What does it look like to build a career across real estate, politics, life coaching, sports management, and media, and have it all make sense? This week on the Glow Up, Gyrl Podcast, Kyra sits down with Julia Hurley, dynamic entrepreneur, nationally recognized real estate broker, former elected official, author, and the founder of a sports management company helping athletes grow their brands. Julia has spent 14 years building a career that refuses to fit neatly into a box, and her latest book, Panic to Profit, is the playbook she created to help women do the same. This conversation is honest, direct, and full of the kind of no-nonsense wisdom that only comes from someone who has actually been in the arena. In this episode: How Julia beat an 18-year incumbent in his own backyard with no political experience Why everything she has built across industries feeds itself and how you can do the same The moment she went from real estate to coaching after realizing women need a life plan, not just a business plan Why 90% of the obstacles women face in business are emotional, not operational The women she finds most powerful to work with and why A breakdown of Panic to Profit and the sports-inspired framework inside Why women struggle to ask for things in business and what to do instead The hard truth about women gatekeeping each other and why it has to stop Whether you are building your first business or your fifth, this conversation is going to make you think differently about how everything you have done connects. Looks Unfamiliar is a podcast in which writer and occasional broadcaster Tim Worthington talks to a guest about some of the things that they remember that nobody else ever seems to.Joining Tim this time is writer David Quantick, who's trying to avoid having to resort to using a 'Time Bubble' to prove the existence of Timeslip, Black Hearts In Battersea by Joan Aiken, Elephant's Eggs In A Rhubarb Tree, Boxed by Mike Oldfield and Bright's Boffins. Along the way we'll be battling to stop the fiendish plots of The Dastardly Man and Captain Wind-Up Toy, debating whether it was worth getting a colour television to see a blue man behind a desk, explaining why Little Lord Fauntleroy was the Minions of 1890 and taking bets on who will get changed first out of Michael Palin putting on an Edwardian bathing suit and Paul McCartney dressing up as a Teddy Boy.You can find more editions of Looks Unfamiliar at http://timworthington.org/.If you enjoy Looks Unfamiliar, you can help to support the show by buying us a coffee here. Please make sure not to send that Mike Oldfield album that had a mug of coffee flying down Route 101 or whatever it was on the cover.

76 Why You Feel Stuck: You're Not Broken, You're Boxed In You're not stuck. I know it feels like you are — but I want to offer you a different word for it today. You're not stuck. You're boxed in. What if the reason change feels so hard isn't a flaw in you — not a lack of willpower, not some broken part you need to fix — but the room you've been standing in for far too long? In this episode I talk about how your environment quietly decides what feels normal, what feels possible, and what feels out of reach. And this isn't only about health — you can use this lens on your dreams, your work, your body, the version of yourself you keep almost becoming. Having lived in six countries, I've watched the same person feel completely stuck in one room and completely free in another. Each environment gives you a different set of permissions — and the longer you stay inside one box, the more its limits start to feel like the truth about you. Here's what we get into: Why "stuck" is usually the wrong diagnosis — and what's actually happening instead How your environment normalises exhaustion, overdrinking, overeating, and settling until they feel like "just adult life" Why your nervous system treats a big dream as risky when you've never seen anyone around you living it Why we all need cross-pollination: artists need bankers, mothers need women without children How to "leave the room" — not forever, not dramatically — long enough to remember other ways of living exist The problem isn't belonging somewhere. The problem is belonging only here. If your life feels small, repetitive, or uninspiring — the problem may not be your mindset. It might be the environment that only ever reflects the old version of you back to you. Forward this to someone who's stuck in the same patterns and quietly wanting more. So here's your one job this week: notice the box. Then go stand somewhere else, even briefly, and see what suddenly looks possible. That's the whole work.
