At his first Fed meeting as chair, Kevin Warsh signaled a more hawkish stance focused squarely on inflation, while launching a sweeping reform agenda. Policymakers are split between holding and potentially hiking, with strong emphasis on restoring price stability. Warsh introduced a significant shift in Fed governance and communication: shorter statements, less forward guidance, and five task forces aimed at rethinking policy frameworks. Liz Ann Sonders and Collin Martin explore the implications of that shift, particularly the risk that reduced transparency could lead to greater market volatility as investors react more sharply to incoming data. They also assess market dynamics: Rising short-term yields pressured equities, while longer-term yields may remain range-bound if inflation expectations stabilize. Finally, they offer practical portfolio takeaways—emphasizing diversification within equities, a focus on quality and earnings strength, and a disciplined approach to asset allocation in a higher-rate, more-uncertain policy regime.

Why should we read the Bible as part of growing our relationship with God?
God desires that our lives producefruit. Taketime to read the entire chapter of John 15. It is in this chapter that Jesus isin the upper room with His disciples, and one of the things He speaks of thereis abiding in Him. If you abide in Him, He says that you will bear fruit. Inverse 5, “I am the vine, and you are the branches. He who abides in Me, andI in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” Inverse 8, He goes on to say, “By this My Father is glorified, that you bearmuch fruit; so you will be My disciples.” Then verse 16: “You didnot choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bearfruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Fatherin My name He may give you.” Wefind that the desire of the Father, the desire of Jesus Christ, is that weabide in Him and live a life that bears fruit—not just activity. So many of usbecome so active doing things for the Lord that we try to produce fruit by whatwe do. Activity is not the same as fruitfulness. We get so busy that weactually forget to take time to abide in Christ, to fellowship with Him, and toremember that our strength, grace, and power come from Him alone. Thisis real spiritual fruit. Remember Galatians 5:22: “The fruit of the Spiritis love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, meekness, kindness, temperance,self-control.” All these things—these are the fruit of the Spirit. Thefruit of the Spirit is something God produces within us. When we yieldourselves, when we are filled with the Holy Spirit, when we are filled with theWord of God, then we begin to see the fruit of the Spirit being produced in ourlives. Whatis the outward evidence of this fruit in our lives? It flows from an inwardrelationship with Christ. It is Christlike character. It is godly attitudes. Itis righteous activity. I cannot help but think of Psalm 23: “The Lord is myshepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leadsme beside the still waters.” Notice next: “He leads me in paths ofrighteousness for His name's sake.” Whenwe are following Jesus—our Shepherd, our Good Shepherd, our Great Shepherd, ourears are attuned to what He wants us to do. We are on mission with Him. We donot have our own agenda; we are His servants. We follow Him. We do what Hecommands us—to love one another, to love our neighbors as ourselves, and toshare with the world around us the wonderful good news of Jesus Christ. Thesefruits of righteousness, as you see in verse 11, “which are by JesusChrist.” Literally, it is the life that Christ is living in and through us.That is why Paul would later write, “I am crucified with Christ;nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me. And the life which Inow live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me andgave Himself for me” (Galatians 2:20). Thatbrings me to James 3:13–15. We have been talking about the wisdom of God thatis in Christ and the knowledge of God to know Him. James asks the question, “Whois wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that hisworks are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy andself-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. Thiswisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. Butwhere envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and withouthypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those whomake peace.” Myfriend, that is the wisdom that is from above. “If you lack wisdom”—James1:5—"let him ask of God”. It is yielding your life to Jesus Christand allowing His life to live through you, and you will live a life full of thefruits of righteousness. Help us, O God, to have that kind of life.
Pride is often one of the biggest obstacles we face in our walk with God.
Knowing God's character is foundational and imperative if we want to deepen our relationship with Him.
God wants each and every one of us to have a deep, personal relationship with Him. How do we begin?

