Simon Kyne draws on the Catechism, Holy Scripture and the teachings of the Church to provide an introduction to the virtue of Christian Trust. In this talk, we learn how the history of Salvation can be viewed as the long pursuit by God to restore holy trust in the hearts of believers. From Genesis, through Exodus, through the Psalms, to the Gospel Accounts of the Crucifixion and the Resurrection, we discover that trust in God was what was broken in our Original Fall, and trust in God was restored by Jesus's Ultimate Sacrifice. This talk concludes by invoking the Litany of Trust, composed by the religious community of the Sisters of Life. We pray this talk blesses you as much as it did us.Reflection Questions: Reflect on the conversion of heart, and the choice to trust, as embedded in the Gospel account of Mary Magdalene at the Tomb: See John 20:1-20What stands out to you, and what is God offering to you today through this Scripture? How is God calling you into deeper Christian trust? Jesus has raised Lazarus from the dead. He has been anointed by Mary. Now he begins his journey to Jerusalem for the Passover festival. This event is recorded in all four Gospel Accounts and the "Triumphal Entry" as, it´s now called, fulfills different Old Testament prophecies. Thomas Smoak, our Interim Pastor, looks at the events and details of Jesus, riding on the foul of a donkey, being accepted and hailed by crowds, mocked by some, and watched by others. There were shouts of "Hosanna!" (Save us!), "King Jesus", palm branches waving and more. What a sight. Why would they follow Jesus? Why do you follow Jesus? Do you follow Jesus? The Gospel Accounts of Jesus' Resurrection
"He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.” - Matthew 28:1-15 “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.” - Mark 16:1-13 “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.” - Luke 24:1-35 "But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb. And she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet. They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” - John 20 "For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed." - 1 Corinthians 15 --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/garrett-ashley-mullet/message

Episode 149 - Discrepancies in the Gospel Accounts of Jesus' Final Week by Sunnybrook Christian Church
Transforming Perspective: Our need to allow our Faith to be developed, grow and increase, so to respond in Faith believing the impossible, when Jesus expects. The Bible reveals many narratives of true events which God desired Faith to believe Him.Abraham of old age, in Faith believing the impossible that his wife's womb being past childbearing would receive his seed to bring forth a son.Noah in Faith, believing the impossible gathered tools, and wood to build a ship, having neither seen rain nor understood a flood, built a ship prepared to withstand rushing mighty waters.Jesus' ministry on earth included many miraculous works, so that followers would become embodiments of Faith, trusting Him in every circumstance. The Centurion, a Roman Officer sought Jesus believing in His Supremacy and Authority, in Faith believed his child would be healed upon Jesus' Word.A Woman, bearing an unapproachable affliction sought Jesus, hearing of His Authority and believing in the impossible risked public scrutiny to receive healing.Biblical Principle: Jesus Christ being the author and finisher of our Faith, develops our Faith, so we would respond, believing His Lordship over all of our impossible circumstances. Bible References:Old Testament: The Book of Genesis Chapters 6 -9 and Chapters 17 and 18 verses 1-18.New Testament: Gospel Accounts of Matthew Chapter 8 verses 5-18. Gospel Accounts of Luke Chapter 8 verses 43 - 48.
Dealing With Discrepancies In The 4 Gospel Accounts, and Emphases of Each Gospel Account Key Points: We would EXPECT discrepancies from 4 separate accounts of a person's life. Yet the accounts, combined, paint an honest picture of the life and divinity of Christ. Matthew-written to a JEWISH (Jewish convert) audience, to show that Jesus is the promised Jewish messiah. Mark-written to Christians in Rome. “Peter's Gospel.” Emphasises Jesus' ACTIONS and his HUMANITY. “Suffering Servant.” Source document for Matthew and Luke. Luke-written for GENTILES. Emphasises:Kingdom is for ALL. Women in high esteem. Treatment of poor. Holy Spirit presence. Jesus' prayer life. Matthew, Mark, Luke-“Synoptic.” John- Emphasises: Jesus' DIVINITY. (NOT “Suffering Servant”, He's always in control.) Most symbolism, double meanings, numerology. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/catholicbiblestudy/support

The Cale Clarke Show - Today's issues from a Catholic perspective.
Actress and producer Roma Downey joins Cale to discuss the new film “Resurrection”. Do the four gospels contradict one another about the rising of Jesus from the dead? The answer is no. Cale explains why.
Join Pastor Cameron as he looks at the second proof of the Resurrection - the fact that there are slight variations between the different Gospel accounts on what happened the day Jesus rose. Though these variations are easily reconciled, they are often used as proof that the resurrection is false, when in reality the fact that there are minor differences is proof that the various writers were recording real, raw history and not a sanitized, made-up event!

On today's Bible Answer Man broadcast from (03/02/20), Hank discusses our new radio offer that he really wants you to get—Fragments of Truth: Ancient Documents, New Discoveries, a film where Dr. Craig Evans tracks down the most ancient New Testament manuscripts and highlights groundbreaking new evidence, demonstrating that the case for the reliability of the New Testament manuscripts is stronger than ever. Truly as in football, the best offense is a good defense. And so Hank gives a small sample of the offense of the Bible deniers, highlighting their attempts to undermine the credibility of the biblical manuscripts. The offense is relentless, but where is the defense? Well as it turns out the defense proffered in Fragments of Truth is nothing short of world-class. Says Hank, it's an incredible video that will bolster your faith and give you a defense for the faith once for all delivered to the saints. In the second segment, Hank discusses the matter of Gospel accounts contradicting one another—one of the most frequently cited alleged contradictions in the Bible. Hank lays out four facts that dispel this contradiction myth surrounding the four Gospels concerning Jesus Christ.

If you've been listening for a while now, you know that this topic has been brushed up against once or twice in the past. As Peter likes to say for the Free-for-All, though, this time they're going to settle the question once and for all. Before arriving at the main topic, however, Mr. Seeger joins in the much awaited 2019 MLB Let the Bird Fly! preview! (Some of that previous sentence may have been embellishment.) A big thanks to Mr. Seeger for taking the time to join us again. We definitely enjoyed the conversation, and we hope y'all do as well!
