Hey, good afternoon from Engadget! It's Monday, November 23rd. I'm Imran Sheikh, and here's what's happening in the world of technology. You might have an easier time deciding on a Google Assistant smart display this Black Friday. Lenovo's Smart Clock is on sale now at Best Buy for $35, an all-time low and less than half its original $80 asking price. You can get it for the same price at Walmart.
The Smart Clock Essential really blurs smart display lines. Aesthetics aside, Lenovo's news device probably has more in common with the Echo Dot with Clock than it does the company's first generation Smart Clock. In fact, at $50, it's actually $10 less expensive than Amazon's offering. Lenovo Smart Clock review Essentially the Essential is a […]

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. There a lot to like with the new Lenovo Smart Clock. It features Google Assistant …is small enough to be unobtrusive on your nightstand…eliminates the camera…which would be inappropriate for the setting…and is nicely styled...

Andrew Martonik, and Alex Dobie host the inaugural episode of the Alarm Clock Central Podcast. Not really, but they do look at Lenovo's cool little Smart Clock. They also discuss Galaxy Note 10 rumors. Renders have recently leaked and there's no headphone jack to be found. What will differentiate the Note 10 from S10 models this year? S Pen for sure, but probably not much else. Alex shares his experiences using the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G in London, and they chat about Android Q Beta 4. One final note — be on the lookout for a bonus episode of the show that covers all the latest news about Google Stadia! This week thanks to Netgear and Uniden, Stephen and Trevor talk through the tech news of the week, including the launch of 5G looking at a few of the new devices available at Telstra. They wear and test the Bose Frames - sunglasses with built in speakers. Lenovo's Smart Clock is a winner with the blokes, There's a new iPod Touch out, Intel has a vision for the laptop of the future, Stephen has advice to keep your eyes on track plus the Minute reviews
Telstra's blazing 5G demonstration with the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, we’ll also look at the HTC 5G Hub which has also been launched on the Telstra 5G, TCL to release its 8K TV in Australia, we’ll check out the new Google Pixel 3a smartphone, we’ll run our eye over the Lenovo Smart Clock and the Aura Scanner that can also double as a desk lamp and we’ll wrap things up with the Tech Guide Help Desk.
In this week's episode, we talk through quite a few things, but there is a clear theme that runs throughout the entire episode: the app gap. Chrome OS as an ecosystem is slowly overcoming these missing pieces in the form of a proper video editor in Adobe Premiere Rush and through an upcoming ability to run containered, legacy Windows apps with the help of Droplet Computing. Those two things are worth a ton of discussion as they remove the barrier of entry for many users and make the adoption of Chromebooks a much easier transition for those people who "just need that one app." In addition, we discuss the importance of the Pixel 3a as not just an affordable phone in Google's Pixel lineup, but as a possible harbinger of a future where Google sees the importance of high-quality, low cost hardware for Chromebooks from the #madebyGoogle brand as well. While discussing hardware, we also cover the latest smart device, the Lenovo Smart Clock which we have in the office for review. NOTABLE LINKS: Droplet Computing Is Back!