Okay, so confession: my kids had just gone to bed when we started this one, and honestly, the timing felt about right — because this conversation with Jarrod McKenna is the kind of thing you need to sit with after the noise dies down. Jarrod is an Australian activist, peacemaker, and theologian who's been doing this work since he got arrested at a US military base in the middle of the Australian desert back in 2002 — and the wild thing is, the world looks eerily similar now. We talked about what it actually means to follow a nonviolent Messiah when your government just joined a war you didn't vote for, how prayer isn't an escape hatch but a way of composting all the grief and rage so you can actually be useful, and why the just war tradition — which most Christians cheerfully ignore — would rule out basically everything happening right now. We got into the Black church's tradition of Christian socialism, why the megachurch model accidentally trained people to accept autocracy, and how base communities might be the most subversive thing you can plant in the shell of the old world. We also wandered into eschatology, Harry Potter, the Counting Crows, and whether God has been patient enough with this whole experiment for 13 billion years, that maybe we should take a deep breath. It's a lot — in the best way. Join 600+ Listeners, 30 theologians, & 30 God-Pods at Theology Beer Camp 2026 this October 8-10 in Kansas City! Australian peace award-winning pastor Jarrod McKenna has been described by Civil Rights legend Rev. Jim Lawson as 'an expert in nonviolent social change'. With over 20 years of experience in pastoral ministry and at the leading edge of climate justice, refugee rights, and nonviolent social change, Jarrod has seen his work featured internationally on the BBC, Al Jazeera, ABC, and The Guardian. Co-host of the InVerse and 'Good on Wood' podcasts, Jarrod pastors at Steeple Church (Melbourne) and Table in the Trees (Perth). He lives in the Perth hills on Whadjuk Noongar Boodja with his beloved, Kat, and their four sons. UPCOMING ONLINE CLASS - Theology for Troublemakers: Christian Social Ethics from the Margins The injustices we face are immense — but they are not unique. Previous generations confronted the same powers with theological conviction and strategic brilliance. The question is whether we'll learn from them. This 6-week online course, led by Dr. Gary Dorrien and Dr. Aaron Stauffer, recovers the radical tradition of Christian social ethics — from Reverdy Ransom and Reinhold Niebuhr to James Cone and the Welfare Rights Movement — and asks what faithfulness demands of us right now. Weekly lectures, live Q&A conversations, guest lecturers, and an online community included.
On this episode we reflect on the reality that we must die, and in order to live we also must love. And it's a discussion on (ostensibly) a zombie movie that a 20+ year later legacy sequel! When the teaser trailer for 28 Years Later dropped, it seemed clear that the film wouldn't be a safe, mindless retread of previous material looking to cash in on fan nostalgia. It was visually striking, poetic, foreboding, and promised a dark, brutal world that not only has experienced a viral outbreak, but has evolved to, as much as people collectively can, live with it. Danny Boyle and Alex Garland were cooking up something special and we couldn't wait! The result was not only a commercial success but a beautifully touching coming of age story that hits on several substantive themes.Joining us for this episode is film journalist Brandon Streussnig. Other risks in the market you should be aware of Since Covid, speculative investments have continued to rise in popularity. We have talked a lot about the risks we see in margin, crypto, private investments, and prediction markets, but now there is new data about the increasing popularity of leveraged funds and options. According to exchange-traded fund manager Direxion, it looks like leveraged and inverse funds, which can be very dangerous investments, saw average daily trading volumes of 1.41 billion in 2025. That's a gain of more than 130% from 2024 and 250% from 2020, the firm found. For those that aren't aware of these products, leveraged funds use derivatives to try and boost the return of an asset in up markets, but they also amplify losses in down markets. Inverse funds on the other hand try and produce the opposite performance of the underlying asset. It's not just these risky tools that have surged though as it is projected that average daily options volume hit 58 million in 2025, which is a roughly 26% increase from 2024 and is more than double the amount seen in 2020. For comparison purposes, stock volume expanded at a yearly pace of 10% between 2020 and 2025, while leveraged funds and options trading saw daily volumes grow at compound annual rates of 29% and 16%, respectively. Part of the reason for the huge increase in the volume for leveraged funds is that the total number of active leveraged funds grew by 50% in 2025, which was the largest annual increase since 2007. Ultimately, there continues to be more and more risk that is finding its way into this market. While it's great when things are going up, it could create a downturn that is more problematic than many believe is possible. Ivy League Endowments have dismal returns because of private equity I was concerned when I saw the Ivy League schools, who I thought would be the smartest people in the room, began investing in private equity a few years ago. The results are now in, and the returns are terrible. The best annual return goes to Cornell and for the years 2022 to 2025 they only had an annualized return of 5.7%. They were closely followed by Harvard at 5.5%. The worst performer is an embarrassment as Princeton only had an annualized return of 2.8%. A large reason for the low returns is that the managers of these endowment funds invested heavily in private equity as the category made up 40% or more of the portfolios for schools such as Harvard, Yale and Princeton. The endowment funds have tried to liquidate as much as they can, but the secondary market has been rather weak, and Yale and Harvard were only able to liquidate about $1 billion of their private equity holdings last year. I think we're in the second or third inning of how bad things will get with private equity and private debt. Unfortunately, many people, including foundations, will have poor performance and probably even some losses. A lesson to all investors, don't get