ER nurse Lori Price and dentist Dr. Valerie Preston join host Dr. Mike Chupp to share about their experience co-leading a Global Health Outreach (GHO) mission team to Bangkok's red light district in 2025, one of the darkest centers of human trafficking in the world. After serving together on previous trips to places like Tanzania and Ecuador, Lori and Valerie reflect on what it looked like to step into such a heavy and broken environment. They discuss trauma-informed care, the reality of spiritual warfare, and the challenge of faithfully planting seeds they may never see grow. Through providing medical and dental care to nearly 300 women in Bangkok, their team witnessed how simple acts of service can open the door to share the hope and love of Christ. This is a powerful conversation about faithfulness in hard places and bringing light into the darkest corners of the world.

VIODRE is an enigmatic project formed in 2001 by Bryan Gilroy, Jared Turinsky, and Ryan Horn, known for a surreal and elusive discography on labels such as Hospital Productions, Cathartic Process, and Kalifornia Love Addiction. After years of near-silence, their recent return has carried the same unsettling, dream-charged energy that defined their early work, continuing to push their sound into strange and evocative territory. This interview was conducted at Red Light District in Far Rockaway, NY, shortly before their performance.Full episode at https://www.patreon.com/whitecentipedenoiseShop WCN label and distro: https://whitecentipedenoise.com/Support the show
A merciless serial killer terrorised women in the United Kingdom with a spate of brutal attacks, leaving police and forensic experts stumped. Now, almost 50 years later, forensics has learned, and built more advanced technologies that could've helped catch the killer sooner, and potentially saved lives. In this Rewind episode of Crime Insiders Forensics, former host Kathryn Fox sits down with Dr Marie Morelato to understand how forensics has evolved from this case, and to unpack the current strategies being employed to catch criminals and save lives. To celebrate the 400th episode of Holly Randall Unfiltered, I sat down with Kitana Montana—a bold, inked, and unapologetically dominant performer whose journey from Argentina to Amsterdam to Vegas is anything but ordinary. A former tattoo artist turned international sex goddess, Kitana shares how she discovered porn through her mother, her early days in the Red Light District, her love of femdom and exhibitionism, and how a single submissive client changed everything. From wild fan requests to shocking gang bangs, Kitana holds nothing back. She's fierce, funny, and ready to take over as a director herself. The far more censored version of the award-winning and unparalleled "A Mediocre Time with Tom and Dan." - "A Corporate Time" is a daily companion and terrestrial radio show heard nationally on iHeartRadio. It's silly.
Tom Rhodes is big in the Netherlands. Not literally. You'd have to be like seven feet tall to be considered big there. But he is popular. And he knows better than to visit the Red Light District because it's bad for your honor, or whatever. I guess Dutch people are kind of like Klingons.DISCLAIMER: Any promos, giveaways, or similar heard in Lost Episodes are no longer guaranteed to be valid. Between 1860 and 1925, tens of thousands of women worked in Dublin's Monto, the largest red light district in Europe. It was a world of narrow alleyways full of brothels busy with sex workers, at a time when the Catholic church was trying to establish ideas around what a woman should be. Hint: it was very different to the women of Monto. What was life like for the women who lived and worked in Monto? How did these 'poor unfortunates', as they were known, create a community and support each other amidst such hard times? And how did they influence fashion trends of the time?Joining Kate today is the fantastic Caroline West, author of Wrong Women: Selling Sex in Monto, Dublin's Forgotten Red Light District, which is available now. This episode was edited by Tom Delargy and produced by Stuart Beckwith. Send your thoughts, feelings, opinions and suggestions to 0892096423!This week's Friday guest is Dr. Caroline West, who is the author of Wrong Women: Selling Sex in Monto, Dublin's Forgotten Red Light District which is out now. I loved this book, which is a fascinating look into the women who ran Monto and the reality of life for women working within it. Caroline is a great guest, and I loved learning about this part of Dublin's history and how it connects to so many different areas of Irish life both then and now. Also includes me complaining about MAFS Australia being too much of a commitment because it's three hours a week while speaking on my podcast which is... three hours a week. The self awareness is... lacking. To support the podcast and access bonus episodes, join the community on Patreon here.Theme Song: HowDoILook, Pillow Queens Hosted on Acast. Several years ago I did an episode or two with the Historic New Orleans Collection about the Storyville red light district. They had an excellent small exhibit about Storyville. Well now, there is a whole museum dedicated to Storyville. I'm joined today by the museum's founder and curator, Claus Sadlier.

The epic journey begins! The Bowery Boys Podcast heads to old Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, to find traces of New Amsterdam, the Dutch settlement which became New York.We begin our journey at Amsterdam's Centraal Station and spend the day wandering the streets and canals, peeling back the centuries in search of New York's roots. Our tour guide for this adventure is Jaap Jacobs, Honorary Lecturer at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and the author of The Colony of New Netherland: A Dutch Settlement in Seventeenth-Century America.Jaap takes us around to several spots within the old medieval city -- Centrum, including the Red Light District -- weaving through the canals and along the harbor, in search of connections to New York's (and by extension, America's) past. This year marks the 400th anniversary of Dutch settlement in North America, led by the Dutch West India Company, a trading and exploration arm of the thriving Dutch empire. So our first big questions begin there:-- What was the Dutch Empire in 1624 when New Netherland was first settled? Was the colony a major part of it? Would Dutch people have even understood where New Amsterdam was?-- What's the difference between the Dutch East India Company and the Dutch West India Company?-- To what degree was New Amsterdam truly tolerant in terms of religion? Was it purely driving by profits and trading relationships with the area's native people like the Lenape?-- The prime export was the pelts of beavers and other North American animals. What happened to these thousands of pelts once they arrived in Amsterdam?-- How central were the Dutch to the emerging Atlantic slave trade? When did the first enslaved men and women arrive in New Amsterdam?-- And how are the Pilgrims tied in to all of this? Had they always been destined for the area of today's Massachusetts?Among the places we visit this episode -- the Maritime Museum, the Rijksmuseum, Amersham's oldest building Oude Kirk, the Schreierstoren (the Crying Tower) and many morePLUS: We get kicked out of a cloister!