A bombshell report reveals widespread fraud in the H-1B visa system, to the point that the entire labor market in many white-collar professions has been built upon fraud and corruption for a generation. But Trump and the GOP continue to fail us and refuse to pass a foreign worker moratorium in reconciliation. Instead of seizing the ultimate opportunity to tie immigration to the economy and boost domestic labor force participation, politicians are distracted by AI bailouts and Trump's special interests. We also dive deep into the current AI bubble — why tech giants are quietly backing away from generative AI code slop — and analyze the chaotic reality of U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East. From the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel to the heavy influence of Gulf state wealth, this is the comprehensive breakdown the establishment doesn't want you to hear. There is a needless schism on the Right over Israel, but the way I present the issue and the path forward today should harmonize all those who claim to want to put America First without supporting Islamists. Equip Foods Protein (grass-fed beef isolate, no seed oils, third-party tested) Code: BENAZADI - https://bit.ly/49xXaMq Keto Flex Revised by Ben Azadi (pre-order now, releases July 21st, includes exclusive bonus chapters as a downloadable PDF): https://bit.ly/4wKG1sM In this episode, Ben Azadi reveals the five foods he eliminated that ended his chronic cravings and led to losing 19 pounds in 30 days. The root issue is not willpower. It's hormones and inflammation. A 2019 NIH study by Kevin Hall had participants eating ultra-processed vs. whole foods at matched calories. On the ultra-processed diet, they ate 500 extra calories per day without realizing it. The food was driving the overconsumption, not a lack of discipline. The five foods to remove: Liquid sugar. Sodas, juices, sports drinks, and flavored coffee drinks don't register as fullness. The Harvard Nurses' Health Study found adding one sugary drink per day led to 358 extra calories consumed daily. Swap for black coffee, plain tea, or sparkling water. Ultra-processed breads and tortillas. Stripped of nutrition and engineered for shelf life, modern bread spikes blood sugar as much as a Snickers bar according to Dr. William Davis. Opt for fermented sourdough or sprouted grain, or remove bread entirely for 30 days. Boxed pastas and processed comfort foods. Hyper-palatable combinations of salt, sugar, fat, and starch that overstimulate the brain's reward centers while leaving the body nutritionally depleted. A follow-up to Hall's study found people eating these foods consumed up to 1,000 extra calories per day. Seed oil-laden dressings, sauces, and condiments. Soybean, canola, corn, sunflower, and related oils produce carcinogenic aldehydes during processing and are in roughly 80% of the food supply. Replace with avocado oil, extra virgin olive oil, grass-fed butter, ghee, coconut oil, beef tallow, or duck fat. Look for seed oil-free brands like Primal Kitchen and Chosen Foods. Alcohol. A 1992 New England Journal of Medicine study found moderate alcohol consumption drops fat oxidation by 70% for hours. The liver prioritizes clearing alcohol above all else, including fat burning, while simultaneously increasing appetite and lowering the brain's stop-eating signals. Most professionals using AI for content creation are making the same mistake: they're following the "box instructions" and getting bland, forgettable results that scream "AI-generated."In this episode, Wayne Pollock (Founder of the Law Firm Editorial Service) breaks down the perfect analogy for AI-assisted thought leadership: boxed brownie mix. Just like boxed brownies, your AI-assisted content can be basic and forgettable, or it can be impressive and memorable. It all depends on how much of yourself you add to the mix and whether you can "spice up" AI-generated content with your unique perspective and voice.====+ Learn more about Wayne Pollock, the host of Legally Contented and the founder of the Law Firm Editorial Service: https://www.linkedin.com/in/waynepollock+ Learn more about the Law Firm Editorial Service:http://www.lawfirmeditorialservice.com+ Do you have any idea how much money your firm is losing when its lawyers write thought-leadership marketing and business development content themselves?Learn how much with the Law Firm Editorial Service's Thought Leadership Cost Calculator:http://www.WriteLessBillMore.com+ Do you want to elevate your thought leadership, distinguish yourself from your competitors, and never again be your target clients' second choice? Our Legal Thought Leadership Accelerator is a FREE five-day educational email course, in which you will learn five advanced principles for conceptualizing and crafting revenue-generating legal thought leadership that positions you to be your target clients' top choice over your competitors (and the one the media regularly calls and conference organizers regularly put on stage):https://www.lawfirmeditorialservice.com/legal-thought-leadership-accelerator+ Check out blog posts and videos designed to help you and your colleagues improve their content marketing and thought-leadership marketing efforts:https://www.lawfirmeditorialservice.com/bloghttps://www.lawfirmeditorialservice.com/videos+ Do you have a question about content marketing or thought-leadership marketing you would like us to answer on a future Practice Pointer episode? In this Sustainable Wine Roundtable Member Interview podcast, I'm joined by Antonio Bertone, CEO and co-founder of Alileo Wines. Alileo strikes an interesting balance between old and new, offering natural wines produced using traditional methods, but packaged in a less conventional way. Their Sicilian varietals such as Grillo and Zibibbo are available in both bag-in-box format as well as 20L one-way kegs. We talk about the packaging decision-making process, the trade-offs that come with alternative formats, and how Alileo is working to change perceptions around boxed wine. With their bold slogan of 'Boxed Wine is Not a Crime', Antonio shares the unique storytelling opportunity packaging can offer and insights into effective consumer engagement.

