lay it out in this episode! So, take a listen.  We assume you've seen the movie FOR YOUR EYES ONLY. Have you read Fleming's short stories “For Your Eyes Only” and “Risico”?  If so, did Dan and Tom miss anything?  Let us know your thoughts, ideas for future episodes, and what you thought of this episode by dropping us a note at info@spymovienavigator.com.  The more we hear from you, the better the show will be! Pete Romano ASC, renowned underwater cinematographer, joins Vance and Nigel and shares his interesting career path, eventually working on a long list of iconic films including The Abyss, Titanic, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, The Call of the Wild, The Life Aquatic, and For Your Eyes Only. We get to go behind the scenes with Pete as he shares stories working with the likes of James Cameron and Tom Cruise. Pete shares how his company Hydroflex, makers of premier underwater camera housings and lighting, came to fruition after making his first housing while working at Industrial Light & Magic. He also recounts what may be the silliest, or stupidest, thing he's ever done in his career. Vance and Nigel get inspired discussing their recent work travel experiences, from Spain to the Pacific Northwest and the Caribbean. They share some laughs at the insanity of shooting in one city to look like another, and the challenge of casting the right faces for a location when you're on the other side of the world. Nigel reveals the documentary he's been working on, centered around a saloon that eventually became the heart of the grunge movement. In the last segment, Vance shares his insights on what it takes to be an underwater cinematographer or camera operator. Follow @twostopsoverpodcast on Instagram, TikTok, and FacebookHost: Vance Burberry ACS, Nigel DickProducers: Vance Burberry, Nigel Dick, Lindha NarvaezExecutive Producer: Lindha NarvaezAssociate Producer: Tyler Taylor Intern: Jorja Moes

It's 1982 (in our hearts, at least), so we're looking at the Mad magazines of 1982. (Historians agree that for a truly accurate account of the past, you should just read Mad. Plus you get to do the Fold-In.) That year Mad's TV and movie parodies included Raiders of the Lost Ark, Archie Bunker's Place, Family Feud, For Your Eyes Only, The Greatest American Hero, The Fall Guy, M*A*S*H, The Facts of Life, and Rocky III! (Want to see Alfred E. Neuman as Mr. T? Done!) Mad also covered video games (their Man of the Year may have been a Pac-Man) and did some silly stuff with lobsters too, just for Kornflake. And speaking of Kornflake, her pick for 1982 is a Corn Flakes commercial! Also: It's Freezepop Day. So listen to some synthpop and chomp on a weird frozen thing. Mickey Rooney loves Corn Flakes! Bob Barry's Unearthed Interviews

This Scottish born singer had a bunch of hits on the American charts. Sheena Easton was one of the most popular British female recording artists of the 80s. She won six Grammys, recorded 15 albums, 55 singles, and had 20 consecutive hits on the Billboard charts between 1981 and 1991 and sold 40 million records. Sheena was the first recording artist in history to have a top 5 hit on each of the Billboard singles charts. “Morning Train (Nine to Five), “We've Got Tonight” with Kenny Rogers (country) and “Sugar Walls”. That song was banned by some radio stations. She also scored a top ten hit with the James Bond theme “For Your Eyes Only.” Her singing career was inspired by the movie “The Way We Were” with Barbra Streisand. She performed in a number of Broadway musicals including “Grease.”  Sheena lives in Las Vegas.
