He felt it was not something for him. He liked where he was at that time in his career and wanted to continue working sports and hosting the Olympics.Bob also talks about the people who helped him and mentored him along the way.We also take a look back at some moments in his career which really opened him up to opportunities. Some of the highlights:1988 World Series and the "tease" for the opening of game two of the World Series after Kirk Gibson had hit the homerun. Great story on how that moment came together.Calling the elevator races and dog sled races on "Late Night with David Letterman".Ahmad Rashad proposal on TV during "NFL Live".Being in the movie Cars as Bob Cutlass. It is a great segment to listen to the back stories.

Sports journalism has long been a male-dominated field. According to last year's Associated Press Sports Editors Racial and Gender Report Card, less than 15% of sports reporters in the U.S. and Canada are women. One aspiring sports journalist hoping to be a part of improving that statistic is high school sophomore Mahi Jariwala from Danville, who created and hosts her own sports podcast “She Can Ball.” As part of KQED's annual Youth Takeover week, Jariwala joins Alexis Madrigal to co-host Forum's conversation with Bay Area sports journalists Kerith Burke and Amy Gutierrez, plus ESPN's Mina Kimes and MLB Network's Keiana Martin, about navigating the male-dominated sports media industry and reporting on your favorite sports teams.

Jared and Tyler are running it back for another tag-team episode as Pete is at the Bruins game and Pat has a huge dinner he can't miss. On the bright side Jake is back from the dead. On the not so bright side the Red Sox offense is nowhere to be found. Jared and Tyler break down the disaster that was the Toronto series in which the Blue Jays took three out of four from the Red Sox. What a kick in the dick that was. They talk about the lack of offense, the bullpen blowing Game 2 and how Tanner Houck being there would've allowed the Red Sox to play that game differently, the Red Sox batting statistics without Xander and J.D. in the lineup, the level of panic we should have about this team right now, and where the Red Sox record could be at if a couple things went differently over the past week. We also look ahead to the Baltimore series and declare it a must sweep across the board. At the end of the episode, Jared dives into what it was like to make an appearance on MLB Network today and fulfill a lifelong goal of his. This also leads to discussion about his career journey in general and the different experiences, challenges, and choices he made that got him to where he is today. We close out by mentioning that this Sunday will be the first in-studio podcast with Jared, Pete, Tyler, and Jake all in-studio and Pat being remote so keep an eye out for that one Sunday night/Monday morning!