This is part nine of a ten-part series from Garrett, a residential contractor on a remote forty-seven-acre property in the southern Appalachians of western North Carolina. On September 21, 2019, Garrett and his longtime friend Cliff hike to a ridge shoulder above the property at dusk to deliberately attempt wood knocks and a call blast. Cliff brings a baseball bat for striking and Garrett brings an audio recorder with a directional microphone. They set up about two hundred yards south of the bluff where Garrett had previously observed three creatures on the talus slope.Cliff's first three bat strikes on a dead oak produce a response within two minutes. A single heavy knock from the north, toward the bluff, at roughly a hundred and fifty yards. A second round of knocking draws two responses from the north and a third from the east, down the Bishop Creek drainage, confirming at least two separate individuals bracketing their position. Cliff identifies the two sources by their different acoustic signatures.Garrett then plays a Sierra Sounds vocalization through a Bluetooth speaker. After nearly four minutes of silence, the ridge produces three simultaneous responses. A sustained rising vocalization from the north at close range. A rapid series of barking tonal bursts from the east, closer than the previous knock. And a massive tree strike from the south, directly on their primary exit route back to the cabin. With three sides covered and only the western downslope open, Garrett directs their descent through trailless hardwood forest toward the meadow. Something parallels them on the north side, tapping position knocks coordinated with answering taps from the ridge behind them. Halfway down, both men experience strong infrasound, a subsonic vibration felt in the chest, teeth, and inner ear that produces disorientation and acute anxiety. A heavy branch snap from forty yards confirms proximity. At the tree line, all sounds and the infrasound cease simultaneously, and Garrett and Cliff cross the meadow to the cabin.Cliff tells Garrett he won't return to the property after dark and drives home the next morning. Garrett retrieves the recorder the following day and finds seven hours of post-encounter audio including knocking at 11:42 PM, a low vocalization at 1:15 AM, and clear heavy footsteps passing within ten feet of the recorder at 3:27 AM.The series concludes with Story Ten, in which Garrett discovers what Earl left behind and finally understands why the creatures have allowed him to stay.Have you experienced a Bigfoot sighting, Sasquatch encounter, Dogman experience, UFO sighting, or any unexplained cryptid or paranormal event deep in the woods? Hosts: Ed Jones (Owner – Nutrition World) & Clint Powell A variety of topics all related to living a healthy life Presented by: Nutrition World www.nutritionw.com Broadcasting from the Nooga Dentistry Studio www.noogadentistry.com Production of: Whitfield Media Group www.vitalhealthradio.com Show Summary & Time Stamps: Title: Saffron as “Nature's SSRI”, GLP-1 Side Effect Mitigation, Holistic Oral Health, & More [0:00:00] – Show Intro [0:01:44] – Ed's Fitness Goal & Using AI Ed's 4:00 a.m. gym routine and training structure. Goal: 14 weeks out from Chattanooga fitness/bodybuilding contest (men's classic over 50/55). Uses AI as a “thinking partner”: Uploads body and meal photos daily. Gets macro/meal feedback and accountability in ~7–8 minutes/day. Reports better progress in 3 weeks with AI than all of last year's prep. [0:05:08] – GLP‑1 / Weight‑Loss Drugs & Protein Strategy Conversation with Be Well Labs about GLP‑1/ozempic‑type drugs: ~1 in 8 people currently on weight‑loss meds; pill form may push toward 1 in 2. Concerns: long‑term side effects, muscle loss, “hijacking” normal physiology. Ed's mitigation tips for those on GLP‑1s: Aim for ~1 g protein per pound of body weight. Most will need two protein shakes/day plus weight training. [0:06:47] – Butyric Acid, Hydrogen Water & Sleep Gains Ed's last 3 weeks: More energy, best sleep/Oura Ring scores he's ever had (scores from ~71 → ~82). Two main changes: Butyric acid (from butter/fiber fermentation): 2 capsules in the morning. Supports gut lining, may have GLP‑1‑like effects. Hydrogen water: Uses a hydrogen bottle and tablets; must drink quickly after dissolving. Hypothesis: combination is improving gut health, inflammation, and overall well‑being. [0:10:18] – Dollar General “Stranded” Series New mini‑series concept: “What would Ed Jones do if stranded in a rural town and only had Dollar General for meals?” Finds ~12 foods (out of ~2000) he'd eat regularly. Message: even in limited environments (Dollar General, fast food), you can still find better choices. Content to appear on Instagram, Facebook, (possibly YouTube). [0:15:58] – Tallow, French Fries & Processed Carbs Rib & Loin (local BBQ restaurant) reportedly using beef tallow. Ed on fats: Prefers tallow (stable saturated fat) over seed/vegetable oils. Critiques decades of low‑fat dogma and resulting high‑carb intake and heart disease. Notes potato farmers discarding crops: Impact of GLP‑1 drugs on restaurant demand. Growing awareness of harm from processed carbs. Hydrogen‑rich “healing” waters story (German mine, Mexico, Japan) → dissolved molecular hydrogen theme. [0:22:17] – Oral Health, Tooth Powder & Mouth Microbiome Ed's dental routine: cleanings every 3 months. References his oral health e‑book (searchable via NutritionW.com). Product mention: Echo Dent Daily Care Tooth Powder: Chosen because it does not annihilate mouth bacteria. Key idea: chronic use of strong mouthwashes (even “natural” ones) may: Damage oral microbiome. Be linked to higher Alzheimer's risk via “bad” oral bacteria. Occasional disinfecting is fine (e.g., sore throat), but avoid twice‑daily “scorched earth” approach. [0:26:33] – Niacinamide, Glioblastoma & High Iron Study highlight: High‑dose niacin/niacinamide (B3) may support immune activity and short‑term outcomes in glioblastoma. Niacinamide boosts NAD (cellular energy/anti‑aging cofactor). Already used by dermatologists to help lower skin‑cancer risk. High iron / ferritin: Ferritin >100: likely inflammation or iron overload. Ferritin >200: pathological; associated with shorter lifespan. Action step: Test iron/ferritin (e.g., at Be Well Labs / beginwithlabs.com). If high, consider regular blood donation to lower iron. [0:34:42] – SSRIs & Antidepressants with Dr. Kurt Deering Guest: Dr. Curt Dearing, clinical pharmacist (30+ years). SSRIs discussed: Prozac, Celexa, Lexapro, Paxil, Zoloft. Effectiveness vs placebo: Placebo response in depression is high (~40%+). SSRIs only modestly better than placebo in many trials. Typical course: Weeks 1–2: patients often feel worse. Weeks 3–4: back to baseline. Weeks 4–6: if helpful, benefits show here. [0:40:44] – SSRI Side Effects, Withdrawal & Risks Common side effects: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, sweating, headaches. Sleep disturbance (insomnia or excessive sleepiness). Anxiety, jitteriness, tremors, dry mouth. Long‑term issues: Sexual dysfunction (very common). Weight changes (often weight gain). Withdrawal (if stopped abruptly): Anxiety, dizziness, flu‑like symptoms, insomnia. “Brain zaps” – electric‑shock sensations that strongly discourage abrupt stopping. Boxed warning: Increased suicidal thoughts/behaviors, especially 18–24‑year‑olds. [0:48:03] – Natural & Lifestyle Alternatives (Green Pharmacy) Strong caveat: never stop/taper SSRIs without coordinating with the prescribing clinician. Nutrient foundations: Vitamin D adequacy for mood and depression. Low‑dose lithium (as a micronutrient, e.g., lithium orotate): Supports brain health, reduces inflammation, may aid depression/anxiety/cognitive health. Omega‑3s, especially EPA, for mood support. Herbs & natural options: St. John's Wort, ashwagandha, saffron. Lifestyle interventions: Exercise (research shows it can match or beat standard depression care). Sunlight, sleep quality, mindfulness/prayer, overall holistic changes. Team approach: Add trainers, nutritionists, holistic practitioners alongside psychiatrists/MDs. [0:50:52] – Saffron as “Nature's