Scripture Reading: Acts 9:32-10:8 9:32 Now as Peter was traveling around from place to place, he also came down to the saints who lived in Lydda. 9:33 He found there a man named Aeneas who had been confined to a mattress for eight years because he was paralyzed. 9:34 Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Get up and make your own bed!” And immediately he got up. 9:35 All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord. 9:36 Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which in translation means Dorcas). She was continually doing good deeds and acts of charity. 9:37 At that time she became sick and died. When they had washed her body, they placed it in an upstairs room. 9:38 Because Lydda was near Joppa, when the disciples heard that Peter was there, they sent two men to him and urged him, “Come to us without delay.” 9:39 So Peter got up and went with them, and when he arrived they brought him to the upper room. All the widows stood beside him, crying and showing him the tunics and other clothing Dorcas used to make while she was with them. 9:40 But Peter sent them all outside, knelt down, and prayed. Turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” Then she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. 9:41 He gave her his hand and helped her get up. Then he called the saints and widows and presented her alive. 9:42 This became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord. 9:43 So Peter stayed many days in Joppa with a man named Simon, a tanner.10:1 Now there was a man in Caesarea named Cornelius, a centurion of what was known as the Italian Cohort. 10:2 He was a devout, God-fearing man, as was all his household; he did many acts of charity for the people and prayed to God regularly. 10:3 About three o'clock one afternoon he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God who came in and said to him, “Cornelius.” 10:4 Staring at him and becoming greatly afraid, Cornelius replied, “What is it, Lord?” The angel said to him, “Your prayers and your acts of charity have gone up as a memorial before God. 10:5 Now send men to Joppa and summon a man named Simon, who is called Peter. 10:6 This man is staying as a guest with a man named Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea.” 10:7 When the angel who had spoken to him departed, Cornelius called two of his personal servants and a devout soldier from among those who served him, 10:8 and when he had explained everything to them, he sent them to Joppa. In Acts 12 evil King Herod throws Peter in jail but the night before his trial an angel of the Lord comes to him and miraculously helps him escape while the church is earnestly praying.  The furious King Herod goes to Cesarea and delivers a public address from his throne as the people chant that he is a god.  Because Herod did not give praise to the one true God, he was struck down by an angel and died.  But the Word of God continued to flourish.Want to be part of what God is doing through the Revelations Podcast? In the Gospel of Luke Chapter 07, Jesus is impressed with the faith of a Roman Officer, gives an update and encouragement to John the Baptist, and is anointed by a sinful woman. Great Chapter!

Transforming Perspective:  Our need to allow our Faith to be developed, grow and increase, so to respond in Faith believing the impossible, when Jesus expects.The Bible reveals many narratives of true events which God desired Faith to believe Him.Abraham of old age, in Faith believing the impossible that his wife's womb being past childbearing would receive his seed to bring  forth a son.Noah in Faith, believing the impossible gathered tools, and wood to build a ship, having neither seen rain nor understood a flood, built a ship prepared to withstand rushing mighty waters.Jesus' ministry on earth included many miraculous works, so that followers would become embodiments of Faith, trusting Him in every circumstance.The Centurion, a Roman Officer sought Jesus believing in His Supremacy and Authority, in Faith believed his child would be healed upon Jesus' Word.A Woman, bearing an unapproachable affliction sought Jesus, hearing of His Authority and believing in the impossible risked public scrutiny to receive healing.Biblical Principle: Jesus Christ being the author and finisher of our Faith, develops our Faith,  so we would respond, believing His Lordship over all of our impossible circumstances. Read Matthew 8:5-13. Do you have to remove some of your usual furniture and ornaments to make room for your Christmas tree and decorations? Jesus’ nativity would find no room in our house if we didn’t remove some ornaments first! Suffering, failure and loss of control can often help us to make room for Jesus inside of us. In our story today, it was the Roman Officer’s servants terrible illness that brought the centurion out of his comfort zone to invite Jesus into his home. Unheard of for an occupying army, I’m sure! The pursuit of happiness is self-centred and easily toppled by the ups and downs of life. Both sides of life – light and darkness – are necessary to help us grow and mature. In fact, I have found my failures have much more to teach me than my successes do! Our own suffering and our capacity to share in the suffering of others has an immense capacity to ensure we have made room for Jesus in our lives. When problems arise, let’s learn to allow it to transform us rather than try to resist it. Let’s make more room for God. THINK IT OVER Think about the following: • What are you attached to in life that you need to let go of to make more room for God?

Good Day to you all! Thank You for tuning in to this episode. In this episode I read from Day 5 of Good New For All People a Devotional in the YouVersion Bible App by John M Perkins. We read the story of the apostle Peter, God had a mission for Him, He was preparing Peter to meet with a Roman Officer named Cornelius. Cornelius was a God-fearing man and was devout but did not know about Jesus Christ and the message of salvation. Peter like some of us was not familiar with going to minister to someone who was not from the same background He was from. Peter was sent a vision from God of ceremonially unclean animals on a sheet spread out from heaven from all four corners. This symbolizes the different cultures and races that are apart of the entire world we live in. Peter had to be shown that God's message has to be shared with ALL PEOPLE from every background, race, origin, culture, gender. The Church has to be the example for the world to see. Let's pray that we do not let our differences be a barrier from sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and His wonderful gift of Salvation and Mercy to ALL PEOPLE. God provides a unlikely way out of Paul's trouble.

There is a forgotten figure in the Crucifixion-Resurrection drama. A remarkable man who came to a most-remarkable conclusion. As you will hear in this PODCAST, I am referring to the Roman officer who actually crucified Jesus. At the conclusion of the crucifixion, this Roman officer -- who had literally just killed Christ -- made this stunning statement: “This man truly was the Son of God!” Now, I have to ask the questions: How in the world did he come to this conclusion? This Roman? This executioner? This worshipper of many gods? This witness to, and participant in, more crucifixions than he could count? What was it about this crucifixion that set it apart from all the others over which he, as a commander of 100 elite Roman troops, presided? What pushed him over the line from a polytheist to a monotheist? A worshiper of Caesar as god into a worshiper of Jesus as God? And what was it exactly that convinced him beyond the shadow of any doubt that the man he had just executed was in fact Almighty God? I am profoundly grateful to professors Schmidt, Vanderlaan, Gundry, along with author Lloyd C. Douglas who wrote a wonderfully insightful historical novel, The Robe, for gently nudging my thinking in the direction to ask and now answer these intriguing questions. Questions about what-in-the-world convinced this Roman Officer to conclude that the man he just crucified was not just a god, but as he exclaimed, “This man truly was the Son of God!” What did he see that we, not being Roman, might miss? In order to answer these questions, I need to take you on a little trip, back in time many centuries, and to the East many thousands of miles, to Rome itself. There, we will attend the grandest, gaudiest, and most glorious of spectacular events. All to answer the question, What caused this elite Roman military officer to conclude that the man he just executed was indeed “the Son of God”?
