This was a mish-mosh of a segment if you ask me. We talked about Boomer watching the games this weekend with the YouTube Sunday Ticket. A caller hit himself in the balls while golfing. The Bears are off to a disappointing start to the season and Justin Herbert is hurt. Will Levis will remain the quarterback in Tennessee but he threw another terrible pick yesterday. The Jets play the Broncos at 1pm on Sunday which is what you want if you're on the Jets. They played Monday night, Thursday night and you finally get a 1pm home game. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Giants beating the Browns. Boomer said Dak owns the Giants, so if the Giants want to turn this around they have to win Thursday night. Daniel Jones gave credit to the coaches. Malik Nabers said they need to play better in the second half. Al tried a new Malik Nabers song in the Warm Up and it stinks. Jerry went around the NFL yesterday and Antonio Pierce said some of his players made ‘business decisions'. The Mets beat the Phillies to take 2-of-3. Edwin Diaz pitched 2 innings for the save. Ohtani and Betts went back to back and walked it off for the Dodgers. In the final segment of the hour, the Yankees play-by-play radio job is down to 2 guys according to the NY Post: Dave Sims and Rickie Ricardo.
We try to get to the bottom of why Deion Sanders is so angry at CBS and find a few stories that could be the reason. Boomer shares a line he said to Deion on The NFL Today 21 years ago that Deion did not like. Boomer recalls working with Ray Lewis and Gio shares his favorite Ray Lewis memory, a TV Funhouse video on SNL. Jerry returns for an update and begins with Juan Soto's homer to get the Yankees started last night. The White Sox could have been pitching around Aaron Judge when he crushed a 3-0 pitch out of the strike zone for his 300th career HR. Emmanuel is still waiting for Rickie to give him his birthday facial. Ron Darling called out A's pitcher Joey Estes for showing up his infielder in the Mets win. Estes fired back postgame. Why was Evan tweeting about the Mets at 3:40am? A Mets prospect got hit square in the junk by a pitch. In the final segment of the hour, Gio has everyone guess which headline is real and only one person gets it right.
Hour 1 Everyone is in a good mood after both baseball teams won last night. Boomer still doesn't think the Yankees will pay Juan Soto what it will take to keep him. Gio believes the Yankees will make a fair offer but not the highest offer. The Mets will try to break the bank for Soto. Jerry is here for his first update of the day but first we discuss cruises and Gio's trip to Disney in early 2025. Aaron Judge hit his 300th career HR and the White Sox intentionally walked Juan Soto in front of Judge. Oswaldo Cabrera had a heads up play to score from second base on a fly ball. Francisco Lindor hit his 100th HR as a Met in a 9-1 win. JJ McCarthy is out for the season but Gio thinks that sitting out will help him in the long run. In the final segment of the hour, Gio was shocked to hear who CMac named as the best baseball player he's ever seen after arguing for someone else last year. Hour 2 CMac calls in to defend himself which leads to Jerry defending himself. Then we discuss an overnight caller who fascinates Gio. Jerry returns for an update but first Boomer shows Gio a gift they received from a listener. The White Sox had to choose between pitching to Juan Soto or Aaron Judge. They chose Judge and he hit his 300th career HR. Pete Alonso homered in a Mets win. David Peterson has been very good. The umpire in Tuesday night's Yankees/White Sox game was excellent. Chris “Mad Dog” Russo exploded over Team USA basketball winning a gold medal. Gio thinks Sam Darnold will have a very good year with the Vikings. In the final segment of the hour, Gio says Boomer is fascinated by natural disasters then realizes maybe he is too. Deion Sanders is not happy with CBS and won't talk to them. Hour 3 We try to get to the bottom of why Deion Sanders is so angry at CBS and find a few stories that could be the reason. Boomer shares a line he said to Deion on The NFL Today 21 years ago that Deion did not like. Boomer recalls working with Ray Lewis and Gio shares his favorite Ray Lewis memory, a TV Funhouse video on SNL. Why was Evan tweeting about the Mets at 3:40am? A Mets prospect got hit square in the junk by a pitch. In the final segment of the hour, Gio has everyone guess which headline is real and only one person gets it right. Hour 4 Boomer brings in gifts we recently received. A stingray expert calls in to tell us about their anatomy. He ends up taking an L because he only knows about freshwater stingrays. Then a caller from California with intimate knowledge of stingrays sends Boomer and Gio into uncontrollable fits of laughter. Jerry is here for his final update of the day and begins with Aaron Judge becoming the fastest player ever to reach 300 career HRs. Jerry has audio from a viral video of a woman who was not on the same page as her husband. Is it real or not? David Peterson, Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso carried the Mets to a win. The Moment of The Day involves Chris “Mad Dog” Russo exploding over Team USA winning the gold medal. In the final segment of the show, Gio wonders if he should read the Aaron Rodgers biography after being sent a copy. Gio looks back at a Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce prediction he made that appears to have a strong chance of coming true.
