An episode from Queanbeyan Bible Baptist Church (QBBC), a conservative, independent body of King James Bible believers located near Canberra, NSW Australia. What QBBC believes about the Holy Bible: That both verbal and plenary inspiration applies to the Scriptures known as the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament Canon. That is, that God literally breathed His words and that every part of the Scriptures is the Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16. We believe that God preserved His words as he promised to do. These words are preserved in the original languages of Hebrew and Greek exactly the way He intended them to be without need of addition or subtraction to any part of them. Deuteronomy 4:2; Psalm 12:6-7. We also believe that the doctrine of inspiration is of no value without the doctrine of preservation. What QBBC believes about Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh (John 1:1-14), that He is fully God while at the same time being fully man. (Isaiah 9:6), that He is perfect in every way. (Hebrews 4:15), that He is the only way of salvation (John 14:6), that He was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14), that He lived a sinless life, died on a cross at Calvary, was buried, arose bodily from the dead, ascended to Heaven, sits at the right hand of God the Father's throne making intercession for Believers, will meet His Bride in the air in the rapture, and will return bodily to the earth to establish His Millennial Kingdom on earth. Hebrews 4:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 8:34; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; 2 Timothy 2:8; Revelation 19:11-16; 20:4. What QBBC believes about the Holy Ghost: That He is fully God. That He resides within the body of every born-again Believer. 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20; Ephesians 5:18. That He is referred to as the Comforter and the Spirit in the Scriptures. John 14:16, 26. That He reproves the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. John 16:7-11. That He baptizes every Believer into the Body of Christ at the time of conversion and seals them for eternity. John 3:5-8; Romans 6:3; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; 2 Corinthians 1:22; Galatians 3:27; Ephesians 1:13; 4:4-5, 30. That He will bear fruit in the life of the Believer and is actively trying to mold them into the image of Christ. Romans 8:23-29; Galatians 5:22-23; 2 Corinthians 3:18. That He makes intercession on behalf of Believers according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27. église AB Lausanne ; KJV Leviticus 10 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace. And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp. So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said. And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled. And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of the LORD is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses. And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying, Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations: And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean; ...

And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty. And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office. And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office. And they shall take gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen. And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cunning work. It shall have the two shoulderpieces thereof joined at the two edges thereof; and so it shall be joined together. And the curious girdle of the ephod, which is upon it, shall be of the same, according to the work thereof; even of gold, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen. And thou shalt take two onyx stones, and grave on them the names of the children of Israel: Six of their names on one stone, and the other six names of the rest on the other stone, according to their birth. ...

église AB Lausanne ; KJV 1 Chronicles 24 Now these are the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron; Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Elezar and Ithamar executed the priest's office. And David distributed them, both Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their offices in their service. And there were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar; and thus were they divided. Among the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen chief men of the house of their fathers, and eight among the sons of Ithamar according to the house of their fathers. Thus were they divided by lot, one sort with another; for the governors of the sanctuary, and governors of the house of God, were of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar. And Shemaiah the son of Nethaneel the scribe, one of the Levites, wrote them before the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and before the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites: one principal household being taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar. Now the first lot came forth to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah, The third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim, The fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin, The seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah, ...

église AB Lausanne ; KJV Exodus 24 And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the LORD, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off. And Moses alone shall come near the LORD: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him. And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the LORD hath said will we do. And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel. And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD. And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient. And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words. Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness. ...

