In this episode of the Do The Math Podcast we sit down with Seattle's own, the legendary Grammy nominated producer, album cut assassin and blap architect Jake One. Jake has a particularly interesting perspective on the Tribal Productions crew, seeing them from their absolute genesis point as kids performing at Garfield High School talent shows to putting out music locally. We also talk about Jake's start in beatmaking, learning from Vitamin D, digging for samples and making the Conmen tapes with Mr. Supreme, Conception Records, hooking up with Minneapolis's Rhymesayers crew, Jake's involvement with Mayer Hawthorne and his Tuxedo project, Snare Jordan and a bunch of other topics. Official Town Business.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Peace, @Large here. When The Dope Joints! Hip Hop Mixshow ended I told you we'd still podcast once and while and here's the first example. I went down to Psychedelic Soul Shack (Kinetik's radio show) two Saturdays ago and brought a crate of wax. Kinetik did his thing first which was absolutely ridicuous and then I did mine. Kinetik was straight showing off all the bottom lip biting/painful look on your face breaks he has and I followed that up with some smoothed out Hip Hop and instrumental vibes. If you're into records, breaks and basking in your own weirdness then Psychedelic Soul Shack is for you. It airs Saturdays 11 PM to midnight on CJUM 101.5 FM in Winnipeg, MTS Cable 718 in Manitoba and online at www.umfm.com/listenonline. Stay up on it here... http://www.facebook.com/ThePsychadelicSoulShack. Enjoy!