SSRI” Clinical evidence: Meta‑analyses: saffron ≈ SSRIs in effect for mild–moderate depression. Faster onset (often 1–2 weeks). Side‑benefits: Heart health, anti‑inflammatory, lipid‑lowering. Cognitive support (including in Alzheimer's studies). PMS symptom relief. Eye health (age‑related macular degeneration support, intraocular pressure). Better sleep (duration and quality). Weight management (reduced appetite, body weight, waist circumference). Improved libido and sexual satisfaction (opposite of many SSRIs). [0:56:44] – Offers, Products & Closing WishGarden immune products: Immune boost for pregnancy. Kids' immune support formula (often mixed with honey for taste). Free bottle for the first 10 in‑store visitors mentioning the show (time‑limited). NoogaPodcasts.com: Clint promotes his local podcast network (crime, politics, adventure, health, faith, veterans, etc.). Fireside Herbicide: Plant‑desiccating herbicide that dehydrates weeds instead of poisoning soil. Less harmful to earthworms and soil life vs glyphosate products. Sign‑off: Radio airing on Sundays, podcast version (“Vital Health Radio”) drops Tuesdays. Thanks to listeners and mention of Nutrition World as primary sponsor. The post Radio Show / Podcast – April 5, 2026 first appeared on Vital Health Radio.

Growth looks glamorous from the outside. Until the summer never comes. Chad sits down with Stephanie Allen, co-founder of Airworks, to unpack what really happens when bold goals, big budgets, and leadership transitions collide with economic reality. Stephanie shares the raw truth behind scaling from gut instinct to structured systems, why their first revenue backslide in 15 years forced personal reinvestment, and how nearly losing momentum strengthened both their business and marriage. From navigating husband and wife leadership dynamics to redefining accountability, Stephanie reveals how raising the floor, not just the ceiling, is the secret to sustainable growth. They dive deep into EOS, the discomfort of holding people accountable, and why clarity is kindness. Stephanie also introduces her "AI barbell" philosophy, explaining how technology should strengthen human development, not replace it. This conversation is for leaders who want real growth, not just bigger numbers. It is about systems, ownership, resilience, and the courage to evolve when the plan fails. Will Donald Trump strike Iran? After General Dan Caine reportedly cautioned the President that a lack of munitions and support from allies could mean greater danger for U.S, speculation is mounting in Washington over whether Trump will proceed with a military attack on Iran. Freddy Gray is joined by Professor John Mearsheimer of the University of Chicago to assess what Trump is really planning – and what options he actually has. They discuss Iran's advancing nuclear programme, its ballistic missile capabilities, why Trump may be getting cold feet, and the extent of past American involvement in efforts at regime change in Tehran.Become a Spectator subscriber today to access this podcast without adverts. Ravi Gupta and Stephen Webber break down Congress's explosive vote to release the Epstein files as Trump abruptly reverses course at the last minute, raising questions about whether compromising material is being withheld. They analyze accusations from Mark Epstein that the files are already being scrubbed, Rep. Thomas Massie's threat to read names on the House floor, and the sweeping disclosure requirements included in the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Kander and Gupta also dive into the political chaos surrounding Speaker Mike Johnson's demand for last-minute changes that the Senate flatly rejected, Trump's meltdown when pressed on why he didn't release the files himself, and the escalating infighting on the right—from MTG's attacks on Trump to Megyn Kelly's soft-pedaling of Epstein's crimes to new reporting that the White House intervened on behalf of Andrew Tate. Plus, they discuss the stunning court ruling striking down Texas's redistricting maps after a DOJ-induced legal fiasco.