Leviticus 10:1–2 Now Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it and laid incense on it and offered unauthorized fire before the LORD, which he had not commanded them. And fire came out from before the LORD and consumed them, and they died before the LORD.Nadab and Abihu were the oldest and second oldest sons of Aaron, the brother of Moses and first high priest of Israel.Nadab and Abihu are known for offering “unauthorized fire” (or “strange fire,” KJV) before the Lord in the tabernacle and dying as a result. Those who served as priests before the Lord were required to serve Him honorably. If they did not, the consequence was death. The reason for the sudden death of Nadab and Abihu remains one of the Torah's most perplexing mysteries. These Bible verses suggest many possible inferences. The brothers each laid incense on a burning pan, which they offered as "alien fire" that God had not commanded of them. As a consequence, fire came forth from the Lord and consumed them (Lev. 10:2)Strange fireTheir unauthorized fire was met with an unquenchable one. God killed them on the spot in dramatic fashion. What exactly was this strange fire? Did they use the wrong incense? Did they come at the wrong time? Did they enter the Holy of Holies? Were they drunk (Lev. 10:9)? Did they offer incense to a false god?Exodus 30:9 You shall not offer unauthorized incense on it, or a burnt offering, or a grain offering, and you shall not pour a drink offering on it.A subsequent Bible verse states, The Lord spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron who died when they drew too close to the presence of the Lord (Lev. 16:1). This verse reiterates what happened to Nadab and Abihu, but adds when they drew too close to the presence of the Lord. How We Worship MattersNadab and Abihu went rogue and did what “he had not commanded them.”Are we offering “strange fire” as worship?Given the lack of a clear reason for the death of Nadab and Abihu, ancient rabbis and medieval commentators came to suggest other reasons for the severe fate of these two, Milgrom notes, including "drunkenness, celibacy, arrogant impatience for Moses and Aaron to die, or neglect of their sacred obligations.John 4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.God will not be glorified before the people unless His servants submit to His commands. The coals that Nadab and Abihu used came from a source that was ‘profane.'” It was not normative. Profane there doesn't mean something like swearing. It means ritually disqualified, ritually impure. This story of the death of Nadab and Abihu falls into a set of unusual stories in the BibleWhile God does not consume rebellious people by causing fire to fall from heaven today (He did in the past and He will in the future), it should be clearly noted that He never takes lightly someone trying to replace His work with their own.Repentance involves recognizing that you have thought wrongly in the past and determining to think rightly in the future. The full biblical definition of repentance is a change of mind that results in a change of action."Unless you repent, you will all perish!" (Luke 13:3)2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death. This is a public episode. Our worship series continues, as Matt and Rachel discuss Leviticus. In particular, they focus on the story of Nadab and Abihu, who offered unauthorized fire to the Lord and were destroyed. What can Christians learn about God and worship from this story? Quite a lot, as it turns out, and things that still apply to us today, even after the coming of Christ. You may even find yourself wanting to read Leviticus.

Kicking off Horror Bible 2021 is the story of Moses' nephews, Nadab and Abihu, who suffer a terrible fate for breaking with their community's religious norms.
It would have been news that traveled fast: Two priests of the newly established order have been reported dead. (based on Leviticus chapter 10)
The story of Nadab and Abihu is a startling story that alarms the modern reader. What can we learn from this story? Is God severe? What kind of God is behind this frightening scene from God's Word? Brett and Rick delve into the story of the brothers who approached the worship of God with "strange" or "unauthorized" fire.
In this week's lesson, we take a look at a profane offering made by Nadab and Abihu. We dive into what made their offering to the Lord profane and how we should present ourselves before the Lord.

A reading of the text and discussion of it with a time of personal reflection at the end.
This week we will be covering two accounts of God sending down fire from Heaven-- within the pages of Leviticus chapters 9 and 10. The first instance was one of great joy and splendor-- the other was one of tragedy. Yet, both accounts speak to God's authority and sovereignty over all things in this life, including the ways in which we worship Him. How did the Israelites respond when they saw this magnificent demonstration of God's power? How does their response correlate with other passages in both the Old and New Testaments? These details and many more, will be discussed in today's Bible teaching. As always there will be plenty of life applications for us to learn along the way. Praying that you are blessed by this week's Bible study!
This week's podcast will take us through God's instructions concerning the grand alter of incense which was to be placed within the tabernacle. We will also be learning of the two men that God gifted and appointed to oversee the tabernacle's overall construction and establishment. How does the alter of incense relate to our personal prayer time during the week as Christians? How quick did Aaron's two sons disobey God's instructions concerning the ordinances of the alter? Why did both the rich and the poor, have to pay the exact same amount of "ransom" money? All of these things and many more will be discussed in today's podcast teaching. As always there will many life applications for us to learn along the way. Praying that you are blessed by today's Bible study!

Summary:The sons of Aaron made a sinful choice because of a bad influence. Remove this bad influence from your life.Scripture:Leviticus 10:1-2, 9-10 Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded them. So fire went out from the LORD and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.... 9 "Do not drink wine or intoxicating drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the tabernacle of meeting, lest you die. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations, 10 "that you may distinguish between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean,Transcript:And now Admonition...Two men were invited to take part in the ceremony. They were invited to take part in the beginning of a ceremony that that would set and alter the course of an entire nation. And they didn't live through the experience. Aaron had two sons names Nadab, and Abihu. He had four... those two we're talking about, Nadab and Abihu were priests of God. They were supposed to offer fire and incense upon the altar and they didn't do it properly. And do you know why? If you read Leviticus chapter 10 very carefully, you'll find out why... they were drunk. They didn't know the difference between one fire and another, and they put the wrong fire on the altar and God took their lives. Don't drink.
