In today's conversation, the LAST of this season until we return in the new year, we'll conclude our study of the Exodus Era of the Bible with our final look at this generation of Israelites as they stand at the edge of the promised land. We'll identify the process which took them so off-course of God's best plan for their lives, and then we'll take that lens of scrutiny and flip it around to take a good look at ourselves. We'll discover that the choice to advance into what God has for us is just that—a choice—and we'll face the sobering reality of what we forfeit when we allow fear to direct that choice. So, pull up a chair at our table, and let's dive into the conversation.

Scripture Reflection for August 9, 2023: You Can Take The Land! by Priests for Life
Even though God has called and destined us to do great works with him, sometimes we doubt that. When we doubt, it's not that we don't believe in God, but we rather don't believe in ourselves and sometimes even feel like we are in the wrong place to be able to serve God. In the second week of our series we learned that what was the wrong place without Jesus can quickly turn into the right place with Jesus in a message titled, “Wrong Place. Right God.”

What's fascinating about God is that he rarely does anything alone. God doesn't need us and yet he loves to include us. God loves having a "+1" in whatever he does in and through our lives. This week we opened our new series through the book of Joshua by unpacking Joshua's blueprint of how to be a great “+1” to God.
This is Week 7 of our Summer series, The Way.

Often in our Christian walk, we forget that we are in a war. It is not a popular subject today. The hymns of the past usually had choruses like ‘Onward Christian soldiers, marching as to war. With the cross of Jesus going on before. Christ the royal Master leads against the foe; forward into battle See His banners go.' The previous generations knew that following Christ would be constant battles. There is a real enemy that wants to steal, kill and destroy our lives, families, and everything that God is doing in us. He wants to rob our futures and have us live in fear. Although God had given them the land, as soon as the Jordan was crossed, there were to be battles everywhere they went. May we not think that we don't have to fight after coming to Christ. In fact the heat gets turned up and the attacks are unrelenting. Know this: we fight from victory, not for victory! Jesus has defeated every spiritual enemy. He defeated satan in the wilderness and at the cross. He also was victorious over death and has ascended to the right hand of God. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” We are marching onward to take the land!