Both Brian Cashman and David Stearns made small improvements on deadline day without giving much up and Gio completely supports what the GMs did. Gio expects the Yankees to win the AL East and the Mets to be the NL's top Wild Card. Gerrit Cole was scratched with “general body fatigue” but was it really a stomach virus? Jazz Chisholm Jr. continued his hot start with two more homers for the Yankees last night. Could Mark Leiter Jr. take over the closer's role from Clay Holmes, who blew another one last night? Jerry is here for his first update and begins with the Yankees win. Boomer thinks Rickie Ricardo's call of Jazz Chisholm's home run was a little much but loves the energy. Boomer says Jazz Chisholm looks like the greatest ever trade deadline addition for the Yankees. Saying “Jazz Chisholm” tripped up Justin Shackil and Chris McMonigle broke down the dilemma for broadcasters. The Mets shutout the Twins. Robert Saleh said he doesn't plan to play Aaron Rodgers in the preseason but left the door open for the final game. Sal Licata had some dots connected for him. Boomer got his guy as Precious Achiuwa is back with the Knicks. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer and Gio discuss the report that the Yankees backed out of a deal for Jack Flaherty due to injury concerns. Gio does not blame Cashman for walking away from that deal.
As we get set to turn the calendar to August, Boomer and Gio look at the Giants and Jets odds within their divisions and conferences this season. Vegas doesn't think much of the Giants chances. Then they go through what hyped up teams and QBs they believe in. Things have worked out for Jared Goff in Detroit. Jerry returns for an update but first he tells us about Joe B and JJ backing out of today's golf date with Jerry and CLo. Boomer and Gio have heard stories they can't believe about JJ's golf game. The Mets had a practical approach at the trade deadline and then beat the Twins 2-0. Jazz Chisholm led the Yankees to their fourth straight win and second over the Phillies. Chisholm loves being a Yankee. What will Aaron Boone's nickname for Chisholm be? Rickie Ricardo was fired up by some stellar, game-saving defensive plays. It doesn't sound like Zach Wilson is off to a hot start in Denver. Could this be the year it all goes south for the Cowboys? In the final segment of the hour, Gio asks if any Olympic sports could get a big bump from this summer's games. He and Boomer discuss the popularity of the Olympics.

Gio does not blame Cashman for walking away from that deal. Hour 2 The last episode of Hard Knocks felt like a propaganda-filled “thanks for doing this” from HBO to the Giants. The Jets did call the Giants to try and trade up to 6. Who did the Jets want at 6? Probably Malik Nabers or Rome Odunze. Everyone around here deserves a building better than MetLife Stadium. How about a new MSG with a sphere top over the West Side Highway? The Giants have a game-changer at WR for the first time in years. Phil Simms blames Joe Klecko for his bad knees. There are too many busts in the NFL Draft for teams to applaud after every pick. We rewatch the Jets first phone call to Zach Wilson when they drafted him. Jerry is back for an update but first we discuss famous male gymnasts in Team USA's history. Shaun Morash did not take the news of Gerrit Cole being scratched very well. Rickie Ricardo almost slipped up saying Jazz Chisholm's name. Rickie told Suzyn Waldman about his idea to gift Emmanuel Berbari a facial for his birthday. In the final segment of the hour, Gio had a teachable moment yesterday with his daughter and a dying bird. Where did the word “jism” originate? Hour 3 As we get set to turn the calendar to August, Boomer and Gio look at the Giants and Jets odds within their divisions and conferences this season. In the final segment of the hour, Gio asks if any Olympic sports could get a big bump from this summer's games. He and Boomer discuss the popularity of the Olympics. Hour 4 The guys do more Olympics talk and figure out what events they will watch. There was a movie made by Olympians in the 80s. Audiences loved it but critics did not. A caller thinks the Jets will stink because of their offensive line. Boomer explains part of the difficulty with offensive line play. He still thinks Davante Adams will be traded to the Jets. The AFC West has two awful teams. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and begins with Jazz Chisholm's big night powering the Yankees to a win in Philly. The Mets are about to embark on a crazy road trip. The Moment of The Day involves isolated and manipulated audio. In the final segment of the day, Gio brings up an idea Zoo had off air that he found crazy. What Olympic events could we compete in given 10 years to train?
