How long will you limp between two opinions? In 1 Kings 18, Elijah confronts Israel with a question that still echoes today: Will you follow God completely, or will you continue trying to serve two masters? On Mount Carmel, God exposes the emptiness of false gods and demonstrates His unmatched power and faithfulness. In this message, we explore the danger of divided allegiance, the futility of idols that promise much but deliver nothing, and the reality that God alone is worthy of our complete devotion. While false gods always take and never give, the Lord powerfully reveals Himself as the One who saves, provides, and transforms lives. Just as Elijah called Israel to make a decision, every person must answer the same question today: Who will you serve?

Pastor Stephen taught through Genesis 32–33, where Jacob's life reminds us that Christians often move forward with a limp—marked by weakness, yet sustained by God's grace. Even in our struggles, we hold fast to the hope we have in Christ, our sure and steadfast anchor, who faithfully carries us to the end.

The sermon identifies ten major stressors that can create lifelong emotional damage, from death and divorce to addiction and betrayal, yet challenges us to choose between victim and victor mentality. Jacob's experience teaches us that our scars don't disqualify us from God's purpose; instead, they become evidence that we've wrestled through the night and emerged changed. The most compelling insight is Jacob's refusal to let go until he received a blessing, demonstrating the kind of tenacity we need in our own spiritual battles. This message reminds us that the strongest testimonies come not from those who never struggled, but from those who kept walking after the struggle, limping their way into victory. We're called to be examples for the next generation, showing them what perseverance looks like when we refuse to let hardship define us as victims but instead allow it to refine us as victors.