sucked into a hype investment of any type as eventually the hype disappears and you end up with nothing but dismal returns or losses. Is AI impacting the labor market? The headlines look concerning as February payrolls showed a loss of 92,000 jobs in the month. This was well below the estimate which was looking for a gain of 50k jobs and January's reading of 126k jobs. January's reading was revised down by 4k, while December saw a major negative revision of 65k jobs and now shows a loss of 17k jobs in the month. Health care employment, which has been such a stable force, showed employment declined by 28k in February. This was largely due to the Kaiser Permanente strike that sidelined 30k workers. The strike has now been resolved, so this should be a big benefit in the March data. Another important factor to remember was the severe weather that likely had an impact on hiring across all sectors in the month. The federal government continued to show declines as payrolls declined by 10k in the month and since reaching a peak in October 2024, federal government employment is down by 330,000, or 11.0 percent. Looking specifically at sectors that could be impacted by AI, information saw a decline of 11k, and the industry has lost an average of 5,000 jobs per month over the prior 12 months. While this looks concerning and I do believe part of this is due to AI, I think a lot of the decline is due to a normalization after rapid hiring post Covid that led to bloated employment and waste at many companies. Another sector that could be impacted by AI/Robots is transportation and warehousing. This sector declined by 11k in February, but a good chunk of the job loss occurred in couriers and messengers, which fell by 17,000. I'm still not seeing robotic delivery trucks out there, so again this could be due to normalization or the weather. With that said, employment in transportation and warehousing has declined by 157,000, or 2.4 percent, since reaching a peak in February 2025. Many of the other major sectors like construction, manufacturing, professional and business services, and leisure and hospitality saw little change in the month. Overall, there was definitely not much strength in the report. It is important to remember that the employment rate is still healthy at 4.4%, so I'm still not overly concerned about the labor market. With that being said, it is definitely worth watching in the coming months. Financial Planning: Beware of the Tax Hike Above $505k For married couples with adjusted gross incomes between $505,000 and $606,333, there's a hidden tax increase caused by the way the state and local tax (SALT) deduction phases out. Below this range, taxpayers can deduct up to $40,400 in state and local taxes. As income rises through this band, that deduction gradually shrinks to $10,000, effectively losing $30,400 of deductions. Put another way, about $100,000 of extra income can increase taxable income by more than $130,000. Households at this level are usually in the 32% federal tax bracket, but because each extra dollar of income also reduces deductions, the real marginal tax rate jumps to roughly 42%. What makes this especially striking is that many people in this range are barely above the 24% bracket, meaning their marginal rate can spike from 24% to 42% over a relatively small income increase. Careful planning ahead can help avoid this sudden tax jump. Companies Discussed: Planet Fitness(PLNT), Paramount Skydance Corp (PSKY), Old Dominion Freight Line Inc (ODFL), Salesforce (CRM)

#761 What if growing your home service business slower is actually the fastest path to profit and freedom? In this episode, host Brien Gearin sits down with returning guest Mike Andes, founder of Augusta Lawn Care, to break down how home service businesses can grow without getting crushed by seasonality, overhead, or the “bigger is better” trap. Mike shares his origin story (including starting college at 13!), then dives into his practical “off-season cures” (from winter services to inverse-demand add-ons like holiday lights), how pay-for-performance compensation can drive speed and quality with the right guardrails, and why open-book management + profit sharing can align the whole team like owners. They also unpack Mike's “Copy + Paste” growth philosophy — focusing on profitability and smart capacity limits before scaling locations — plus why many operators would be better off raising prices and reducing ad dependency than endlessly chasing more revenue! What we discuss with Mike: + Solving the off-season + Five “cures” for seasonality + Winter services & subscriptions + Inverse demand add-on services + Pay-for-performance pay model + Quality control & “yellow slips” + Open-book management basics + Profit sharing incentives + Copy-and-paste growth strategy + Raising prices vs. chasing growth Thank you, Mike! Most people spend their lives chasing happiness yet end up miserable. In this episode of The Impossible Life Podcast, Garrett and Nick flip the script using inverse thinking to expose 10 decisions that almost guarantee a broken, unhappy life. Inspired by the philosophies of Charlie Munger and Warren Buffett, this episode shows that sometimes the fastest path to wisdom is learning what not to do.You'll hear why making life all about yourself leads to emptiness, how chronic complaining drains momentum, why refusing to take risks kills potential, and how neglecting self-development, health, and belief sabotages your future. Garrett breaks down how belief systems shape outcomes, why confidence and risk are inseparable, and how consuming more than you create slowly erodes purpose and fulfillment. The episode culminates with the two most destructive choices of all: loving yourself more than God, and never developing a deep, lifelong relationship with Him. If you want to avoid regret, live with meaning, and build a life that actually works, this episode gives you a clear warning sign for every major pitfall—and shows you how to walk the opposite path toward purpose, faith, and strength.Join a group of likeminded Impossible Life listeners in our FREE Skool community by clicking here.Get the Purpose Playbook by clicking hereGet the FREE Basic Discipline Training 30 Day Program by clicking hereJoin us in Mindset Mastery by clicking hereIf you're a man that wants real accountability and training to be a leader, click here.Level up your nutrition with IDLife by clicking hereGET IN TOUCHSocial Media - @theimpossiblelifeEmail - info@theimpossible.life
