So if we are tempted to go a way opposite to that which we read in the New Testament Bible, we know we cannot go to God that opposite way. Psalm 78:49 HE (God) cast upon them the fierceness of HIS anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them. John 8:44 Jesus said to the Jews who sought to kill Him: Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. Revelation 3:5 Jesus says: He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before MY Father, and before HIS angels. Revelation 22:12-15 Jesus says: And, behold, I come quickly; and MY reward is with ME, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14 Blessed are they that do HIS commandments (God's commandments), that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. I Corinthians 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (homosexuals), nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. (This podcast was previously recorded and published on August 31, 2020) Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... During the last days, many will grow cold. They are like dead men walking. And they do not realize they are asleep to the happenings around them. They grow cold to the Word of God and become numbed by that which they choose to see and hear. A woman in our church group tried to follow a scripture by her own wisdom rather than turning to God. This is deadly! I spoke with her about this. Several years ago, she gave some testimonies showing what the Spirit of God told her as HE taught her. But in the recent story, she was just following her own flesh (dead) and she didn't recognize what she was doing. We really have to work to stay awake ... for iniquity abounds today and if we allow ourselves to sit among church friends who will not follow God we will also fall asleep with them and become as dead, just going through the motions ... or living in fear and reacting to that fear. I've seen a woman in our church group be turned over to a reprobate mind by failing to follow the Spirit of God when HE brought ideas to her mind and by following her own fleshly ideas which were devilish. Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; I work at my salvation daily and even then I'm sometimes fearful and have need for extra meditation in scriptures to hold to the way of God. Some of you do nothing but attend church. And you don't even recognize when that church group goes in a way opposite to the scriptures in the New Testament Bible! You have no idea your name can be blotted out of the book of life. James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. If we approve the sins of this world and give support to those who sin in such, then we become the enemy of God. At the judgment seat of Christ we will be judged by the views God presents in the New Testament Bible and whether or not we agree with God's views as we live on this present earth. * Romans 1:26-28 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; * Mark 10:11-12 And HE (Jesus) saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery. * I Cor. 7:10-11 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. * Mt. 5:32 Jesus says: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. - The faithful wife who is divorced by her husband will commit adultery if she remarries but her husband who divorced the faithful wife will be the cause of her adultery. - The man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery. * I Cor. 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. * I Cor. 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? If we support those people who are doing these things and show ourselves friends to them in their acts, we become an enemy to God. 2 John vv. 8-11 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. I Timothy 5:22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.

(Initially published September 23, 2024) Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... No man knows the day or hour Jesus will return but we do know seasons. As the wickedness increases by people of this world and as the churches cast aside scripture, we know the end is soon. We are made "wise" unto salvation by the Holy Scripture, the Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
(Initially published April 21, 2024) Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... I was born again on August 5, 1975. Shortly after that, I was asleep in the night when God transported me into heaven, similar to the example given in 2 Corinthians 12. I was with God and Christ and the Holy Spirit. I saw no images. It was a spiritual experience. At that time I was "merged into the body of Jesus", made one with the word of God, God and the Holy Spirit witnessing. A few nights later, the exact same thing happened to me again. I thought this happened to all who were born again. When I found that was not the case, I didn't know why this had happened to me. Later I was reading a book entitled Exodus, and the author said sometime when God has a special calling for someone HE will often cause a "special" thing to happen like Moses and the burning bush. For the next 5 years God prepared me for the ministry I was to do on this earth, apostle and prophet. God showed me apostles have an anointing to deal with scripture and they will try to cause churches to abide by the NT scriptures. Prophets deliver messages, especially corrections, to the church people and the ministers. Prophets are often also shown things to come.

we continue in our celebration of the resurrection of Jesus again this weekend. One of the hymns we will be singing this weekend is a German hymn from the 1700's written by Johann Moller. This hymn weaves in many New Testament Bible passages and does a beautiful job of showing us what the resurrection of Jesus actually means for us. As we saw two weeks ago, this hymn also begins and ends each verse with the emphatic declaration: "I am content!" The death and resurrection of Jesus is able to give us greater contentment than the knowledge that He cares for our physical needs. He cares even more about our spiritual needs. To guarantee this Jesus "fulfilled the law of God for me" (v.1). In addition to His perfect life, Jesus also paid our sin debt through His own death on Calvary's cross. Then He rose from the dead, bringing death into subjection to Him and releasing believers from its power. Jesus is my Lord and is a good and gracious leader and ruler who desires and accomplishing "my soul's release" (v.3), and promises to bring us to Heaven. He is also the Light of the World, which offers sinners "sweet comfort, hope and peace" (v.4). Finally we return to the topic of death. Through His own death, Jesus has sactified death and the grave of His saints, and in the resurrection from the dead will destroy the power of death over His redeemed children. In the resurrection from death "we shall always be with the Lord" (1 Thessalonians 4:17). Yes, "I am content!" The resurrection of Jesus gives the greatest hope and peace! Join us in our study of this hymn and as we join to sing this hymn in our worship this weekend. Christ's resurrection gives us the greatest contentment of all!

This weekend we continue in our celebration of the resurrection of Jesus in the Season of Easter. One of the hymns we will be singing this weekend is a German hymn from the 1700's written by Christian Gellert. This hymn weaves in many New Testament Bible passages and does a beautiful job of showing us what the resurrection of Jesus actually means for us. Each verse begins with the emphatic declaration: "Jesus Lives!" and ends with the statement: "This shall be my confidence!" What does the resurrection of Jesus mean? "Death no longer can appal [horrify] me" (verse 1). Because Jesus lives, we will live also. It means "I shall go where He is gone" (v.2). Jesus has finished His work and ascended into heaven. And He will return and bring us there as well. It also means "For me He died" (verse 3) so I will live for Jesus, just as the Apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:15: “and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again." It means "God will be a sure Defense" (verse 4), and "neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:39). Finally, it means "Now is death but the gate of life immortal" (verse 5). Jesus has defeated death and now it is simply the door which leads us to the presence of our Savior in eternity. Yes, "Jesus lives! This shall be my confidence!" The resurrection of Jesus is not myth. It is not just some historical event. It has significant meaning for us today, and for eternity. Join us as celebrate the rich meaning of Christ's resurrection from the dead and as join our hearts and lips to give Him praise and glory for that victory over death!

This one is like drinking from a chocolate fountain. Dr. Joe Dongell (Asbury Theological Seminary), who is not just a New Testament Bible scholar but a legit theologian. In this podcast, he gives us his best thinking on the biblical notion of love, and helps us understand love as the center of everything. We are in the final stretch of a very contentious presidential cycle. The two candidates vying for American votes couldn't be more different than day and night, and we're not talking about race or gender. They represent two almost diametrically opposite political views and two different visions for the future of the United States of America. What's more challenging for people of the Christian faith is the question, "How can you be a witness to the gospel in casting your vote when neither party or candidate is fully committed to Christian values?" Dr. James Spencer advises that they do what Jesus said to His disciples, "I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves." In other words, be informed but still bow to the authority of God to whom also the government is under, even if it doesn't operate that way. Moody Center in Northfield, MA, talks about his new book written for just a moment as this, "Serpents and Doves: Christians, Politics, and the Art of Bearing Witness."
